And ofc you can't hear it... I know that struggle way too personally. I also play theorbo and you can't hear me in the baroque orchestra. I can barely hear myself
Beautiful, what piece is playing?
Here the Deities approve, a music piece that Purcell wrote for harpsichord solo as "A new ground" in E (which makes it very uncomfortable to play with archlute in the case you want to play bass & upper voices) in a "broken style" (style brisé). I think that theorbo in A is NOT suited for 17e english music (Purcell, Croft, Blow, Eccles), lute or archlute is more appropriate. Theorbo is better for early 18e, i.e. Handel, but you hear it less and less - becomes mostly "decorative" ;-)

Some theorbo (historical and nowadays) can actually be folded, without loosing the tune of strings.
OUGHT to read, "This is continuo". We hear theorbo, harpsichord and gamba.
I would say : "This is continuo": you hear Harspichord and Gamba... eventually theorbo LOL

Very nice! Now I finally know the source to Michael Nyman's piece "The Garden Is Becoming a Robe Room," from his score for the Peter Greenaway film "The Draughtsman's Contract."
He’s referenced Purcell a few times! “Memorial” and “Chasing sheep is best left to Shepherds” both borrow from Purcell’s King Arthur
@@largoalquacktotum5232 On my copy of the LP of Nyman's score for "The Draughtsman's Contract," one "H. Purcell" is credited in the liner notes as "Music Consultant."
