Did anyone else get to college and have a sudden realization that all dudes on campus just intuitively dap up at every meetup? Also: I'm in Tennessee and "the weird thing Californians do" has been here for like at least a decade and usually when I notice something it's old news. What I've learned is that due largely to the Internet *place* is losing its *place-ness* much more prolifically than the beginning of popular culture (TV first becoming popular in homes). Whether I'm on the East coast or West coast, the culture isn't strikingly different. I will say that it seems like the social fabric of West coast cities might be a bit worse, but then again, you have the mess that is NYC so...

Dap is not supposed to have that feminine handshake at the end. You lock your fingers tight at the end, and sometimes snap, but not so much anymore. Never a lady-like handshake at the end though.

This isn't a thing in my country so when I studied in the USA, it was a bit of culture shock. Also yes I'm antisocial sometimes too haha. Rather do a handshake, fist or just wave. I just find it weird sometimes. Like one time I was in the library and a dozen of guys got together and they were coming in one by one and for like 30 minutes they were just doing this as one new guy comes in everytime lol. Why not just wave, say hey and get it done haha.
