Well we did say we were underestimating Kentucky going into this one, and yeah we gave massive props to their defense despite the offense not being that explosive. They did get smoked by South Carolina but have looked alright otherwise. Don't know what else you want to hear bro

@@ThreeTechPod well when I heard "Kentucky always gets handled" I already knew y'all didn't do your research on this team or program. Stoops teams are always tough, physical, and competitive. He rarely ever gets blown out by anybody. Even UGA never blows Kentucky out, Tennessee only did once in 2022, and even those games are usually competitive. Tennessee beat Kentucky by like 5 last year, and 3 in 2021. Idk why everybody thought ole Miss was just gonna skull drag them or something when I'm fact the last two times Kentucky played ole Miss they looked like the better team in both games and lost off some BS. By one point in one game and 3 the other. Kentucky almost smacked Clemson last year, they beat Louisville who was a top 10 team last season. Stoops consistently recruits top 25 level classes, and he gets really good players in the portal. There are numerous players on this roster that was at schools like Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, and they also have an underrated culture and development staff there. Kentucky gets slept on by alot of people who don't pay attention to nobody but their favorite team. Real college football fans, who pay attention to the game in general knows how solid their football program is there. No their not elite, but they definitely have a top 25 program in the country.

Maybe a semantic distinction. I would use the word "handle" for taking care of business, not dominates Example would be Georgia handled Kentucky this year because they took care of business and got the win, even though Kentucky was physical and gave the Dawgs problems. Kentucky is not dominated often though it does happen, like everyone in cfb

They did, but Michigan couldn't score with the other QB And this Michigan team still has a lot of growing to do. They'll look better by the end of the year but that week 2 team was not very good

We were press box for the SMU game and watched the KState game live on the pod last week (check out the Saturday live stream) and yes we're impressed with BYU

That makes the most sense for that line, otherwise it feels like BYU should be favored!

We lost our Super-Sr C & his backup in the 2nd quarter. And our starting OG had to slide over & fill the C spot as our 3rd stringer. Our OTHER guard was on his 2nd start filling in for another injured Starter. There were definitely personnel issues behind that 2nd half stagnation/collapse. Also, we were without our star RB (LJ Martin) for the fourth successive game, our RB2 (Ropati), & our (I think) clearly second best RB (& star of the KState win) -- Sione Moa. We needed ALL of that big lead just to hold on. Proud of our guys (particularly the D) for holding on. We knew going into that that Baylor was being underrated. The really ain't a bad squad. Their QB is quite incredible, actually. He has a future ahead of him, for sure.

@@dalecaswell4217 well said and hard agree on everything you said here. I have Baylor knocking off Iowa State this weekend. They haven’t faced any real threats at receiver and those Baylor wideouts looked NFL ready. Great points about the injuries. I truly hope that Sonny Makasini can produce even a fraction of what Pay was doing for us. If we see weird play calling, there may be some restriction due to the center position. I really hope not. I REALLY hope we see Moa next weekend. I believe in him more than LJ honestly

Honestly great question. There is a good chance the MWC is applying a lot of force to stay based on buy outs and a lot of these schools may not have the immediate cash to solve that problem and operate within their means. It could also just be a miscalculation from the Pac 12 trying to keep its standing as a power conference and afraid to make it look like they're just MWC+

@@ThreeTechPod I know the PAC is sitting on a big pile of cash, so are they paying the buyouts for Boise and the others joining the conference? Seems like the PAC missed the mark with the higher profile American teams. The Dakota teams don't seem to make sense for them or the PAC. To sum up, I'm confused.

That’s is the dumbest statement you have made so far. OKSt was done after Kuithes TD. They went two high safety instead of one, started rotating outside of two deep & dared pokes to eat clock keeping everything in front of them. Whittvent defense is thing. If OKSt offense is on the field then Zack Wilson isn’t. Another ZW pick would have put the win in harms way far more playing bend but don’t break, keep that clock moving defense. There are no bonus points or margin of victory criteria in CFP decision. Anyone not an OKSt fan who watched that game knows the win was never in danger.

The stats show a very different game than the last 3 min in the game showed. Utah dominated clearly.

@@ThreeTechPod well, honestly, that bowl performance should've been telling for everyone. I get that they sat just about every starter and even lots of second stringers, but the fact that FSU's backups and walk-ons allowed more points to Georgia's backups and walk-ons in one half than the starting defense had allowed in a single game for the previous 7 games should've been a warning sign. I mean, the fact that they even needed to dip into the portal as much as they did just goes to show that they dont trust the guys they had. If anything, this is a perfect case against Norvell and his coaching staff because they clearly did not recruit high enough talent over the last 2-3 seasons to maintain even a coherently competitive team. Honestly, it boils down to bad coaching which also likely means bad recruiting.

In today's college football, you have to hit the portal each offseason. It would be really rare to have success and them keep everyone together. Even the top programs hit the portal hard That being said, you're 100% right. I think FSU just missed on a lot of guys they targeted as bring a good fit for their system. It's not beyond repair as a program, but this year is a disaster and it has to get turned around immediately!

@@ThreeTechPod yeah, the portal is here to stay, but you've still gotta recruit like Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, and Oregon if you want to use the portal to its full capacity. I mean, look at how stacked Oregon was when they got Bo Nix. The team was super complete, and was just a solid QB away from being a top 10 team. The key is to pick up those last few pieces in the portal, not attempt a roster overhaul, which is unfortunately what it seems FSU tried to do.

I think that's fair. On paper the Sun Devils are more talented and honestly should win, but texas state is plenty talented and will be playing with their hair on fire! Should be a fun game to watch!
