2nd Annual Lumby Outhouse Races
On January 22nd 2023, some members and directors of the 4WDABC including our Director at Large, Brian Pratt who also runs the Instagram account for @bcouthouses, constructed a lightweight, makeshift outhouse, then mounted skis on it to compete in an annual race in Lumby BC.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Monashee Trails Society.
While we didn’t net the coveted gold plunger, we did manage to bring home the award for BEST DECORATED! Not too shabby for a first time!

4WDABC Wheelers of Tomorrow - Episode One
Was there 2 washouts or was it two views of same washout?
There are three significant water crossings (not technically washouts; they're spots where culverts were removed after logging was finished.) 1:37-2:10 is actually the second one you meet on the way down. 2:20-3:40 is the first one. Both are filmed on the way down.
Today is December 11, 2023 and I'm watching this for the first time. Well done, Kim!
Not to make it political. But this is what MY Canada 🇨🇦 looks like! Great video production! 🫡
Well. Thats pretty awesome.
PLEASE put out your fire before you go to sleep. In B.C. fire size is 18 inch by 18 inch any log on the fire going pass this can count as over size. Thank you drive safe. also have a water around
at 15:35 quite the quartz vein ... l bet many an old timer eyeballed that up close....
who did the video? it's great!
That would be one of our members, Travis Ketcheson.
fun stuff!
What a great video!! such a fun day!!!
its cool seeing you guys have a Tail Gate Meeting; Im used to that in my industry and think, as mundane as they can be, it is a great way to make sure everyone is on the same page, safely, and with the ability to ask questions before heading out. Bravo. edit: great camera work!
One day.. maybe I'll be able to afford to come back to the mainland for the Toy Run
Thanks for putting this together for us!! Great job!
Got some nice views for sure!
Great video. Brought back memories of many years ago. I came over from Nanaimo when I was a member of the Sidewinders and met up with some members of the Lionsgaters at Marshall Lake. We explored some of the old jade roads and ended up near the top of one of the area peaks. Even stopped by the Tyax Lodge..
Nice run Dawn.. Looks like you guys had a blast.
Next time you head out this way let us local peoples know
I did try! The businesses we visited got a heads up and we monitored for commercial traffic when we were near the dam so we didn't get in anybody's way. I'm always up for feedback though, doing my best to Tread Lightly and shop local. Every run has room for improvement, I didn't know the museum in Bralorne had moved or that it would be open on the weekend for one thing! Next time we'll make more time for that as well.
They have done a lot of good work on the Hurley River FSR. Great trip.
Travis you didn’t tell me there was going to be that many doggo. Might have to come next time. It’s a dog party. 😝
AWESOME JOB.
Love the work part dogs very important
What a great turnout! Woo!
Where abouts is the falls on that road? We tried to find it last year but couldn't find it.
Ok the intro music going into the rock garden was perfect
great video!
Ahhhh… memories! Well done team.
Great video - makes us proud to be members!! Way to go people!
I have 360 video of the easy way on my channel was a great day out and enjoyed meeting everybody
Wrong date July 16th
Fixed it, thanks.
Lovely Video ..! Just subscribed to the channel. We are new to here BC and Living in Surrey, would love to join with you guys for future journeys.
The Softroader Sunday run is my project, I love how popular it has become. We're on a short hiatus while we handle the BC Overland Rally and the 4WDABC Show and Shine, so the next one of these will likely be mid to late July. Join the FB group to keep tabs on events, there will be other runs, cleanups, and coffee meets until then. Look forward to meeting you!
Yes, I bring extra garbage bags all the time, sad but true we still end up cleaning up after some people.
That's the point of this series - to educate people on backcountry etiquette. It won't solve ALL the problems, but we hope it will at least help reduce them.
Yea and if you want bonus points bring extra bags n take leftover garbage out! #leavenotrace
@@TAGCustoms That is what I do on a regular basis.
Great series. Education is key.
thanks Dave, Class is in session!
And don't feed any kind of wildlife! Period!
Especially the wild Cobra Chickens 😂😂 (Geese)

Hey, cool, it's Wilf Mulder! Nice radios :)
Nice work on the video series. Hopefully the tree planting contractor was still working the area and cleaned up the boxes.
We found them after words nearby, can’t confirm but looked like they were on top of their stuff
good news for us thx
Heck yea thanx for the sub boys! Right back at ya! Dont know how i missed ya b4!
Do the police come by to check for registered dirt bikes/ATV?
Completely unhelpful. Perhaps if they said which channels people should avoid. Most of the channels out at gill are too small and shallow to support fish over winter, they freeze solid.
Never have seen any salmon spawning in the Fraser river.... All the creeks and rivers feeding into the Fraser but never the main river.
Kudos to 4WDABC, advocating environmental stewardship, balancing public access and edifying the public on these environmentally sensitive issues.
Great job Kim, good on Shaun (the story till now) for helping out with the narration.
Great video! Lots of valid concerns from both sides. Everyone needs to work together
Moving to BC soon, looking forward to joining the club!
Thanks Kim! Good education and update. Appreciated.
For decades the salmon runs up the Fraser River have been changing from plenty to concerning we all have to do our part in helping to preserve the fish environment before we all loose out .
