EA is no longer the problem here. The real problem is us, the people who buy the game and buy Fifa Points. The people who make content with this filth. The players are all screaming for change, but they themselves don't want to change. EA only speaks one language and that is: SALES. Only when something happens here will those at the top, who have nothing to do with game development, ask what's going on. EA will only react when the sales go backwards. I started with Fifa in 1994 and stopped buying this game 2 years ago. This game has hardly anything to do with soccer and was ruined by EA's greed. Instead of drawing the consequences here, you throw more money at this company. If we don't change, we certainly don't need to expect EA to change.

Good video, bro. I'll share my point of view as a Brazilian. Here in Brazil, everything is expensive, just imagine that our currency is worth almost six times less than a dollar, which makes consoles and games much more expensive. To buy a game at full price nowadays, we need to pay almost 30% of a minimum wage. Now, imagine what it's like for someone who wants to compete and needs to buy FIFA points to have a meta squad, it’s almost impossible if you're not rich or sponsored.

I was very early on the Ultimate Team train. I remember when it was separate purchase add-on from the PlayStation Store. To this day, my PSN is a FUT Founder account and the early days of Ultimate Team were beautiful. There was something really captivating about having cards, collecting them and perhaps even trading with friends or others from around the world. There was a naivety and innocence to the whole thing. And then the greed kicked in. And gameplay became increasingly predicated on players who moved like they were on rocket fuel. EA saw a window of opportunity in the form of persistent kids nagging their parents and people who simply could not say “no” to the temptation of rolling the dice on packs. I always saw Ultimate Team as a tool for sustaining profits throughout the annual game cycle. You just know that in the years before Ultimate Team, the bigwigs at EA were deeply concerned about the initial boom of purchases at launch, followed by several months in the depths. Ultimate Team was the remedy to that and offered sustained profits throughout the game cycle. Having said that, never in my wildest dreams did I anticipate it becoming the filth that it is in its current iteration. I was an above average player and over the years I managed to avoid ever paying for packs, which still delights me to this day. FIFA 21 was my last purchase and that broke a streak that dated all the way back to 1998, when I was just six years old. I took up platinum trophy collecting on PlayStation and I have never looked back since. I love experiencing new games and I once again love the time I spend playing video games. In hindsight, getting caught up in the EA Ultimate Team cycle had robbed me of that privilege. There are other games out there, people. When something stops becoming fun, why continue with it? Get out there and find games you love!

This is why I stopped playing Ultimate Team in FIFA 23 I started playing it in FIFA 20 btw

One thing that forgot to mention, in PC there's Anti-cheat that is completely useless when there's hackers in PC and still using lots of CPU to slow your game down, WELL DONE EA 🙃🙃

Good video. I came back to fut during lockdown. Got obsessed again (but still nowhere near as many) but stopped at fut 23. I played with my final team on fut 23 for the whole fut 24 season, which was refreshing as I didn’t have to grind for anything or watch the transfer market. This game mode is such a waste of time and really is all consuming. It’s honestly like having another job, but more stressful than my actual job.

Also back in fifa 17 atleast players had different styles that could make them pro. A good esport needs skill you can identify as being amazing and hard to replicate..
