ANOTHER "KIDDY" TOY TRAIN SET SHOW ??? "Mafeking" is a famous town in South Africa. Made famous in the Second Boer War. So its back to school for a History lesson I think !!! And as for the layouts . Its another collection of typical British amateur toy train sets. Mishmash train formations. No comprehension of British steam era freight train rules, as a number of formations would be physically impossible in real life. A serious incomprehension of Signalling, also revealed by a number of layouts. And certainly little "Modelling skills" are being exhibited here. Many model trains still have childish "toy train set couplings". In an age where you can get fully functioning real life scale couplings, even in "N" Gauge today !!! Have a look on RUclips at a number of German Model Railway Shows. With numerous and Huge interesting and Professional "Club" layouts unlike Britain. Indeed in some German exhibitions you will find literally "Hundreds" of layouts. The Dorttmund show for example uses ALL 20 plus exhibition Halls for their show, making even the British National show look pathetic !!!!

I like it when people make bizarre “what if” builds and put pre-grouping locos in other pre-grouping liveries they never had. The stovepipe funnel is a great little modification. Also, if you want to get a GER loco, you’ll have to get the Accurascale J69 that’s releasing later this year.

Looks great! I have one that was in NCB lined black but I did that ages ago. The blue suits it so well- that’s what mines going into!

Great video. I like how you added features that hornby missed when they made these. One thing you forgot to add was the brake rigging to the chassis, which will make your models more accurate to the real jinty locomotives.

Love the rusty jinty! I rusted up an A3 Boiler and some of its parts to put in my scrapyard, as well as the tender, which I then made a custom tarp which I laid over the top to protect it from the imaginary weather. Your rusty jinty however doesn't have a hole where the smoke stack would of once been, stood out to me, probably not others. Great models!

I've been wanted to do a big stratchbuild project for a while and this video has made me re-think how to execute it. I would have never though to incorperate LEGO into it. This model looks amazing!

Jinty is actually a term coined by railway enthusiasts, crews working on them around the time the term was popularized called them "jockos" jinty was just a general term to describe tank engines of the midland railway.
