Snap-gun tips, and tricks to help you improve
Просмотров 6909 часов назад
This video should show some things you may have not thought about when using a snap-gun. Watch this video, and get some practice in, you will improve. I really enjoy these snap-guns. I have made them out of bike spokes, and coat hangers. Both work well. (the bicycle spokes do look the best) If you're reading this, and the video was helpful, or entertaining, or even mildly amusing and you haven'...

This is one of a few ways I've customized tension wrenches. Weather you would want to do this, or not. It's up to you. I just wanted to share this project with you, and maybe it will give you some of your own ideas on how to customize them. Later one I plan on adding to this, and show other ways I have customized/personalized My tensioners. If you're reading this, and the video was helpful, or ...

Well done Chris 😍🕺 you're Awesome ❤️ Fabulous package Rook mate 💕 🍻 🍻 🍻 🍻 🍻 🍻 🍻
Wow, that's an incredible mail call. Something truly special. Beautiful Federals!
I am glad you like all the locks. 😃 I have picked all except the Black DD lock and the smiley face lock. The Unity is a simple challenge lock I did as a proof of concept. Happy picking 🐈⬛🐾👍
Wow what an incredible package from Chris! So many goodies in there. Enjoy!
Congrats, As far I C U had an early xmas... Congrats
Unbelievable, hey, Cris, don't forget me!
Truly amazing. Such an awesome package. And a suki lock as well!!!chris , yiure a legend. Happy picking brother knight 🫶👌🫶🤜🤛
Just a great man.
Great video, Chris is way better than birthday presents…I’m so jealous..
Woody Woodpecker strikes again. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
We are ask stunned watching you reveal each lock. I bet that package was ton weight, the poor postie 😂 Good old Chris 😃👍
amazing stuff!
This is really cool. I never gave snap guns much thought once I learned about EPGs, but you present it really well and it makes me want to create one to play with It and keep it around. I’ll go back to your earlier videos to find instructions 😊
Thanks Chirael, snap-guns make for a fun project, and they're great for practicing fundamentals for EPGs too if you think about it. They're kinda like the original, or 0.1 EPG lol. I have also been on a quest to try making the cleanest looking snap-gun I can make. That's still a work in progress, speaking of, if you do want to make one, this lady's video blows anything I've done out of the water ruclips.net/video/B1n0gvbeDE4/видео.htmlsi=bVaPAC6EPnNEfDjy this will explain it better then any videos I made, and it's better then any videos I've seen so far. Thanks for commenting bro, have a great week ahead.
@@RookKnight thank you so much, yes that video is great and I bookmarked it :) Are the spinners just copper tubing? And what’s their diameter?
Yep just round copper tubes, I want with 8mm OD 0.5mm wall, but you could go even smaller if you liked, say 6mm, and it would probably be fine. (To each other own) And for the bike spokes I used, were made from #45 steel , and 14 gage 309mm. It would be better to get the longest you can find witch is just one more mm. 310mm (but I couldn't find any with a reasonable delivery time) Hope that helps. Have a good one brother 👍🏻
Love the handles on the tension wrench!
Thanks brother, not to shabby for homemade right 😁👍🏻 Hope you're enjoying your evening.
I’m. Surprised mcnallyofficial hasn’t picked a master combo lock like that
To be fair, I can't remember the brand name on this particular combo lock, it was one of the many off brands that are sold.
I’ve never ever seen someone do it that way and I don’t know why😊
I was surprised on how many off brands are susceptible to this attack. Another reason to spend a few dollars more when purchasing a lock 👍🏻
I made my with a handle (loop on the bottom) look like a gun. I never had any tubing also single loop not a double loop coil. The one I use is over 25 years old still works.
Very nice, I have seen a few different designs for them. As well as being made from a few different materials. As long as it works, that's all that matters 👍🏻 Have a good rest of your weekend.
great job as always
Thank you my friend. Good to hear from you. Enjoy your weekend brother 🤜🏻🤛🏻
great tips!
Really appreciate it Dana!! Have a wonderful weekend my friend 👍🏻
Awesome tips for the homemade snap gun. Rook Knight the snappy dresser...oh ermm I mean snappy picker 😂😂😂😂 Love your tips and tricks Rook, have one me getting out of doing the dishes? 😂
That's a tough one, I will have to get back to you on that LoL From one snappy picker to another, I thank you my friend for being awesome 😎 Hope you have a fantastic weekend bro💨🤜🏻💥🤛🏻💨
Just realised, I thought it was your teeth chattering but it was the lock 🤣
I don't know, it could have been my 🦷teeth🦷 LMAO 🤣😂 Hope you have a good weekend brother 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Some great tips, I love seeing the evolution of ideas 👌all the best and have a great weekend buddy 🤘🤜🤛👍
Thanks brother. I'm hoping it will save some time for others. I was going to cannibalize the first two, but thought it would be useful to show them before I did. Have a great weekend too my friend, thanks again.
PS love the new profile picture 🐶❤️👍🏻
@@RookKnight thanks my friend 🙏🍻
Nice one Rook mate ♥️ Yeah, the paracord handle works great, I put one on my survival kit hacksaw blade 👍 I must have a go at making one of these picks one day. All the very best to you and yours, have a great weekend 🙏🏻❤️🕺🍻
Thanks Tinnie I like the idea of a hacksaw blade. I braided a handle for a jigsaw blade I have for a mini survival kit, but didn't think about a hacksaw blade. Well I will be adding hacksaw blades to my shopping list now lol. Thanks for the idea 💡👍🏻 All the best to you, and yours my fine friend 🤜🏻🤛🏻
@@RookKnight mine is short and fits into an Altoids tin!
ohh that's neat. I wish this app let you post pictures in the comments, I would like to see it, and I could show you my jigsaw one. I like the idea of using the altoids tin too. Catch you later brother
@@RookKnight yes I agree, posting pics in the comments would be great 👍
I always keep a goodly stock of bicycle spokes and windscreen wiper blades you never know when inspiration will strike churrs Brother RK!
We are on the same page brother! I do the same thing. Hope your weekend is a good one my friend 👍🏻👍🏻
Is this black snap pick made from bicycle spokes? How many turns do you put the spring? What is the inner diameter of the loop? What is the length of the lever arm that you snap? BTW, you could put small axle collar to act as a stop for the small finger shaft. Or, put a small 90 degree bend after the shaft.
I like that idea about the collar. This one is made from a bike spoke, you want the longest ones they sell, which are 310mm (I couldn't find ones to ship in a decent amount of time, so I ended up getting the 309mm, but they worked just fine) the loop/spring is 13mm, and just one 360⁰ turn. The lever arm is about 2 inch (enough to fit the 2 - 1" copper piping, and maybe a mm or so to make sure it spins freely. Also look into getting looping pliers they make the spring/loop look so much more professional/clean looking then just bending it around something like a large drill bit. If I missed anything just let me know. Have a good weekend brother.
@@RookKnight Good explanation. Thanks.
@laurenarndt464 happy to help, catch you later bro
@@RookKnight Apparently bike spokes come in a variety of metals. I would think stainless steel is the most common (less susceptible to rust), but having worked with stainless piano wire, I know it has less spring temper. What metal do you recommend?
I had to double check, but the ones I got say they're made with 45 steel. It seems to do the trick. It's strong, but still malleable, and holds the shape its put in to. Only thing I don't know if there's something better out there. In this situation, It was more of a happy accident that I got what I got, and it worked.
So very cool 😅👏👏👏🐈⬛🐾👍
Thanks brother 😁👍🏻 Hope you have a great weekend 💨🤜🏻💥🤛🏻💨
Thank you!! I know you are going to have a great weekend and beyond!!!😂🐈⬛🐾👍
@chriscapune7873 sounds like a plan to me 😁👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Thank you for checking it out. Have a good weekend ❗
just got my own sparrows disc detainer, now have to try make that. any tips for making it? what you use to make tensioner? thanks for answer
Very nice! I have the SouthOrd pen, it's a nice little thing to have with me along with one of my locks just to mess around when I'm visiting friends or family. If you ever pick it up, you can even do what I did and modify a ToK tensioner to fit inside of it to give you more options
Another cool idea from the RK school of invention 😊👌🤜🤛👍
thanks brother.. I appreciate the very kind words. Hope you have a great week ahead my friend 🤜🏻🤛🏻
the speed at which you can pick these locks is inspiring. im just now learning how to lockpick, and seeing you annihilate those with ease genuinely makes me excited to get better at this hobby. thank you for this video!
Thank you, I really appreciate your comment. I was in the same spot as you. All you need is practice, and some time. You will definitely be just as good, or probably better 👍🏻👍🏻 have a great week ahead!
I'm legit to open locks at work and it's legal to carry them here, but best is to not have to answer questions. I might be doing this for EDC instead of having to dig my picks out from hiding places in the truck.
I feel the same way, Im not a big fan of flaunting that I pick locks IRL, I rather fly under the radar, then be looked at as suspicious, or something. Now I would never misuse my tools, or knowledge, but not everyone is understanding of that. Like you were saying, the less questions the better 👍🏻
Where’d you get this!? Or you made it??
I ended up making it, I cut it apart. Then cut out a piece of plastic to replace the back.
The Rook-Knight has done it again! That lock was definitely picked! It stood no chance. Congratulations!
Thank you for the kind words brother. Hope you're enjoying your weekend 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Very Slick!
Thanks brother 😁👍🏻
That's a nice setup to make it a little more realistic
Thanks brother, this is what I use for practicing. It portable, so i set it everywhere from the ground, to a high shelf to practice picking. That way I can sit, stand, or crouch why picking, or even reaching over my head. It's definitely sharpened my skills. Hope you're enjoying your day my friend 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Very clever-I love the lack of rattling, that's the issue on so many of these!!
Thanks Jeff, it sometimes take a second to get them to kinda lock in, but after that it's rattle free. I really think you could hand this to someone, and they wouldn't even notice the slight weight difference. Hope I'm you're enjoying the weekend, amd congratulations on the Pure Blood win brother 🎉👏🏻👍🏻I was so happy to see you snagged it.
Great idea love this😃
Glad to hear that, thank you. Have a good weekend 👍🏻
Very neat
Thanks Southpaw my friend. Hope you have a good weekend!! 😁
Wow. I am trying to modify lishis at the moment, so thank you for the video, that is very helpful! Did you modify the pick itself as well?
Thanks!!, very glad to hear the video was a little helpful. I didn't modify anything after I replacement the picking profile. It worked great ofter the replacement, so I didn't want to mess with anything after that.
Diabolical !
Thanks! Simple, but effective. All about flying under the radar 😁👍🏻 have a great weekend brother!
Great covert pen. Easy to make and carry.👍🦊
Very simple, but effective, and those little replacement picks can be stashed in all sorts of places. Pen, wallet, shoe, watch pocket, or how about those altoid tins, I wish I thought about that. I would have mentioned it in the video. Shucks, anyways, Hope you have a good weekend my friend, take care Jack 🦊
Big Bic energy.
LMFAO 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thanks for the laugh, have a great weekend bro
Great video!
Thanks PIk, the cool thing with these little replacement picks, we can hide them anywhere. Pens are just the beginning lol. Hope you have a great weekend brother 🤜🏻🤛🏻
@RookKnight might put one in my locker at work. It good how it actually functions as a pen 👍
Yes sir, locker, pen, wallet, shoe, makeup case(for the ladys) watch pockets, and that's just the start. Those Southord pens are really nice, bit on the heavy side, but really well made. 💨🤜🏻💥🤛🏻💨
The BI-Covert pen by Rook Knight 😉 Always handy to carry a pen.... this gives that bit extra.
Fly under the radar, with the bi-covert pen 🖊️ in store February 7 2025 lmao 😂🤣 We are going to be rich Roy, rich I tell you. (Haha) Hope all is well brother, have a great weekend my friend.
@@RookKnightRich who? Is he a good guy? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@roysammons2445 lmao 👍🏻
Totally awesome 😅👏👏👏🐈⬛🐾👍
Thanks brother, I was looking at those tactical pens with picks inside, but they're way to obvious. With this, you could probably hand it to someone, and they wouldn't think twice, and it's much cheaper then those tac pens. Hope you, and Slinky have a great weekend my friend 👍🏻
The pen is mightier than the sword... and the cumbersome pick gun! Very nice Rook mate 👍 Cheers, all the best to you and yours and have a jolly good weekend 🍻 🍻 🍻
I wish I thought of that pen is mightier bit, I would have said it in the video, darn. Always appreciate you stopping in brother. All the best to you, and yours too. Have a great weekend, and thank you. 💨🤜🏻💥🤛🏻💨
Lovely field expedient Churrs RK!
Thanks brother! Hope you have a wonderful weekend 🤜🏻🤛🏻
