@@paulyeung6608 really?? You think? Ahh they are so niche, my only worry is it’ll be so hard to post them because IG hates landscape
Dude! You killed this, such a helpful video🚀
Thank you man! Idk how you make these so often, there’s so much work that goes into it!
Welcome back! 🥳

AF not working on slow motion ?
@@R3DLINE13 I think we were manually focusing on this one so it was user error that missed, the autofocus is pretty reliable, we just testing out a focus puller attachment. Which we don’t really use anymore because the autofocus is great.
Again, thank you so much.
@@raymond8897 Thank you for watching!! I love doing stop motion so I was super excited to share what I’ve learned, hope my insights help you not make the same mistakes I did when starting out! We have a 3rd video in this series as well if you didn’t see, should be 3 videos total from this stop motion tutorial series. Let me know if you have any questions, I’d be happy to answer anything! ~ Marc
This is SO good. Thank you. Please do more.
@@raymond8897 oh wow thank you!! I’m so glad you found our stop motion videos! When we first released these with Kessler Crane, they didn’t do so well so we kind of stopped showcasing our stop motion work but I’m so glad you found it helpful!!
Epic photos 😎
@@Mattspeak86 thank you!! We had a good time with these 🤩
Is co. Pressing good
It depends based on your workflow and how big you wish your files to be, but we use lossless compression usually on our Nikons!
Hey what that type of camera's are called?
This is the Fuji GA645! Super intuitive and produces some really sharp film photos. This model is an anniversary model so it has a bit of unique styling but still the same model
It's really cheap too.
@@diremooninite yeah it’s a pretty good deal!
That's alot of hilation
On the video you mean?
Amazing lens and camera👍👏🤙🇦🇷
Thank you!! We really love it, it’s so underrated!
Wait did you just toss away your Peak Design 35L?? Throw it My way because I can’t afford NOMATIC yet LOL
No no we didn't throw it away, Marc actually uses it now. Landon still uses the Nomatic one though and it's been great! Both are great bags, Landon is just a little sore from his Z9 falling out of the open side of the Peak Design. He has strong feelings
I could give that 85mm 1.4 a free cla for you. I have one I bought in worse condition and refurbished it up myself. I've become very familiar with it and it's actually a pretty simple lens. I'm surprised the lens tech made it seem like such a hassle.... I know this video is old but figured I'd try! I enjoy working on these lenses and want to see them keep being used.
Thank you! We actually ended up sending it back and found one that was in much better condition! But that’s great to know they’re actually pretty simple to do on your own. Thanks for watching!
How to connect flash to camera?
The flash should have a hot shoe with electrical pins. Slide the flash into your camera’s hot shoe and that’s how you connect it
I am learning photography. I bought used Sony a7s2. New 28-75 f2.8 lens I need to get my first flash. I want it to be portable and lightweight so I can take it with me while travelling. I will be doing street photography and portraits/people. Please suggest if I should go for on camera speed light or off camera strobe. And what flash model do you suggest?
Landon here! Congrats on getting the Sony! For travel flashes, I’d suggest looking for something on-camera. The LightPix Lab M20 and Q20ii are great options. They’re manual flashes but I think the M20 has a Sony TTL option. TTL means it’ll meter through the lens and give you the right flash output automatically. These are also nice because they can be remotely triggered by their built in receiver like an off-camera strobe. The M20 is the one I use as my portable flash for digital photography.
I bought Nikon Z9 7 months ago and I was very happy with it, but I started having problems which is saying error press shutter release botton to reset i send it back company where i bought they told me nothing wrong with camere and still got same problem anyone can help me please?
The company where you bought it wouldn't be able to help, you will have to send it in to Nikon and have them look at it. Try emailing them first and see if they have a solution you would be able to do on your own.
This sounds like the same issue we had with ours initially. We ended up having to send it in, and they were able to fix it and return it
What is the brand of bag you just ditched?
We’ve usually used Peak Design backpacks and shoulder bags. We still use those too though! No one got ditched lol
*mad mod is number sh*t...... why do you recommend it?*
For the reasons in the vid
Straight to the point
You got it!
straight to the point, nice
Thanks! YT Shorts is a great way to be direct
Happy Shooting!
Can a 16” MacBook fit in?
Yes it can!
Glad you enjoyed the Black Pro-Mist! Also love to hear that more and more people are mentioning the Glimmerglass :)
Oh wow thanks @TiffenCompany for watching! We're really happy with the Black Pro-Mist. We're actually taking a set with us to film a Documentary in Japan this week! One of the reasons we did this big comparison
skeleton girl🤢
Peak design is way more convenient for travel
We have a Peak Design one too. Marc uses that one, Landon used to use it but once forgot to zip the side and his Z9 fell out. So he’s still bitter and doesn’t use it anymore 😆 But they all pretty much do the same thing
Great Tips!
Thanks for watching! Glad they help!
Boring ass review
Literally the same fucking bag
Same as which one?
I now understand why Red is suing Nikon. The image/video quality is so dangerously close to the big boys (including Red.) And that's not only because they "allegedly" (according to Red) illegally used Red's compression (which is TicoRaw, then Red should be suing TicoRaw and not Nikon, and tbh they shouldn't have been granted that patent in the first place.)
It is very good video! And yes Red’s patent when it was granted was so general and widespread, it shouldn’t have been granted. But hopefully whatever settlement Red and Nikon came to (which we’ll probably never know exactly) will pave the way for more cameras to unlock the RAW video format. Nikon’s definitely been doing great in the video world though, we’re very happy with it
@@RetroRocketStudios It was funny actually. Because I used a Nikon D7100 DSLR before, and the video quality is absolutely dogshit (but i've seen worse, and it's from a Fujifilm X-T1.) Both great for stills (loved the Nikon more though) but both having shitty video. It's funny because both Fuji and Nikon went from "crap video" to having some of the best video specs and quality in mirrorless cameras today.
@@RetroRocketStudios imo it's like Red is doing some patent trolling at this point. They sued Nokia, Sony (both lost, hence the FX9 requiring that stupid attachment to enable internal RAW video) and even Apple (lost as well, but ended up having Apple pay royalties to RED for the ProRes RAW) and also made others such as Kinefinity and DJI remove internal RAW video specs out of the box.
@@Jan-xf8sk They swooped in and took over the video market! Well they would if people tried them out over Sony's now
@@Jan-xf8sk Yeah it would be interesting to know what agreement Nikon and Red came to that allowed Nikon to keep their internal Raw
AI-S lenses have cooler coatings that are particularly optimised for black and white. I prefer the 85 f2 because it has a 52mm filter thread. The 1.4 is a bit chunky for my liking.
We haven’t got our hands on an f2 yet but everyone has their preferences. The 1.4 is a chunky softball. Have you tried the new Z 85 1.2??
@@RetroRocketStudios I have never owned a Nikon digital. When Canon went EF, I was like most photographers of the time, I switched to Canon. Although, come to think of it my Kodak DCS in 1992 had a Nikon N8008 partial body hacked onto the top of it that could take my old Nikkors. Other than that, I stuck with Canon until I went mirrorless, first Panasonic, then Sony, so I can use my Zeiss ZF2 lenses and old Nikkors on both systems. Happy with both MFT and Sony, so don't see myself going back to Nikon any time soon. Consequently I have no ability to try any of the Z lenses. I do stay loyal, however to my old AI-S lenses on SLR as well as Lumix and Sony mirrorless, and shoot film on both FA and FG. That is when I am at my happiest.
@@artistjoh Oh that sounds like a great setup! The AI-S lenses have been great on one of our Nikon F4's also
👏🏻
Thanks for watching!
What film did you use?
This was all taken with Kodak Portra 400!
Beautiful texture!
Very nice. I think prosumer cameras are fast catching up to big video brands like Arri and Red.
The Z9's flexibility is arguably better than the Red at this point, there is no crop factor when doing higher frame rates like on the Red, which is one of their drawbacks for sure
Great cinemaphotography.
Thank you! Appreciate it!!
I have a FM2N. Works flawlessly in sub freezing temperatures.
They are beasts! What do you mostly shoot with it??
@@RetroRocketStudios Landscapes and nightscapes.
@@Astro_Aladfar Oh nightscapes too! That's awesome
@@RetroRocketStudios as I'm writing this, although not with film, I am shooting the Aurora Borealis.
@@Astro_Aladfar that’s incredible! If you post the photos on Instagram, feel free to share it with us, we’d love to see your shots! That’s quite an adventure
I have the same problem. I'm using a Sigma 60-600 (not the mirrorless version) If you clean the contacts on the lens, the problem goes away. While in the field, removing and installing the lens would reduce the frequency of the error. Hope this helps you.
Luckily we resolved it, we had to send it back to Nikon but after we got it back we haven't had the issue anymore. For us, the problem still persisted after we cleaned the contacts on the lens.
i have the same issue, ill be calling nikon , thanks
Aw man sorry to hear that!! We were hoping those issues had been resolved by now, is your Z9 new?
ot it in December @@RetroRocketStudios
@@RetroRocketStudios got it in December
@@rrr46060 Oh wow very recent, dang sorry to hear you experienced this too. After we sent it in, we haven't had the issue anymore.
I used to be a canon shooter and used a ftb until I bought a nikon f3 and that's when I switched to nikon forever I was given a canon av1 and sold it instantly and bought my self a nikon fa for matrix metering and I still use it to today
Lol see if more people only tried Nikon!! They’d never go back haha. All the Nikon hate on RUclips is usually from people who haven’t even used one before! Happy shooting!
Well, now you guys know lol.
I guess you could say our educated guess was correct? haha This myth is now BUSTED. We're super excited about the new lens, so far the videos of the RUclipsrs that received test units have been incredible. Sounds like Nikon is pushing this 85 1.2 as a heavy hitter portrait lens, but the application this thing has for video and film is something else. The focus pulling on it is phenomenal, and happy they made it with no visible focus breathing also
@@RetroRocketStudios Ooops, I should have commented after watching the video lol.... but indeed, people can keep bashing Nikon, but they will learn who Nikon is and why they have been in the game for so long, #humbly :) lol ... the new bodies will be super exciting too, let's see what they have been cooking for us..
@@felm.974 Thank you for watching! We're thinking about making a video now that it's been announced but we haven't gotten to try one in person yet so we may wait, but yes unfortunately people will always bash Nikon, but they usually don't even have first hand experience. Nikon for us has been really pushing the boundaries with their Z line of bodies and lenses, and we're so lucky to be in their ecosystem. I'm (Marc) really looking forward to seeing what the Z8 has in store. But with this new lens, I'm so tempted to get the Z9 like Landon now!
@@felm.974 What do you primarily shoot? Just curious!
@@RetroRocketStudios I currently use the Z6ii and it is GREAT and amazing in low-light. I recently bought the 50 1.2 and it is insane, can't wait to shoot more with it. I also have the 24mm, 24-70 2.8, 24-120 F4, the 35 1.8, the 28 2.8, the 16-50, and the 85 1.8 which is a beauty but at some point I'll invest in the 1.2 lol ....and I also recently bought the Zfc in black.
That's impressive, Landon!👍 By the way, we've also add a vide editor to our iOS app, so everyone is very welcome to test it 😉
Just downloaded it 🙌
haha, so you're not going to tell us what program that is?
Lol I did! It’s in the description :) it’s called Mental Canvas
Always use the corner of your shirt…
Lol if you have a clean shirt 👕
I want a 33-40 MP Z90 or a Z500 type to compliment my Z9. I can carry a few primes and have all my focal ranges taken care of.
Oh that would make sense! That’d definitely be handy
The Grays of Westminster folks tried the Noct for video. It's interesting and definitely cinelens like. But I rather have all the 1.2s for the cost of one Noct
Oh we gotta check them out! Yeah I think we’d really like to have a complete set of 1.2’s first too
Always appreciate you guys! Happy New Year!
Thank you!! Happy new year to you too! Any big plans for 2023?
