You shouldn’t use car oil with a wet clutch, you also shouldn’t use high mileage oil ever because it has additives to swell rubber seals to slow leaks on old engines, you probably shouldn’t make how-to videos

Thanks for the video. I just got the same bike in a 2024 model. I love it but I was worried about my chain tension. The recommended slack amount was 25 to 35 mil, but even at 25 it felt like there was still too much slack in the chain. Granted I didn’t want the chain to be too tight, but that was bugging me. I was glad you showed the kind of tension you had after the adjustment so it kind of gives me a frame of reference as to what normal tension would look like. Ride safe

I did this on the 650nk. Plugged it all back in and now no lights work, no horn, ignition always shows 3rd gear and won’t start unless the clutch is held in????

Hi, you used the wrong oil. your owner's manual clearly states the oil needs to have APISH or higher with JASO-MA2 being the primary choice or JASO-MA as acceptable alternative. This is on page 102 of the owners 's manual. What this means and it should be stated how important this is for the life of your clutch. Your oil choice is ok for just the engine. Motorcycles use the same oil to lubricate the engine, clutch, and your transmission. Straight engine oil will make your clutch discs degrade and slip burn. Transmision gears sheer oil faster than an engine does. For those two issues there is an additive package in the correct oil for that. That is why the correct oil for motorcycles is so much more expensive. Like $78.32 for a four-liter jug of Motul 7100 at Cycle Gear or Revzilla. I can't believe this video is at least two weeks old and nobody paid attention to what you were using and not say something.
