Pickled Green Tomatoes with Hot Peppers-Suburban Appalachia Channel
I just started some grape leaf pickles, using your recipe. Where in NC are you? I’m in Winston-Salem.
Thank you for the video. ❤
Good recipe? My mama used this way all the time I know what you are talking about
Made them in pass
Thank you for sharing. Just destroyed 3 tomato plants that were sick. Wish I had seen this sooner but will use the treatment in the future when needed.
Can you use a couple apples instead of vinegar?
That's why I make them spears, you can pack more cukes in the jar.
Don't you have to waterbath it
@@lauraleeharden8358 Thanks for watching my videos. You can do a hot water bath if you would like. When I did this batch my zucchini butter was hot and my jars were very hot as well. They had no problems sealing. If your butter is cool and your jars are cool, you will need a hot water bath. Hope this helps to clarify. Best wishes on your recipe
I have an Uncle named Hyder Kiser down there, I remember probably 50 years ago he would come to our house and he would head out to the back room where the crock was, He sure liked that pickled corn.
Wonderful memories! Thanks for watching my videos. God bless you and your family.
How long do the pickles have to set before eating
Thanks for watching my videos. I like for them to sit for at least two weeks. It gives it time to pickle and the flavors to develope. Hope your pickling goes well
@@suburbanappalachia4308 21 quarts. Fingers crossed🌻
Amazing recipe thank u So Much❤❤
Thanks for watching my videos. I appreciate it. God bless you.
About how many treatments and about how many days apart? Thank you so much.
After injection, do I water the plants? I Am new to gardening and want to be successful. God is good.
@@lillianjohnson6342 Thanks for watching my videos. I would do 3-4 treatments over eight to nine days. Then follow up with 1/4 cup just poured on the soil around the plant. You can water as normal. Hope this works for you.
@@lillianjohnson6342 God has been so good to us! Praise Jesus.
Do you cook the corn at all before pickling it in the brine?
Thanks for watching my videos, no you do not cook the corn, it ferments in the brine to preserve it. Hope the recipe goes well for you.
Oh my God... that's incredible...
Thanks for such an easy recipe. Love these with pintos. BTW Iwas born and raised in Spartanburg at Spartan Mills.Looking forward to seeing more recipes.
Need more videos, hope all is well
Hoping to get back to making videos very soon. Was sick all of last year. Doing better now, praise the Lord. Thanks for watching my videos and for the encouragement. Be back soon.
That is amazing! I’ve pulled several bell peppers because of this, I will have to attempt to save any more that show signs. Again, amazing results! Thank you!
Brother you just gained a new follower. This was simple and felt like a friend was showing me how to do it. I love these tomatoes. My great grandpa always had this with Sunday lunch
Omg i can’t wait to make some.. thank you so much for it. I just came across it. I subscribed to your channel
How many days in between treatments?
I would do them 2-3 days a part. Then follow up with about 1/4 cup of peroxide poured on the ground near the roots
How many days in between treatments?
Thanks for watching my videos. I would do it every two days.
How many days in between treatments?
Can you post this recipe?
These are the best tomatoes.. love them with pinto beans and cornbread..!!!!!!❤
That's a wonderful experiment. I just pulled all of my known diseased tomatoes yesterday because they're all in one bed. If another individual plant comes down sick I'm going to give this a shot. I have all the stuff you used on hand anyways. I'm going to try flooding the soil with lactobacillus to see if I can prevent the spread though for now. I'm very impressed with your results!
That’s for sharing this is my second year of going through this tomato wilt disaster. I really do appreciate you sharing
💚 from the middle of W.V. fixin to pickle
OMG! Amazing! I struggle with wilt here in the Florida Panhandle! Lost a dozen plants already this spring! Going to try this! Thank you!
All my tomatoes got infected. I tried it (even if it's not really easy to inject a liquid INSIDE the plant) and half of them have completely recovered
My Grandmother always made this, and I loved them with my beans and cornbread. How long do they have to sit to be ready to eat?
Thanks for watching my videos. I like for them to sit for at least two weeks. This gives the tomatoes time to get the pickled taste and for the pepper flavor to distribute in the jar
@@suburbanappalachia4308 Thank you!
Them chips is good on a peanut butter sandwich too.
They look great !👍
Does the corn taste different when it's processed,or is it better when it isn't processed???
Thanks for watching my video. When the corn gets the flavor you want, if you process it then, the flavor is captured. Processing it will keep it from spoiling for a longer shelf life. If you do not process it, I recommend storing it in a refrigerator. I have noticed over the last few years, that no foods keep as long as they used to. I see no difference in the flavor after you process it. Hope this helps.
@suburbanappalachia4308 yes it does thank you so much. I started some yesterday
Also did you heat the brine at all to dissolve the salt. Sorry!! It looked so good I just don't want to ruin it.
I've never had pickled corn before. I really want to do it an taste it. Thanks for the video an information. Great job.
Hi, did you dilute the solution with water?
Looks like a transplant that wilted until the roots got established 😊
welldone sir... can i have your contact?
Can this treatment be used on plants not infected by a wilt as a preventative measure of the attack?
a soil drench might be effective as a preventative
Hahaha,so amazing!!! That's a big breakthrough 4 what has been bothering me 4 over years. Thanks 4 shearing. God bless.😄
How long do they stay on shelf ? I just made my first batch. Your video does not tell me how long. Do they require refridgeration?
Thanks for watching my videos, I like for them to sit in the jar for at least two weeks. It takes a couple of weeks for them to pickle. Refrigerate them after you open them. Thanks, hope this helps.
Thanku sair ,,
How long does it usually take for the lids to seal? Also how long before you can use them? 🙏
Thanks for watching my videos. Usually the jars will seal with in 10 minutes. If they do not seal, place in a hot water bath and process for 10 minutes. I like to wait at least 2 weeks, but the longer they sit the more they will pickle. Hope this helps.
I came across your videos looking for a wonderful grape leaf dill pickle recipe and I can’t wait to try yours! I’m crossing my fingers that it works! Thank you!
Thank You, God Bless everyone!
How long does it have to set before it’s ready? Does it have to be a cool and dark place
Thanks for watching my videos. I like for it to sit for two weeks, but you need to start tasting it after eight days to see how tangy it is. Everyone has a different preference. We like ours very tangy. I put my crock in the basement, it is cool there. But you can do it in any cool room in your house.
Thank You for the recipe! My Mother pickeled corn in a 20 gallon crock!🙏💕
Thanks for watching my videos. The pickled corn is delicious. Hope you will give it a try.
Such a beautiful story thank you so much for sharing it with us. And yes the lord takes care of our needs and we are truly blessed AMEN..🕊️🕊️🕊️👼👼🙏🙏

@@suburbanappalachia4308 I'd like to see how your wife came along with that doll 😅

Grape leave pickles
What's the name of the chemical group?
Thanks for watching my videos. I use regular hydrogen peroxide that you buy at the drug store. Hope this helps.
