how to autopupulate drawn by and checked by without typing it in custome property . we are using pdm and if i create a file then there shoud be some record which i can pull in to drawing
@ankitlad3870 Would it be the same people drawing and checking? If so, then I would replace the custom properties with edit sheet format and make them permanent in your drawing template!
Thank you so much sir👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊

Hello, thank you so much for this video, I've learned a lot and it's very helpful :) I have a question about the part 'Boss Body Pattern'. Everything works fine until 7:22 min. How do you insert the body? Or where does it come from? Unfortunately I can't find it. Could you explain this part in detail? Or do you know where I can learn more about that? I would be very grateful! Thank you again for your video. Best, Viktor
@inkognito2318 Hi Viktor! Great question and I'm surprised no one asked it previously. I just placed a concentric sketch in the circular cut and used the Extrude command but uncheck "merge result" under the measurement. This created the "noodle" in the center of the circle, however, you could have sketched it anywhere within the container sketch and it would have worked. Hope this helps!
You can also change the settings in registry of the SOLIDWORKS performance tab and add any Graphics Card you have (even built-in intel HD graphics) and it will activate the real view graphics..
Thank you for the input! Luckily, I didn't have to change registry settings but this is useful for those that need to work around it that way.

I just want to create one field that I can later write whatever I want in it. I have not find anything that shows that. All I see in the entire internet is "automatic" fill up title block fields... Any tip?
@Ele Hello! If you want one field that you can manually enter something into, you just need to put a text box into your sheet template. That way every time you open the template, that field is there and is blank. Hope that helps! If you need more help, feel free to contact me.
You can also add excel style spreadsheets into your drawing template and do the same thing

How do you add "$PRPSHEET:{xxxxxx}" to the title sheet?... How to add/edit an auto fill command to the title sheet?.... A very good video! Thanks!
@blacknumber01 Thanks for the positive reply! Are you asking questions or suggesting a new title for the video? Hope it helped.
Do you know how to allow partial patterns (/entities?) within the sketch?
Kyle, I'm not sure what you're referring to as partial, however, if you do not want to use all the instances generated, you can click on the "instances to skip" tab. There, highlight the instances you don't want active and hit the green check mark! Hope this helps. If not, please PM me and I can start a conversation to help.

@@ArbajManyar-786Hello Arbaj, is there a question?
hi great video very helpful. however i am running into an issue when trying to create my fill. i have already created the hole in center and created a boundary line in a seperate sketch but when i am creating the fill pattern feature i am receiving an error that says "the direction selected for the area fill should be parallel to the contour" i cant tell what i am doing wrong but what exactly is 'the contour'? not sure how to remedy this problem.
Hey Blake! Is the sketch plane of your boundary line parallel to the plane of the hole? It has to be on a parallel plane, even if above or below the feature you are trying to pattern. Let me know if this solves your issue. If not, feel free to message or email me!

Hello, can you please tell me with what line do you draw that conture lines? Line, centerline,...? Which else lines exist? You draw that lines in sketch or somewhere else? Thank you in advance! 😊
Hello Domagoj! The sketch lines are just regular lines drawn with the line tool, not centerlines. They must be regular lines to allow SolidWorks to define a solid boundary to contain your fill pattern. Yes, the boundary outlines are drawn on a sketch and then I use those sketches to define the fill boundary for the pattern. Hope that helps!

Just curious, do you think fill patterns, when being used to create texturing for parts, is kind of obsolete in solidworks? I feel like I'd much rather just use the 3D texture tool that was added in 2019. I guess unless I wanted to make a custom never before made pattern that couldn't be found online and imported as a 3D texture image. Feel like for most cases though, the 3D texture tool is the way to go
It depends on your preference and the complexity of the texture. If it's a simple knurling texture contained within a sketch, then using extrusions to a point will definitely simplify the surfacing. Introducing mesh makes the surface less accurate and "muddy" to a point as you've lost some of the mathematical control of the geometry. This video was mainly focusing on how to use the fill command for cuts and potentially for extrusions. There's always 100 ways to solve a problem and you just gave those not familiar with the 3D texture tool another way!

Hey I keep getting an error saying failed to validate instance count any idea why?
Hi Camilo! Are you trying to use a cut out or a solid body? That will help determine some next steps!
This is a great help. Thank you for sharing cheers to you.

When I am trying to select the sketch on body ,say, hut ,then when I am applying the fill pattern it is not showing any hole Whereas if I am selecting a surface then it's completely fine Please help
Is the sketch projected onto the body or is the sketch on a flat plane? The sketch for the first cut out must be planar (on a flat plane) in order to successfully fill a solid. You can try to create a sketch plane parallel to what you are cutting through and the fill pattern should work. Hope that helps! Please PM me with an example file so that I can assist you further if needed.
