LOVE Ray, but absolutely hated this arrangement of You Can Bring Me Flowers. Bad enough I had to turn it off. Also- and I know this is an unpopular opinion, but if you dread performing so much that you can't interact with your audience, maybe just stick to recording? There is absolutely no fun in this. It was painful to watch. I also stopped watching Van Morrison and Bob Dylan for the same reason. But like I said- an unpopular opinion, know. Love to Ray, though.

I've had this album in my car stereo since I was 18 & a friend burned it for me thinking i would like it. It spent 3 years never leaving that cd slot. Then my car was totaled in a head on collision, it was the only thing I took with me from the crash. It was my anthem and 11 years later I'm so close to the down payment for that acre of land. The cd has been too scratched to listen to for at least 2 years and I've missed it greatly

The fidelity of this recording is almost better than the release of "Till the Sun Turns Black", which I first heard in 2011. My favorite is "Empty" -- so many great lyrics (Through my cracked and dusty dime-store lips...And kiss me with that country mouth so plain) -- and the soaring musicality of the arrangements. Every song hits for me on this album. It is such a sonic pleasure so thank you for sharing! Okay, just have to add a shout out to "Can I Stay", which is one of most seductive songs I've ever heard ("Norwegian Wood" has nothing on Ray). All tracks on this album are brilliant, so it's hard to choose which ones I love best.
