It's all over sadly all now withdrawn 🥲🥲🥲😪😪
2 more month and the rest will be gone 😢😢😢
❤❤
My child hood memories going to the scrap yard so sad😢 rip peps
Amazing to think these replaced the LMS built 502s of 1940. Also amazing that they are 20 years younger than the 37 hauling them.
They've served their time. I doubt their replacements will last as long.
I'm not a train person as such... but that is still kinda sad to see
So sad seeing them go, the noises they made the whine and the tapping noise will always be in my mind from childhood days.
When we get bored of the 777s just come back to RUclips and watch the good old days arrrrre
So sad to see them carted off like this
Love the drone footage!
Thanks!!
still popping away mind
..."Chester, Bache and Capenhurst...."
Brilliant video. I love the high up angles using that drone :D
Would love to attend more of these, how do you find out about such meetings please ?

@@busestrains7625 Thanks 🙂
A nice record of the event - I like the drone footage - GMT2236 departed at 18:00 and was home (80 miles from Manchester) at 21:30!
This takes me back years. My mum would always go into town by bus as she said the trams were too noisy! Where was this event filmed please? Where are the old buses and the tram stored? David
Birkenhead, opposite to Liverpool
Love the footage! Brilliant! I have just uploaded a video of a derelict bus in a field off the A483. It would be great to get out there with your drone, as it is pretty inaccessible on foot.
One scholar...
I remember once in the very early seventies there being a show put on at the Floral Pavilion for all the schools in the Wallasey area at the end of the summer term. When we came out in the bright sun light there was a line-up of 20 to 30 Wallasey Corporation PD2s all in the Wallasey Corporation livery waiting to take kids back to the various schools. That must have been about the last time there was such a turn-out before the MPTE disposed of some of the older PD2s and the arrival of the first Jumbos on the Wirral in the new MPTE livery.
Remember going to Southport on trains like this late 70s got on at bank hall station. The seats where dead springy. They where old then can anybody tell me the year they where made.
Same here. And very dusty too
Buses! so gorgeous shots-
Well, now we know whose bus restoration doesn't extend to the roof! Very embarrassing....
if your talking about the Atlantean with the blue roof it was all painted not so long ago but the trees are very unforgiven
Today we seem to import many of our buses. Are they selling us the technology which we invented?

I went on Ribble in about 1983 from Newcastle to Carlisle.I think that it was a Ribble going west and a United coming east as it was a joint service between United and Ribble. Most of United's joint services were with fellow north east company Northern ,too many to count, but they had at least one with Ribble, one with West Yorkshire and I think a few with East Yorkshire plus one with the non NBC Eastern Scottish too.
3.57 I’m sure I hear Merseywail “Sometimes they have no choice.”
you did. i walked past him as i was filming
I was present at the event, despite having to come from Rhyl since i was on holiday at the time, it was an amazing event to travel to, hoping to go again next year.
came up to the area last week and this has been an insight into the transport for the area. thanks.
I love the guy in the mk2 National, all the gear and no idea!
Great video. Only one bus came from Merseyside Transport Trust which was 1898. The others came from Taylor St (54 & DFG38), 201 Group (1),. John.Cherry (206), myself (1003 & 1788) and Steve Wood (1039). 206, 1003, 1039 and 1788 had come from Hooton Park Trust and North West VRT. Other Wallasey buses that couldnt be on the run that day were 15, 53, 74 and 106 with other ex Seaview Road based vehicles 93, 159 and 1276.
Cheers Terry
I don't know that area well but I think in NBC times Hooton would have been Crossville territory and across the north side of the Mersey Ribble territory.I went on a Ribble once in about 1984 from Newcastle to Carlisle and I think that it was a United coming back as it was a joint service.
5:15That's interesting. I assume from the 'SNG' fleetnumber that that's Gardner engined
Nice to see a Wilts & Dorset VR.
Whose bodywork is that Bristol RE - YLG717F?
It's Northern Counties. NCME only ever bodied 11, all RESLs, six of these for SHMD and five to a different design for Burnley Colne & Nelson. THis is the last survivor.
Wow - those RELH's look magnificent.....the most perfectly balanced coach design ever produced - in my opinion!
Yes. I agree with you. Unfortunately, I don't think I have ever travelled in one.
@@paulsutton5896 You have to try - as they ride as good as they look!
My Dad use to work for Crosville as a bus conductor back in the 70s and 80s at the Birkenhead depot, went on many free trips when I was a young lad, Oh happy days
When you see the Crosville Bristols lined up ,how smart they were,in them days they had a bit of style,so did most of the 60s and 70s ,the Nationals did there job and looked good.
Excellent high-quality video. Thank you
cheers
Thanks for this Paul good overview of the 502 project so far.
cheers
A great day out, riding the buses and looking around the shed, really good and friendly chats with visitors
Excellent 👍

I remember around 1959/1960 when I first started Bus Spotting my Dad would often drive us through Longton Lancashire to see the Bus Dealer's Yard in Longton, where many old Ribble Buses spent their last days. But around the time there was also a number of Ex Wallasey Corp. buses there. I never saw the front, but the back showed they were all open rear staircase double deckers, I recollect there were at least six or more of them that were there for ages.
enchantingly beautiful tram car (78?) 🍸🍾
Nice video have subbed!
