Fabrication, welding, 3D solid modeling, CNC, are all methods I like to use to rebuild nearly anything with an engine and wheels.

Dropped Model A Steering Arms
Просмотров 34011 месяцев назад
This episode was very fun and memorable to shoot. Great time at local Veteran Hot Rodder Jack Fullers place. I decided to go old school with the steering arm situation I had and I’m glad I did if for nothing else than to get story time with Jack. #Fabrication #Welding #SheetMetal #Metalworking #CarBuild #ClassicCars #CustomCars #AutomotiveRestoration #CarModification #AutoFabrication #DIYCar #R...

You should at least have long pants on. Arc flash, can cause skin cancer.
Great work !

Thanks dude! Getting there slowly! I want to drive this so bad! 😂
@@beatnikgarage2153 hahaha I bet! I wonder who’s gonna win you or my pops?! Ahaha winter time rat race 2?! 😂
Looks great and nice work explaining the process in such detail!
Thanks! Glad there is value in it! I appreciate the feedback.
I got one of those for my Jeep project and it works excellent
Seems the black stripping drums pull the most material off for sure. Some of the rust it is removing it very stubborn but it seems to pull it off pretty well. 👍
You can confirm the plant by looking at the stamping on that body crossmember that is right in front of the seat. The St Louis plant code is either “STL” or “AXSTL”. It will be followed by a number, which is (I think?) a consecutive number of that body run in that model year in that plant. Something like that.
Awesome information. Thank you!
Turns out it was Twin Cities Minnesota! Thanks again.
Bitchin already - will look much better when first coat of (red oxide) primer will be applied .. 😎
quite a healthy chop .. 🤠
4”🎉
You sort of made a Model Y now. Looks good so far.
I won’t go that far. I’m sure Henry Ford already despises us hot rodders. 😂
Looking awesome I love it
Much appreciated! I wish I could move faster! I want to drive it now! 😂
😉 "Promo sm"
Awesome!
Thanks Mae
Just arrived and looking forward to watching this series. 👍👍😎👍👍
Thanks for dropping by. Glad you like it!
Sweeeeeet 👍😎👍
You're doing an awesome job. I really enjoy watching your videos
Thank you. Glad you like it!
nice work man!
Thanks dude!
Good job guy and looking forward to seeing more
Much appreciated! Thanks for watching.
The dimensions for the gearbox should have been available, so you should have been able to see how much space you would have left. The gear box looks way too high for me. If you want to ride low, then something has to give. I believe that too many people are tied up with thew looks of a car and think about the realities later. If this is going to be a regularly used car, then practicality of use must have primacy IMO
Nice work!
Thank you!
Just found your channel, and like your approach to construction, very methodical. I was wondering about the welds, they look a bit porous.
Thanks for sticking around and watching. Yeah I noticed they appear that way in the video as well. It’s actually no porosity, it was just dark spots that floated to the top of the weld fortunately. 👍
Looking good!
Thank you!
Nice work mate. I'm looking forward to watching your progress.
Thanks for watching. I can’t wait to get to the details. Haha
Man that whole video was just informative and awesome at the same time! Great job Donnie!
Thanks Dylan! Surprised it showed you much about a model A! 😉
Good work man
Appreciate it. Thanks for the visit!
Great intuition chasing the crumple out of that panel- can’t wait to see the top ones shortened! 😎
Thanks. Trying to get anything I can sorted before it causes other troubles down the road. 😂
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
man that looks great!
Thanks man! Much appreciated!
I’m going to have to take a second look at mine. Sounds like a great idea! I have a 28 sedan that I purchased that was chopped 4” and the doors are suicided. They did a good job on the chop but the doors weren’t done correctly. I purchased a new hinge set up from Rocky Hinges and they are amazing!
If you’re interested in the proportions take a look at Ricky Bobby Rod Shop cars. I think all of his model A sedans have this done. That’s where I seen it and came to like it.
As Scott said...... Why????
Just preference is all. 😂 Take a look at Ricky Bobby Rod Shop Model A’s. He has done this and I prefer the proportions is all.
Fair enough.....
What was your reasoning for shorting the body 3”?
Thanks for your interest and question. I am shortening the body because I like the proportions a bit better when they are as low and chopped as I plan. I like them left the stock length as well, but when chopped heavily and left the stock length, they just seem to look a bit too long is all. Strictly preference of proportion is all.
Nice
Hurst style mounts are definitely cool great choice Donnie! Love the tri power setup too great looking engine so far
Thanks foo! Can’t wait to drive this every damn place! 😂
Shout out to the memory of the thirsty camel 🐪 😆
And thanks for having the forethought to record and share your visit with Fuller and friends- very cool, man! How does your head not explode just looking around the place? I’m geeking out! 🤓
I never visited the place but have heard many a story!
@@stanfinchem431 I have a little something planned for a new video series that I will be working on throughout the winter. I have a feeling you’ll dig it.
what a wonderful build !! thanks for sharing..
Glad you like it! Thanks for watching!
I think the idea for the shock is smart. For the upper mount you could integrate headlight and grill mounts eliminating some clutter
Great idea. I’ll have to kick that around on my head a bit for sure! Thank you and thanks for watching!
i like your shock mounting idea and think it would look good with regard to the headlights and grill. but you should mock it up.
Thanks for commenting. I think you’re right. Going to have to mock this up fully! Thanks for watching by the way.
