Lovely old car! I have a Peaugeot 504, and I make such trips around my Island of Sri Lanka. Quite enjoyable as these old classics are engineering masterpieces. Thank you for the entertainment , I enjoyed it very much.
504 is a lovely car also! I bet it’s lovely to drive in Sri Lanka!
I was a bit worried when I saw the thumbnail lol, but this is hilarious 😂
This is an exceptional Jag...... it started first try.
😂
Now that's a nice Jag!
I have to agree😄
when is the next episode of map men
You mean you don't like the new jaguar Liberace? 😂
G'day Mitka. One of the highlights of my life was driving a mint mid 70's XJ back in the mid 90's. Gorgeous car. The new offering? Hideous outside with an interior reminiscent of an airplane toilet. Yours is a lovely old girl. If I didn't already own a couple of 1962 Valiants with one being a fully custom V8 convertible I might be a bit jealous. My profile picture is my V8. Joel.
I have a soft spot for the fist gen Valiant! Nice one
Charming !
Brilliant. Thank you. Whoever came up with the New Woke Ad (SMT + CEO & Advert Dept) all deserves the sack. It is the normal employees, who will lose their jobs. Dealerships have invested heavily in the past product, and will now go out of business! More normal jobs lost. How much did the Telly Tubbies in the ad get paid. I do not think they will work again either!
beautifully finished caliber! indeed spectacular watch.
Shut up and take my money!
I love this video! My first car was a Triumph TR6, but that was only because at 15 and only having jobs mowing lawns and shoveling snow I couldn't afford an E-type V12. By the time I could afford one I was more into practical vehicles that suited my businesses. Like some watch rebrands (Blancpain, Breguet), Jaguar has changed hands so many times now that it has permanently broken its connection to its heritage. Unsurprisingly its marketing now looks like Swatch marketing. Expect colorful plastics along with those electric motors and a life expectancy of three to five years before the new ones, if they ever make it to market, hit the landfills.
I like how the crown and stem magically appear... the one part im looking for 😂
😅
You and your daughter have summed up what Jaguar represents far better than that ridiculous advert!
Yessss Clara love uuu
Thanks Imogen! Klara loves you 2
@@Mitkawatch really hope to see u soon and don’t worry I’m still pestering my parents 🫶
Clara is a star! Kudos
Absolutely excellent Mitka. Hilarious. Clara needs to be the next gen. of Jaguar PR. But they probably will be gone by then……. Can’t wait to share. 😄

😂😂😂
Grace, pace and a dirty face !
Fantastic job. I have an Eterna 140T. Greatly underrated watches, especially considering they are basically the ones that created the whole stuff, on which now all of the Swatch Group movements are based(ETA movements)
Eterna are fantastic! Great quality and history. Very under rated by collectors today
Beautiful watch and one the first watch I remember thinking how good it looked , as an 9:year old .im fortunate to now own a Seawolf from the late 60s I think , 70-72 movement the same I be,ieve as the one worked on . I have a problem though , that it doesn’t seem to work automatically at all , or the hacking function . Time is accurate when wound manually and it runs well but just not in auto or hacking ? I’m sure I need a service or advice amd would welcome help from someone more experienced ? If you are offer such a service to a needy zodiac wearer ?
You better punt it on before the latest Jaguar advert effect value.
Exactly same year and colour as my stepdad's except his had a black vinyl roof. Parked outside the house car thieves broke in but for some reason couldn't steal it (think it was out of petrol) so they smashed every dial and guage including the steering wheel badge. Wasn't worth repairing (this was 1988) so he scrapped it and bought a used double six instead.
Thanks for sharing your story! Hope this car does not suffer the same fate 👀
I've had Series 2 and Series 3 Jags. 4.2 and XJ12 versions of the Series 3. They're all wonderful. Anyhow, on mornings like the one you have illustrated, I just pour warm to hot water onto all the screens and the side windows. Clears the frost instantly. And no, it diesn't crack the windscreen. Boiling water might, but not hot water from the tap - which, by the time you've walked from the kitchen to the car on a morning like that, has cooled a bit anyway in yur plastic container.
Great looking watch. Nice video as usual
Nicely done 👌
I actually did drive to Leicester and picked up a 1976 MGB GT! lol Mine needs a fair bit of bodywork, but it now has a good home. I hope… 😂
in the video the speed regulation is not visible, it is covered by the hands, which of the two levers is the one relating to the speed regulation, the upper one with the ruby or the lower curved one?
The regulator pointer will regulate the time by lengthening or shortening the hairspring.
Who would go swimming with a vintage watch on 😂
Please do the video of the service of this watch. I am always curious about how a none screw down crown (for the inner bezel) can achieve a 100 water resistance.
When new the crowns would be resident for a while:) will do a video on this one!
Looks like the definition of "a great project"!
GOTA SHOP THOSE DOLPHIN TAILS RIGHT OFF AND FINISH THE DESIGN
Yes but then you will loose interstellar flight performance😂
The story I've heard is that Frank Costin was an aircraft designer and wanted it stable drifting, hence fins on the back like an aircraft. Over time he learned the driver could cope with something less stable aerodynamically.
Nice work Mitka (as usual). A quick question regarding the lume; was the umbra you added a normal 'earth pigment' or some special variant? Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!:) Umber pigment powder.
I'd definitely recommend Mitka - the service on this watch was excellent, and the dial looks so much better in more natural conditions than the harsh workshop lighting. Very happy with the outcome and the sympathetic re-lume has certainly given this watch a new lease of life.
Awesome!!!
What a fantastic and very rare machine... Thanks for showing it to us... Cheers from me and the Menace...
Glad you enjoyed it! Just watched your Plymouth comparison, amazing cars, but not sure the fins are large enough compared to the Lotus😂 the 60 Plymouth was and still is one of my dream cars. All the best from me and Windy Indy.
Now that's a flashback. My dad had a dark blue '75 SAAB 99 back in the early 80's and later a light blue '78. I remember those comfy seats and the ashtrays everywhere 😀. One doesn't see these very often nowadays, if at all, even here in Sweden.
Peter Scott Russell
Ian Chapman! I guess you meant Colin. Chapman was not a fan of the Bristol engine, which started life as a pre war BMW unit. It was heavier than the Climax 2.0L FPF, which affected the handling. Power output was similar, depending on the level of tune. Haute Savoie 74 registration.
Argh how I mix names! Of course Colin! Thanks for pointing it out ✌️👍
The inspiration for the Mach 5 of Speed Racer.
Lovely watch with an even more lovely movement inside. Love automatics, and this one is a beauty. Underrated gem.
Thanks for sharing this. This car seems to come straight out of a cartoon. Maybe a short youtube clip of this footage would help bring attention to this video
How much open time does the lume compound have?
6-10min, but you can add thinner that extends the time while working with it.
@@Mitkawatch Very nice work.
Beautiful movement...I love the Older Omegas..Great job tho... Big difference in the end!.
Never been one to follow the herd in virtually anything, although I have an extreme fondness for Omega watches. My appreciation for Eterna came along inevitably reading about Thor Heyerdahl crossing the Pacific Ocean in a reed raft, taking along a bunch of Eterna watches which became known as the Kontiki. The romance of that, the fact that Eterna squeeze under the radar, considering their quality, plus that distinctive 5 ball bearing falling weight and logo, just drew me in. So it's really nice to see a lovely restoration. And good gentle narration too.
Eterna was in serious competition with Omega in the 1950s, but almost forgotten today. Agreed one of the greats!
I'm a very happy customer and bought this watch. I can recommend Mitka as reliable and pleasant seller. He's a real watch enthusiast. Sam Tjioe
Thanks for the comment:) the watch could not have gone to a better home!
Wonderful to watch you restore it so well! That dial is so beautiful - what a great watch!
I love how that logo looks 👌🏻👌🏻
What a beauty!
