That's absolutely wild to me that they wouldn't be digging into it and fixing under warranty! They literally get paid from acura to fix it...

@@BCars_Garage I know, right? It was incredibly frustrating. I couldn't believe they just brushed it off instead of fixing the issue under warranty.

I 100% agree they've already started canceling multi billion $ projects in North America on EV plants. They technology is there but the range and charging just doesn't make sense in today's fast pace economy

I haven't heard of many blown up civic type R engines or much about these going bad so maybe I just got some bad luck. I'm deffinitly in that same camp though I honestly thought it would be different with Acura that's why I went with one.

There's so many out there I know of a 69 boss 302 that's been sitting in a garage since the 80s and a 67 fastback gt literally 10 minutes down the road sitting in their front yard not for sale ofcourse. I've got lots of stories haha. Went to look at a house about 10 years ago garage falling apart but went to look inside anyway....66 impala convertible the list goes on.

If there's other dealers in your area maybe try a different one. I was off warranty for it but they said they're aware of the issue sent an email to acura and they agreed to cover the replacement cost. This is a common issue that should be a recall very soon I hope

With just a touch over 20 lbs of boost I think it's absolutely insane to run 87. Yes the computer will pull some timing to accommodate the lower octane fuel but it's not worth the risk.

Changed twice my understanding is a 30k change frequency though 7500 seems pretty often for a diff

That's the only real issue I've ever had I was sitting in the car and basically s*** myself when it shattered. The techs at acura were saying the rear window defrost makes a high frequency noise and supposedly that's what breaks the glass. I don't know if that's fact or fiction though

I agree I don't plan on using them ever again other than as rollers around the yard. This car has been in the family since 71 and in 99 this car was sitting in storage, it was sitting in heated storage for almost 10 years already. it's been in the family since 71 but now I'm curious about how far back the date codes go and gonna do some digging

Never I put a lot miles on em always thought they were newer when I saw the age I was surprised, they technically should be an accident waiting to happen but as the old saying goes "they don't make em like they used to"

@@BCars_Garage brother that numbering system didn't exist in 1969. Those tires are from 1999.

@andrewolf9865 I've been googling like crazy trying to get er figured out. What I can come up with tires made 2000 and later are a 4 digit code tires made 1999 and prior are 3 digit 2 for the week and 1 for the year but didn't exist prior to 1971 so they probably aren't 1969 but could be 79 89 or 99. My bad I almost wanna delete this cause I legit hate click bait but I guess it's kind of educational now knowing that cause I had no idea

Hopefully my luck is better with the clutch springs. I was on the verge of putting a 429 into it instead got a hold of the 292 and just thought to myself how rare it is to see these trucks with a Y block even though it was a factory option, so I figured I had put it in.

That's a nice truck, these little windsor engines are really good powerplants and very easy to work on. I'm sure you'll get er dialed in eventually, I'm sure there'll be videos coming up of a carb rebuild and what not on this car at some point

Correct I wanted to replace all the gaskets on it so it had to come off to do that I don't think that carbs ever been removed before
