Your one man leverage idea is brilliant. I'm planning to try it, but my son isn't heavy enough. Salute to you, sir! Your idea resolves my problem.
How did you managed to tigthen that big lower bolt? For a 520D is requires 250NM of torque which is a lot. There are many torque wrenches that don’t go that high.
Tightened it as tight as possible with a 1/2 breaker bar then used 3/4 torque wrench on the ramp at the mot station.
You're a champion 🎉 well done , good technique
Very creative... lol I feel for you , I manage to do the same work on my cars with one hand
I feel for you too, how did you lose the other one?
@lcautotech9579 my arm was crushed in a motorcycle accident.... actually still have my hand , just non functioning. No grip , strength or arm rotation. I call it a lesson in high speed stupidity
@@chrisseidl254 fair play to you for still having a go, I struggle at times with two hands and sometimes wish I had a third lol
@lcautotech9579 right on.... not to mention , my headaches and creativity are cheaper than the stealership . I feel good after figuring it out and completing the task
@lcautotech9579 well took me a bit but managed to complete swap n installation all by myself lol.... had to get creative
Excellent job, love your tenacity for not letting it beat you.😊
It was all necessary considering removing the wheels wasn’t an option, sometimes when you are on the road with only a van full of tools you have to improvise and make things happen which was kind of the point of this video, the car was literally on the floor so couldn’t be driven to a garage, the mot had also expired so the customer needed it driveable so they could take it to the bmw dealer so they could match up the locking wheel bolt with their master set.
Well you did a good job
Looks like alot of unnecessary work but you got it done. I would order another key and take the locking lugs off hoping they arent already stuck on
Very useful! Big thank you from the other side of the pond!
