We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islam)." English translation from Quran

    To say that there is not punishment after a long galus is not correct. Hashem created each person with his own potential and judges each person perfectly. If a person is lacking in something he could have done then there is punishment! You say that god is the true judge and source of absolute justice. Then you make your own own “judgment” and say that we are not fit to be punished. Who is the judge god or you? I’m sure that what you say applies to individuals (tinok shenisba) but to say it collectively, that we are all free from punishment is incorrect and I think dangerous. The Torah is for all generations and it constantly warns throughout all of it to be close to god and keep his Torah or there will be consequences. That hasn’t changed. The Torah has not changed.

      Sam, thank you for your wise comments, I could not have said it better myself. This is exactly what Rabbi Botton said to R Friedman in an interview on line with this video title if you want to see it: "Did Rabbi Manis Friedman Go To Far" I will say one thing - though saying what he said as general as he said it is not correct and misleading - this applies mainly to the clips made by Yaron Reuven - because then the message has no context and can seem absolute. I have spoken to many rabbis about this and though it is wrong to say in the context he says it, with 20 to 30 minutes of a deep meaningful message - it is only considered a mistake not heresy and not very dangerous. But the clips that present this can be, but they don't fairly represent his real message. That's why this video is posted on this channel, because in my opinion supported by rabbis, at least some level of correction is accomplished. Also I recommend you see the video I mentioned because in it R Friedman actually fixes thing saying that even today people will suffer, go to hell, be reincarnated for sin - but he calls it rectification not punishment because he feels that without willful rebellion rectification is a better term, and though I don't fully agree with this, it does fix things and clarities that he is NOT heretic and his full teachings are not heresy. I hope this is helpful all the best

      @@divinewisdomliveabetterlif3511 Thanks for the reply. I would like to add that Rav Aaron Feldman the Rosh Yeshiva of Ner Yisroel spoke out against Rabbi Friedman and said that he is teaching heresy. That’s not to say that he doesn’t mean well, but he’s mistaken. And to say that now a days we don’t get punished is I’m pretty sure heresy. It’s a denial of the 13 ikarim and a basic principle of the Torah. Maybe he retracted it in another video. I don’t know. But in this video it’s clearly teaching a heretical idea. Im not saying it as a personal attack. I just think these things need to be called out because they can lead a person especially an uneducated person to a heretical idea.

      @@Sam-yv6wm can you please give me the time stamp of the part that seems heretical, so I can check? About the heresy issue - the clip on schar and onesh as is - does seem heretical in the video with R Friedman and R Botton R Friedman explains himself and what he says is NOT heretical - it is possible that this new explanation came after this video. so as of now, at least it seems that R Friedman is NOT a heretic - but the clips seem heretical. 2 point on this 1) it's possible the original classes did not give this same heretical feel - so the clips could have made things worse 2) Even if the full video does seem heretical - as long as he stops saying this point and together with his clarification he should be considered Kosher at the very least is an after the fact situation (meaning B'de'eved) - meaning that this whole thing is not perfect - and it would have been better if he never said some of the things he said. 3) I have seen the video from R Feldman - his view is of course valid - but keep in mind he never said R Friedman is a heretic -just that saying there is no reward and punishment is heretical - so in my opinion all of the above in important to understand the full meaning of R Feldman. all the best

    God does not get angry or have emotions. He created emotions. He is beyond those things. He expresses himself in this world in a way we can understand. We will never know his true essence. That’s beyond us. Olam chesed yibaneh. God built a world of kindness. That doesn’t mean he is in “essence” kind. It just means that is how he expresses himself in the world. He transcends any human emotion and it’s okay that we don’t understand that just how we don’t understand how god transcends time. This is agreed upon across the board according to rambam and others. Also to say that doing something for a reward is going against the Mishnah is wrong. The Mishnah is stating an ideal and something to strive for.

    • @divinewisdomliveabetterlif3511
      @divinewisdomliveabetterlif3511 2 дня назад

      Sam - though you are correct in what you say, I think you may be missing an important point: 1) the term God only represents God's essence as it is expressed through the Divine, Godly real of Holiness. That said, it is absolutely correct to say according to Torah and Kabbalah to say that God has Godly emotions. This is correct because it never means that God's essence before it becomes invested in creation post tzimtum through the 10 sefirot of Atsilut. This is all correct and agreed on by all gedolim that know kabbalah. And here is the source for this from Chazal: When Moshe asked God what His name was - God answered - I am called (by name) in accordance to my actions. Look of source and you'll see that everything above it correct. Again thanks for your comments all the best

    • @Sam-yv6wm
      @Sam-yv6wm 2 дня назад

      @@divinewisdomliveabetterlif3511 I’m not sure what all of this means if you could elaborate. But we all agree that god does not have HUMAN emotions. He transcends those. To say god has “godly emotions”, Im not sure what that means because they are not human emotions and that’s all we understand. It goes back to we don’t know and may never know gods essence. There are just expressions in this world in a way we understand. To imply even if rabbi Friedman didn’t mean to that god gets angry etc.. is definitely heretical. He didn’t clarify these kabbalistic concepts. He blanketly said god has an arm, and gets angry. That’s dangerous to say and heretical. Also the chazal you quoted means that god is called by a name in accordance to his actions. Meaning that god name is not a reflection of his essence.

    • @divinewisdomliveabetterlif3511
      @divinewisdomliveabetterlif3511 20 часов назад

      @@Sam-yv6wm thanks for commenting, I will try and answer your questions. 1) "god does not have HUMAN emotions" yes everyone agrees on this. 2) I don't mean at all to talk down to you but the following is simple and many rabbis agree to this. "To imply even if rabbi Friedman didn’t mean to that god gets angry etc.. is definitely heretical." The Torah says God gets angry - how can anyone think is heretical to repeat what the Torah says. It obviously means a Godly type of anger. 3) "He blanketly said god has an arm, and gets angry. That’s dangerous to say and heretical." Again the Torah does say God has a hand - but this needs to me understood. I myself have watched the longer video that R Friedman said this in - and he explains it in a corect and deep way based on Kabbalah and mainly Chassidut. It's the 10 second clip that created the problem - and also the ignorance of Yaron Reuven including this point from Kabbalah Chassidut and the Shelah in his attact against R Friedman. 4)"Meaning that god name is not a reflection of his essence." This statement is not accurate - God's essence, meaning the Infinite One (Ein Sof) is above everything - but God chose to contract an aspect of His essence (Ein Sof) within His actions - meaning manifestations in the created realms. So though God's essence is above His Names the Divine Names ARE a reflection of His essence. I realize this is deep and based on Kabbalah but I think you will appreciate this over time and it is the correct anser to your statement. All the best

    Most mainstream rabbis would disagree with the premise that we do things for reward leads to narcissism. Doing something for a reward doesn’t mean you play nice and get candy at the end. It means connection to god becoming aware of him and becoming more selfless. The reward is understanding , connection and awareness. That’s not a path to narcissism. That’s what people are striving for. Yes god created that for us and it’s all a kindness to us. We are dependent on god and we recognize how great god is so people won’t come to pride and narcissism. A person can realize that the world was created for him as it says in the Gemara and also understand that one is completely dependent on the one who created that world and nothing in comparison to him. That doesn’t lead to narcissism. It leads to thanking and praising god.

    If you're not happy with Judaism then just go out and be fair to yourself and others, say that you prefer ancient or modern philosophy and that's it. You American and Western Jews have apparently spent too much time in the swamp that your brains have become muddled. To attempt to answer why G-d created the world in one video or a book is foolish in the least hand. But if it means anything to you my Rabbi used to say thank G-d for 3 things: computers, China and Chabad. To elaborate in order - we today know how computers work, we make them and with the rise of AI we can understand more closely how G-d made the world, essentially us being the AI put inside animal bodies and just like we are curious if that AI can achieve consciousness also G-d made an intervention called language and speech making it possible for us to develop naturally, but G-d is furthermore interested in seeing whether we can achieve morality as His personal AI. That doesn't make us the only project and it's quite possible there are others in some other places in the universe. Secondly China - because they are the perfect example of what happens when a nation is left entirely to itself without or with minimal divine involvement, they advance, but in a totally (totalitarian) way, replacing what should be G-d with humans and giving up their personal freedom which is only truly granted when we fully serve G-d because then we do not accept to serve mankind. Thirdly Chabad - this is because we can precisely see with our own eyes how Christianity came to the world. Just like some Hellenized ignoramus with daddy issues called Paul came 2k years ago and started a religion which he tried to sell to Jews (except the very stupid, uninformed or altogether divorced from Judaism), but seeing that he couldn't he then turned to Gentiles who had (and still have) either none or close to zero understanding of Jewish matters and spirituality. This is exactly what some Chabad people are doing, by proclaiming their deceased Rabbi as the Messiah or even G-d. And Manis, your friend, is Paul - selling his nonsense and personal mental and philosophical issues to ignorant masses who will pay the price. Someone this manipulative and exploitative is simply evil, and my heartfelt advice to you is to delete this video or denounce it and simply retreat from involving yourself in this ever again.

      thank you for the advice, I'll look at the video again and decide. I will add this though because it is true either way: 1) R Friedman is a Torah scholar, but he has chosen a non-conventional Kiruv approach, with some issues and legitimate criticism is valid. In Kiruv there is room given by Jewish leaders, and it must be determined if R Friedman's ideas have crossed the lines of heresy. I personally spoke to 2 gedolim in this - one concludes that R Friedman has crossed the lines - though he accepts that he himself is not a heretic but making a mistake. -- The other concluded that R Friedman though controversial and provocative - is perhaps at the border -BUT DID NOT CROSS THE LINE. I hope this is helpful all the best And like I said I will view the video again to determine it it is better that that it not be viewed. I admit I only watched part of it a felt it was fine, but I'll check the rest.

      Yes, and his opinion represents a Torah. Jew that this channel accepts. But his is not the only Torah opinion there are rabbis Litvish, Sefardic and Chabad that give a psak that he is kosher and his teachings are kosher. Though they recognize criticism of his style is legitimate and his statements on reward and punishment went too far, they give a ruling that he is still kosher. 1 reason is that in a recent video interview with Rabbi Botton R Friedman clarifies that he agrees that a soul can suffer in hell or reincarnation he considers the main purpose as a rectification. This proves that he is not at all a heretic - though this channel agrees that his original statement of the video clip is problematic. The guy who owns this channel seems to enjoy going after Rabbi Reuven. The truth is he would not last 5 minutes in a debate with Rabbi Yaron Reuven. Manis Friedman would not last much longer. There is a reason why they've refused debating Rabbi Reuven. With that being said, there is a much more important question to ask ourselves: How many Baal Teshuva has Manis Friedman make VS Rabbi Yaron Reuven? The fact of the matter is Rabbi Reuven has brought thousands (if not more) people closer to Torah observance and mitzvot. I have personally met dozens of jews who stopped wasting seed, got closer to torah observance through the videos of Rabbi Reuven. I have yet to meet one who has been positively influenced by Rabbi Friedman. The numbers don't lie. The reason Rabbi Reuven has been so adamant in going after Manis Friedman is because of the danger his "philosophy" represents to the jewish world and because of his credentials: He is a rabbi with a long white beard, who has been endorsed by Chabad in the past (and still is today to some extent) and who holds extremely dangerous views. As another viewer pointed out, he is practically creating his own religion and going against basic oral law (talmud). His victims however are primarily ashkenazim from the US. He does very little to no damage to Sepharadic communities. As a jew of moroccan descent who grew up in Europe, I can tell you why: we have received a basic religious education that shields us from this type of heresy. And I am not talking about religious sepharadim. I am talking about your average traditional sepharadic jew. We also grew up in constant defense of our jewish identity. American jews are just starting to discover that. America on the other hand has turned many ahskenzi jews into weak vessels, prone to receiving false and even heretic information. This is why Rabbi Reuven and Rabbi Mizrachi are speaking out. Having known them personally, I am pretty sure they would rather speak more words of Divrei Torah and teach Gemara than to constantly warn people about Manis Friedman's teachings. But they feel duty bound (and rightfully so) to do it because simply no one else is doing it to the extent that they are.

      @BarKochba555 4 дня назад

      @@divinewisdomliveabetterlif3511 On that point, you can go to my comment below on Rabbi Feldman calling him an Ame Aretz (an ignorant person). Rabbi Reuven can quote the Gemara by heart and on demand, something Manis Friedman cannot do. Rav Reuven's rabbi, Rabbi Kachlon is a serious Talmid chacham who was close to Rav Ovadia Yosef and has been endorsed by his son Rav Yitzhak Yosef, all sources that are far more widely accepted and serious than Manis Friedman. My assessment on Rabbi Reuven smoking Manis Friedman at any debate is based on several decades on this earth, living on three different continents, building two successful businesses and acquiring sufficient life experiences which has led me to detect frauds vs the real deal. Manis Friedman is no real deal. He is playing the same game many people are playing: He sounds nice, seems nice but the content of his speech is full of nonsense and in this case heresy. Rabbi Reuven is not interested in people liking him or in building the largest youtube following. He is interested in Emet, truth. Whether you like him personally is a byproduct, not the actual goal. Based on my experience, it is much easier to get by in life by being "nice" to everything and everyone than by spreading the truth. But those who choose the latter end up becoming the leaders who's memory will last throughout the generations.

Actually, in this piece of land there has been everything, EXCEPT A PALESTINIAN STATE. (Borrowed from a friend) A little more history for those wanting to 'restore Palestine'. In 132 AD the Emperor Hadrian resolved to stamp the Jews and their religion out of existence. He sold all Jewish prisoners into slavery after the revolt of Bar Kikhba, forbade the teaching of the Torah, renamed the province Syria Palaestina, and changed Jerusalem’s name to Aelia Capitolina. He renamed Israel to wipe out the national identity of Israel and the Jews. So if you are looking to 'restore Palestine to the Palestinians', you need to give it back to the Jews.

    Literally in the Gemara Sanhedrin 37: “The World Was Created for Me.” Once again this rabbi puts his own ideas and “novel” clickbait titles above what our sages have taught us.

      This is what written in Sanhedrin 37a 16: "And this serves to tell of the greatness of the Holy One, Blessed be He, as when a person stamps several coins with one seal, they are all similar to each other. But the supreme King of kings, the Holy One, Blessed be He, stamped all people with the seal of Adam the first man, as all of them are his offspring, and not one of them is similar to another. Therefore, since all humanity descends from one person, each and every person is obligated to say: THE WORLD WAS CREATED FOR ME, as one person can be the source of all humanity, and recognize the significance of his actions".

      You are correct but for Kiev and when talking to people with no connection with the tradition, I don’t see an issue leaving out cumbersome sources. But for religious crowds he should mention sources.

      The end of that Idea is that "I was created to serve my master" the center is Hashem. The person must realize how important he is to Hashem so much that the whole world was created for him (... To serve Hashem)

    In some other speeches by Rabbi Friedman he kind of explained more about "we dont need g-d" by saying(Ive summarized it): I need to eat, i need to sleep, i need to have a job and i got to pray for my needs to be fulfilled otherwise im doomed. But these are not our needs, were we to create ourselves we wouldnt include these handicaps, g-d designed us this way as part of his plan, therefore "we dont need anything". After realizing the goodness within this whole creation and creator we really do want these needs with passion

      I agree with you and in the video E Botton says the same thing. But I think on this point R Friedmans opinions are not heretical but certainly we don’t all need to agree with everything he says. It’s the yelling and screaming at him that is out of line.
