In this episode I install my Bayson R AP2 lip after it was paint matched. Ended up being a perfect fit. Hit up a couple of meets over the weekend as well. ik this video is old but CAN I DO THIS ON MY 14 CIVIC SI TOO? it's got the same exact head unit !!!!!!! i been searching and searching how to get carplay on the stock head !
I just tried it and couldn't get it to work. I tried multiple thumb drives. I keep getting the error "USB Problem. Please try again." . Has anybody had this issue? It is formatted to FAT32 and it's only a 1GB drive.

Worked a dream! The first USB i tried the unit couldnt read it. Tried a different one and away it went. No issues and such a sweet upgrade. THANKS!!
Question. I just updated to an iPhone 16. This one uses usb-c to connect instead of lightning port.It seems that is not connecting now. Any suggestions- I used different cables.😢
Installed in September 2024, works perfect. I did not disconnect the gray compass cable and so far it’s working perfectly.

16-09-2024, I guess it does not work on (2016 Honda CRV Touring) did all the steps but usb failed to recognize, downloaded software, usb 2.0 and higher, renamed usb, but failed to work.
this only works on the non-navigation system. the touring will not work. maybe if you replace the head unit with another oem head unit without the navigation will it work
I followed every step with my 2016 Honda CR-V Touring and this did not work. Once USB was plugged in the update prompt never came up. I tried several different methods with no luck.

Do you have some magic SW and guide for a 2017 CR-V EL with navigation? The preinstalled navigation is lagging a lot and no Carplay.

Hi I have tried to do the CarPlay upgrade to my 2016 Honda CRV and it is not doing the software update. I have formatted usb,Fat 32,downloaded the software from your link and put usb drive in car usb port. Nothing is happening. Is the update still working? My stereo has factory navigation,is that why it is not working? Please help
it won't work on navigation system. i read that the navigation takes up the memory. so, installing carplay will not work as there is not enough space
I tried exactly the same process, I am getting the issue "USB Problem. Please try again" as soon as I insert the pendrive named USB20FD with the provided software only present in the pendrive.
Installed sept 2024. Works fine. Although, I didn’t have to do the gps cable disconnect. It just worked fine. My CarPlay maps still able to route to my location just fine
Sept 2024, and still worked great! After downloading the software to the drive make sure you change the name and format it to FAT32 first. Just follow the instructions on the video and you’re golden!
Does the phone have to be plugged in? Or can it work with Bluetooth?

I see some wireless CarPlay adaptors on Amazon that plug into USB. I wonder if that would work okay

Wow seriously man huge thanks, I wish we did this years ago. Can’t believe everything you showed still works exactly the same today. Love it and can’t wait to use it everyday, feels like a new car again lol

you say you have an ex so I don't understand where you are pulling the compass cable from because that is my blind side mirror camera on my ex. Can you specify please
Please! Does anyone know which where to unplug the compass on 2016 ex that has side camera plug in the spot that video shows being compass. Mine is the side camera and beneath it is the backup camera. The other wires are all pigtail...don't see any other single gray wire...please help...I have the program downloaded fine..just trouble google maps going crazy because of the compass.
Now I got the firmware installed...I don't find the compass cable on the back of my unit...I have the compass wire on the back like shown in the video I have a side blind spot camera; anyone else have this? Mine is an ex with no navigation...but back of radio seems to have more wires. Help please!

Yes! It’s totally fine. Put at the pendrive and do as the video tell you to do so. Super easy I just did and it works really well. One thing that the video don’t tell you is that you need a usb cable charging your phone to this to work. But other than that is super helpful the Video!

Thank you soo much worked like a charm. I did not unplug the compass wire and the maps, both apple and google are working flawless so far. So is the compass. If anything changes, I will update about it Update: maps stopped working properly. I guess the compass wire will have to be taken out. Was worth a shot
