good nob
Just bought a 2015 that looks just like that one, looks mean and drives great!
How's it holding up bro? Where you at on milage? I got a 2016 with 87k miles a month ago. 1k miles later I'm in love😂
Which is better for the money and over cost to own....this, a 2016 650i, or a 2016/17 X5M?
My friend had an X5M, I've never had a 650i but I did test drive one last year, I think it was a 2016ish. I don't like the 4 or 6 series, I like the 5 and 7's. But that's just personal preference on the interior/driving feeling, although I really like the look of the 650's. 650 is very similar to a 550 or 750 for repairs, it's a great car but lower resale value due to the market size being smaller number of people looking for a 6 instead of a 550. My friends X5M was sweet, tons of power. He didn't own it long due to a couple expensive repairs he had. He had always wanted to buy a true M and we found this X5M for cheap. It was fun but probably too much power, maybe overkill for a mid-size suv. Personally I think the true M's are the M3's and M5 in that time period. But really it's up to you if you like cars or suv's. X5M would have be worth more on resale, but again it's a small market. Most people would be looking for a X5 (m-sport) not the M. Just getting new brakes on that X5M was crazy expensive. Awesome SUV though, when you put it in sport mode and floored it, the exhaust would make a loud BOOM between shifting gears!
It’s a 550i not a Lambo
I would love having one of those
❤❤❤
i’m sooooooo stuck between this and a mercedes e550. is there any turbo lag on acceleration with these cars? that’s what i’ve heard when it comes to a comparison between the two cars
There is some turbo lag but there is a ton of immediate low end torque that you don't notice it.
Which one did you get? I came across a merc 550 a few weeks ago on the way to work 1 day. It flew past me, I was just chilling 😂 at the next stop light I knew he was going to hit it, so I was ready. (I was behind him) but I stayed right there with him.. I also couldn't decide between Mercedes and bmw😂 but I've put 1k on it now and absolutely love the car.. just hope it holds up. At least until I get it paid off😂
I got a 2016 550 xdrive with 74k
I have literally just bought one with 60,000 miles
Beautiful car
That the daily im gonna buy next year. Its kinda cheap for that chassis no ? If bought used
Tryna co sign so I can get this 2016 a lil cheaper on my down n apr???😂😅
Bro I love Thiss😭 ❤
John Abraham??
Im getting one in the next 10 days mark my words!
Give us the update 🎉🎉🎉
did he get it?
Did you get it
I hope your enjoying it 😅
Did u get it bro
nice carbro! but would take the bmw e63 650i over this
I love the look of the 650, but I test drove a 2015 650 and didn't like it as much.
What kind of MPG are you getting and how much to fill up?
This car was almost all highway miles, I think I was getting 22mpg, which was great for that size engine.
I'm getting right around 18mpg but I'm mostly in the city... still way better than the 10-12 my old ram gets😂.
With these newer German cars (or probably any new car really) you don't want to let the fuel get to low, it can burn the fuel pumps up from sucking air. With 1/4 tank it cost me $50 to fill it up with 93.
I have everything for my swap but a pipe, Does the westcoast fit good? I'm not sure which exhaust to get for the swap.
West coast fit ok, I had some leaking issues where the manifold and pipe met. Not sure how much power it really adds over stock. There are some posts on the forums about how to do a mod to the stock pipe. I would for sure add a Flow Control Valve in www.blowsion.com/flow-control-valve-pro-series What are you using for a waterbox? I found the West Coast waterbox was too loud with my side exhaust and put a stock 550 waterbox back in that I drilled out the screens in and added a flow control valve.
Just using the stock water box on mine also, I've heard the aftermarket waterboxes are just to loud and don't make a difference. Ive seen the stock pipe mod and might just have to go with that. @@mrmcfoley
@@Ritualz999 I actually did notice a little power loss switching back to the stock waterbox, but it was just too loud. I never compared a stock exhaust manifold or pipe to the westcoast although I've read it wasn't much different
I’m having issues with my swap
love the color of the ski! looks so good. where did you get the finger throttle?
Thanks, I found it on Amazon. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T2GGKFC
@@mrmcfoley sweet thanks!
Looks very good
Just bought a white one with a new engine. Absolutely my dream car!
New engine!!! That's amazing
@@mrmcfoleyhow muc. For it
Why a new engine lol my god bmw is such junk !
@@Coral-reef.Hate much bro? What you got?😂
That’s a monster, and that’s my dream car or M5 they both are almost the same. Beautiful car, I’ll buy one, one day.
Prepare to be disappointed at the amount of maintenance it requires.
@@VeganDefinitionYeah drive like a dumbass redline it everyday don’t warm it up and you will be dealing with maintance. Me? I have had my 2013 550i for 5 years now all maintenance done on time and used the best oils and parts. My sisters 2023 camry has had more fails and trips to the mechanic than my 550i.
@@Skyx5m50I have the 2011 550i and personally will be selling it this spring. Eats up too much oil and i’ve had a few problems in my past year of ownership
I just bought one. Pick it up tomorrow
@@gmacka6333where you bought it I’m looking for one
Bmw is the most reliable car everyone always says it’s not bc you expect to push big turbo and tune and floor it every light like any car would break lmao I had my 535i 2016 since 2020 and doesn’t have anything wrong rides like brand new 55k miles only well kept and been in races 😇
I just finished a 550 / 650 swap and have no power once I get out of the hole. Switched impellers from a 15.5 to a skat trak 19. Any reason why I have no power?
Maybe a carb issue? Probably have adjust the high speed jet, or possibly rejet if you can't adjust it enough with the screw
I have a brand new mikuni 44mm and it has already been re jetted. Could it be a crank case issue? I took it out today and it ran great for about 100yards then ran like crap after that
@@codyruhnke15Your problem sounds like fuel supply. Check all your lines, filter, check valves, and primer for correct flow directions and that it’s actually working at all. A new carb SHOULD be pumping so the problem is lines
Would u sell it
Already sold that one two years ago.
@@mrmcfoleysuch a beautiful car did you buy it new and was there any problems owning it ?
I've had two of those 550's. First one had a tiny coolant leak that took the dealer two trips to find, 22 coolant hoses to look at with a sensor in one that malfunctioned. Had a drivetrain failure error which ended up being the coils which I replaced on my own at 55k miles. Always replace these first if you have engine or drive train issues, super easy to do. Also had to replace a CV joint close to 80k miles. Second one in the video purchased dealer CPO with 24k miles. Not a single issue, sold around 60k miles, due to not driving much during covid. Also had a 750li, same engine. Had to replace a few sensors mainly in the emissions starting around 80k miles. Replaced the tie rods at 90k miles. It still has some creaking noises in the front. It's a really big/heavy car. Overall no major issues. You'll have to start replacing small things around 70k - 80k miles, those darn sensors add up especially if they are OEM. Lots of good answers on forums, bimmer fest etc, to problem solve issues before you take it to the mechanic, and buy aftermarket parts for any fixes you can! Purchased 1 at the BMW dealer (mistake) and 2 used private party. They depreciate so fast, don't waste your money at the dealer buying new or even dealer CPO. Just buy used that has been well taken care of, drive for a couple years and resell around 80-90k miles. You can find some great deals out there. I have never owned one over 100k miles, and spent around $5k max in repairs total on all three in the last 7 years.
@@mrmcfoley I guess the reason why they depreciate so fast is probably that they produce so much idk why it deprecates I heard new it was like 70-80k
Steep drop after the warranty runs out. Nobody wants a BMW, especially one with a twin turbo V8, out of warranty except BMW enthusiasts.
Nice pair of skis. I also have the 550 and 96xp they are awesome boats
LCI all the way! Plan to get one in march, Yeah pre-LCI’s are much cheaper but for a reason. (I think the steering wheel was already a good step up)
Would he sell it
Tomorrow I go to the bank.
Super clean. The LED Headlights really takes years off the car’s age.
it’s a shame tho that a 2016 BMW has to get aftermarket headlights in order to get ride of some “age” car isn’t even 10 years old. Compared to my TL which still looks pretty good
@@Justvn4thGenTL not so much Aftermarket, just OEM+. Those are tge Adaptive LED Headlamps that BMW offer. Only thing is, if you don’t get it from bmw, the don’t actually say adaptive LED in the headlamp unit. I have the OEM+ adaptive LED lights on my F10 550i. Looks so much better than standard.
Facts just had someone ask me if my 2016 was the newest model clearly not a bmw dude but made my day haha
@@Justvn4thGenTL Its a 2016 with the body style that came out in 2010. Makes perfect sense for it to shed years with a headlight change. Those TLs look just as old if not more
SUPER CARRO SUPER MÁQUINA LINDA MARAVILHOSA
is this car reliable?
Yes, I've had three of these cars with this engine, but never had one with over 85k miles. had to replace coils and plugs one one, super simple to do yourself. another one did have a coolant leak, they have 22 different coolant hoses. took the dealership two times to find the leak was a faulty sensor inside, costs $1600 mainly for labor. so enough repairs are expensive. and another that needed a new CV joint at 77k miles I have another one now thats out of warranty, getting an extended warranty from endurance. i would highly suggest looking into this.
i’m getting the n63tu heard too many scary things about the n63 engine
@@jshifty9618 Defiantly get N63tu, 2014+ they fixed a few things and it is also noticeably more powerful and responsive. And really look into that third party warranty, it's about $100/month but will pay for itself. We have a 750li now and it's great, but the 550 is way more fun!! That engine is amazing, you'll love it.
@@mrmcfoley thanks for the wise words colin will definitely ask about that warranty, literally just finalized my deal w bmw for the 2016 550 will be here in two weeks can’t wait !
@@jshifty9618 www.endurancewarranty.com/ is one I got a quote from last night, seems really good, but there are lots of other companies out there. One trip to the dealership and it will pay for itself. And you'll probably have at least one trip by 70k ish miles once it's out of the BMW warranty.
I’d trade my e36 in a heart beat beautiful car man
Dream car
Got both
This is sick! You ever figure out what pitch your Impeller is? In the middle of doing a 650 swap on my 550sx and i'm hoping my Solas 16.5 isnt too short!
Hey Tye, I don't know what pitch it is. It runs great with whatever is in there so I never pulled it to try my other impeller. My spare is a 16 I think, but its packed away. Its ran great all summer, but have a slight leak where the exhaust manifold meets up to the pipe. I pulled it and tried to seal it better but it still leaked so I just leave my bilge pump on while I'm riding. I ordered a new exhaust manifold from Wax Racing that doesn't have the water jacket going into the exhaust. Still waiting for it to be delivered, there were only making a small run of them earlier this summer for pre order. But I think they are now in production for anyone to order. Pricey, but I was sick of dealing with the leak.
In a 550 pump, that’s about as tall as you want to go, they have an upper limit on water volume so you just get there by matching the pitch with your target RPM.
Just bought one, watching this to see what it’s like lol
I like this kind of pov.
Awesome ski ! Looks and sounds great ! What lake is this ?
U need front sponsons
Have any more pics or vids of the ski? Watched this about 5x now 🤣 probably going to have to get a new hull and build one ...
I have some pictures and a few videos out of the water, only rode it a few times before I put it away for the winter. I recently picked up a stock 550 waterbox, hard to tell on the video but the Westcoast waterbox was annoyingly loud with that side exhaust. Hopefully I don't lose much power with the stock waterbox, we'll see in the spring. Pics/Videos drive.google.com/drive/folders/17N8Ew-ecDAUUobEfM2eFnwVaEuhrwBYS?usp=sharing
Those 650's have such a distinct sound to them! I dig it lol
Looks and sounds good! How was the conversion/ how long did it take you?
Someone else did the whole conversion a few years back and then tore it down and pulled everything out of the engine bay and sandblasted all the parts but never put it back together. I bought it with all the parts ready to do, just had to put it back together. Was lucky, the guy even gave me all new gaskets, fuel and water hoses, etc. even had evey nut still from when he tore it down. Purchased on a Thursday, spent two nights assembling it and was riding on Saturday morning. Amazing difference compared to my other 550, and sounds great but very loud with that side exhaust, can't tell in the video. Listen here: ruclips.net/video/cY7aBd7cRPQ/видео.html
@@mrmcfoley I like it, sounds like you got a great deal! Have a 550 sx reed motor with some goodies on it and it absolutely rips! Having a hard time dialing in starting the ski/ overall reliability and have been considering doing the 650 swap as I've ran 650's for years and years with no issues and overall very reliable...have you ridden a reed 550 vs your swapped 650? Curious on the difference in power/ needing different impeller pitch and anything else.
@@charleskienbaum9542 I haven't ridden a reed, my other ski is 1990 550SX Piston Port, has some aftermarket parts but always seemed a little under powered. Has the 38mm carb and tuned correctly depending on the tempature, guessing if I put a 44mm it would wake it up some more. Mine used to start great, then I bypassed the orginal fuel lines/switch/ rev limiter and ran straight to the carb with a restrictor in the return line, which shouldn't make a difference but around that time it seems like it's a lot harder to start cold, and after I've been riding hard for a 20plus mins. If riding for a shorter amount of time it starts right back up. Gigantic difference in the power with the 650 conversion vs my 550 Piston Port. ruclips.net/video/RzMdiZiE624/видео.html
The 650 converstion does have an different stainless steel impeller but I'm not sure of the pitch.
Nice!!!
