Trying out my rescued Technics SU 7700 Stereo Integrated Amplifier. Good clean up inside and out, cleaned pots, contacts with some Deoxit and this amp is sounding like brand new. This is now my main amp to listen to vinyl.

Nice dub in the background man!
I like this Sound big turn
I have just got into vinyl and have developed a cleaning technique a little like yours. 1. First, check the surface for visible dust. Do not clean if there is a lot of dust, for this might scratch the surface. Treat the surface with an antistatic device (in my case, an arc lighter) and then carbon fibre brush the thing before cleaning. 2. Wrap an LP box set of some sort in a large clean plastic bag. Place the LP on the wrapped box. Cover the label with a pre-prepared circle of plastic cut from a takeaway box to protect it from excessive moisture. 3. Spray the whole side several times with vinyl cleaning fluid. Uncover the label. Wrap an optometrist's microfibre cloth tightly around your index finger with no wrinkles. Work from the outside of the record inward, pressing fairly hard, mostly anticlockwise but with plenty of retrograde strokes to move and wet the dirt. Then do the other side. 4. Cover the label again. Spray the record liberally with lots of distilled water. This will encourage raised dirt to flow off the surface rather than get left as a residue. Do the other side. 5. Place the LP in a plastic dish rack to dry. (The plastic unlike metal will not scratch the LP). Do a bunch more LPs in the same way and dry them at once. 6. When the LP is dry, use a cheap turntable set to 78RPM to play the whole record with the volume off. I call this process "ploughing", because the needle will plough up an incredible amount of stuff, either smeared by the cloth into the grooves, or turned to a putty by the liquids and waiting to be raised. The 78RPM will halve the time taken. 7. Each time you finish ploughing a side, carbon-fibre brush the whole side with a damp brush. You will be amazed how much gunk is ploughed out of the grooves and ends up on the brush at this point. Also clean the stylus after each side if possible, and marvel at the grey slime that pops off it. The record is now clean (ish). 8. The first few times you play the record you might still get the odd bit of gunk get ploughed up. A clue is if you still get crackles now and again. Just keep up with the carbon fibre brush until the record seems clean.
⚘️ ? 💯 ❤️🙏x
Blessings keep up bro
good Info, ty sir
Ι use 99.9 isopropyl alcohol diluted with distilled water. If you use 91% what is the rest 9%?
Water.
Is the color of the towel important? I just spray alcohol on an original disc Washer to himidfy it and I can see how much dust it removes. Simple and effective. I hand clean those that are incredibly dirty with alcohol and a micro fiber cloth.
The CD case is a great tip. Thank you sir.

Tear the tags off the cloths. Those aren't soft.

Why not add the rinse aid to the rinse water as well?
Excellent :-)
LONG time Nina fan, since hearing her while watching Point of No Return 1993. One of the reasons I got in to Jeff Buckley (Lilac Wine cover). Nothing like the crackle of vinyl. Also love "The Gal From Joe's", & "Work Song" among many others.
a cloth??? come on!!! buy a RCM to vacuum! I recommend the KAV EV1 under $200.
Never heard of it...
I recommend doing what I did. I researched DIY record cleaning machines & stumbled upon the Vinyl Vac system. However instead of buying a vinyl vac, I just made my own! I uploaded a video on my channel demonstrating it. It's not the best video/demonstration, but I originally made the video to show a friend of mine how I do it & how I made it. Literally the ONLY 2 things in my system/regime I paid for was the record brush & cleaning fluid.
I also recommend that if anyone does what I did or something similar, to practice on a few records you don't really care about or aren't worth anything so you can get a feel for it, figure out what to do/what not to do. But that being said, it's pretty simple but effective.
If you are going to mix the alcool with water... Why buy 91% ? Any concentration would do....
magik I assume you must know what you’re talking about and can provide reasons why any alcohol would do. However, as you can find in most cleaning solutions they use alcohol. It actually should be even higher, instead of 91% it should be 98-99%. Isopropyl alcohol, distilled water and a small quantity of detergent are an effective and safe record cleaning solution.
I did not intend to contradict, and I actually agree with you. As long as it is a mix of Isopropyl and water it's "OK" - Some alcools sold under the appellation of 70% or 50% may actually contain other ingredients which can leave a residue on the record. Thanks for your video.
@@magik8566 you answered your own question...
Alcohol & pvc don't mix well. Google it yourself. I prefer a fluid that doesn't contain alcohol not only for that reason, but I also like to let the fluid set for a while, so it helps break up any stubborn crud on the record & you can't do that with an alcohol based fluid because the alcohol evaporates too quickly. I also researched DIY record cleaning machines & found out about the Vinyl Vac...instead of buying a vinyl vac, I just made my own version of it. & it works great. I have a video here on my channel demonstrating it for a friend of mine.
@@jesusgavemeaids I agree, do you happen to have your own homemade formula?
