Hi its me, random TCG content creator who occasionally tries new hobbies. Recently I have, at the age of 34, decided to start painting Warhammer models for the first time. When I started 2 months ago, I did a video going over my initial impressions and advice I had heard from friends/RUclips and how they were applicable. Now that I've done a lot more painting, I think its time to revisit that.

Just tell me what the least rng focused class would be. lol my luck is always bad.
Assasin feels very deterministic.
But genuinely RNG isn't the norm in fab unless you play brute, so anything except brute is fine.
For your idea of rewarding the players who were the highest place would that only apply to Pro Tour and Worlds? Would it cost LSS too much money to reward each hero/class at calling level events?
Ehh the cost is the same for 1 event as for every. Like what would it cost to print a special version of 1 hero per class, and make them available at large tier events. The main cost is the art, but by the nature of the prize you could reuse it for a whole year or even multiple years since you wouldn't be giving that many out.
@@SteelfurSpeaks Right for some reason I was thinking the prize had to be cash. I vaguely remember an event where the winner got a special version of their hero card and LSS stating that the other hero cards were shredded. So something they've already done?
GG mate, keep it up. Dyspraxia isn't mentioned a lot generally, and I reckon coming at this from your perspective is a good thing! Nice
Thanks mate. I also quite enjoy just documenting this stuff as Google is less likely to break than my phone. 😂
@@SteelfurSpeaks Yeah, I get that lol. Love the Grey Knights by the Way, did a really good job on them (I really like the Crusader aesthetic).
@@ThePaleRoom I have gone hard on the inquisition tbh, I have the kill team as well :D
No, No you dont
But the powerswords must be painted.
I'm a bit late but I couldn't resist commenting! I have been painting for a while now-on and off for almost 10 years and more consistently since the pandemic-and I grew up mildly dyspraxic (mild medically, it still affected much of my day-to-day life). I am quite proud of how far I've come, and I have even been asked if I paint for commission. I say this for two reasons: 1) to brag, of course, and 2) to show that a high-ish standard is probably more achievable than you might think! My big tip is the classic, and the most boring-practice, practice, practice. Of course you will be bad at first, you've never done it before! The only true way to improve is to get in the reps, and I think this is probably even more true for those of us that struggle to obtain the physical skills. My early mini's were pretty messy, but this was just a function of my lack of brush skills. Ultimately, there will be hundreds of little tricks that work for you specifically-but you will only learn them by putting brush to plastic. I will admit that just focusing on how bad you are at controlling a brush can be pretty dispiriting, so I think something else to think about when you are first learning is paint dilution. There is no true right answer, so just focus on what effect different levels of dilution have on the paint and the effect on the fig. Another thing that can really help is understanding that contrast matters more than smoothness. Your blends on your power weapons are not some silky smooth, Golden Demon insanity or anything like that, but the overall effect works quite well because the contrast is high-especially from across the table. Blending is hard and time consuming, which is why drybrushing is so popular. It hits a nice medium between how good the effect looks and how long it takes too achieve. Colour theory and colour harmonies matter a lot, and you can get a lot of millage on just using them well. This is part of why people who have artistic backgrounds can start so far ahead of others, even though they lack the physical half of the equation. One last thing, I find my hands don't shake as much as long as I am thinking about what I am trying to do with them, not about how much they are shaking. If you can't get them steady to paint eyes or little highlights, it might help to pull away, take a breath and come back at it again. Oh and your dreadknight is sick! Good choice to proxy him-the baby carrier is a an acquired taste.
Thanks for the detailed response. I’m actually loving how many other people are coming to share their similar journeys it’s giving a lot of hope. :) there are definitely frustrating elements but I’m not put off at all.
I found your channel only recently, and a couple of months ago I got L1 judge certification on a whim, but I haven't had an opportunity to judge an event yet. (Trans, disabled, queer woman) I'm very curious about those judging and commentator controversies you mentioned, but I'm not sure what video(s) on your channel is talking about them, just from looking at the titles of videos
Hi! Take a look around November or December last year. The biggest ones were around worlds Barcelona. Just to clarify though the videos are mostly dealing with what (I view) as incorrect judge calls. Rather than any major scandal with the judging programme. So please don’t get put off participation in the judge programme because you hear stuff like that. It’s full of great people who I’m sure will make you feel welcome (and if they don’t let me know and I’ll yell at them for it) :)
@@SteelfurSpeaks thank you! Makes sense, I haven't heard anything bad about the judges community in general, my disabilities just have made it hard for me to attend things
Completely appreciate that, hope you find a way to do what you can :D
I don't have dyspraxia, and my motoric ability is probably within normative range. I struggle with hitting very small details like eyes on a human scale mini, but other than that i think its nothing out of the ordinary. However with my executive function and attention issues i found the best way for me to paint miniatures is using techniques that get the maximum effect out of minimum effort invested, so i can paint really fast without having to really worry about fine precision most of the time. This ties into your tip about cheating liberally. I make use of washes and drybrushing wherever i can. Above the primer, most of my models are just 2-maximum 3-layers of different paints on any given area: A basecoat and either a wash or a drybrush. Sometimes i also use both a wash and then a drybrush. Just remember to finish all the areas you intend to drybrush before painting anything else in, because you want to have the freedom to liberally brush outside the intended areas. In some areas i also skip the base coat by using a colored primer as the base coat. A decent quality black wash can also sometimes help obscuring small imprecisions where i overpainted onto the wrong area. This year I finished painting a whole army (nearly 4000 points) for basically the first time in my 20 years in this hobby, and that was mostly thanks to doing almost nothing but drybrushing. And what may surprise you is that that army were Sylvaneth for age of sigmar, which look incredibly complicated to paint. But what i did whas priming them Dark green, then heavily drybrushing the entire torso, face and upper arms and legs in Jade green (as well as a much less intense drybrush with the same color on the rest of the model just to add some highlighting everywhere), and then going over the torso and face and just a very small portion of the limbs again with a heavy white drybrush. this allowed my to paint models like dryads and treelords in a matter of minutes. More complex minis like the ones with humanoid parts sticking out of them and with swords and other weapons were a little more complex but i essentially used the same technique on those parts just with different colors. Once all those big areas were done i just added in some details where needed, like eyes small decorations. Finding ways like that to just paint in large parts of each model quickly with almost no effort was incredibly helpful for getting things done and also making them look way better than they have any right to be for the amount of effort i invested. It works great with armies that are either (almost) entirely organic like sylvaneth or tyranids, or entirely mechanical like necrons. One thing about drybrushing that people really need to know is, the brushes you want for that sort of thing are not miniature or art brushes. Medium to small makeup brushes are incredible for drybrushing
Thanks for sharing. I whole heartedly agree that you just have to find what way works for you. I kind of didn’t want to call it “cheating” because that implies it’s not good. When in fact it’s just as legit as any method. The main thing I had to learn was to accept that it might not turn out perfect and be okay with that even if it isn’t. Good for me might not be good for someone else but at least it’s painted. :)
I'm also dyspraxic and while i have been in the hobby for 20+ years i have only started painting myself in the last few years! good luck with your journey, i hope you enjoy it all as much as i do.
Thanks it definitely felt very daunting but I’m enjoying it so far! Painting very slowly and thinking very hard but getting it done!
Rewarding consistency, and rewarding people for maining a hero sounds really cool
The world tour stuff is confusing I'm still confused on what's the difference between a battle-hardened and a calling actually even is
Well a calling is a two day premier event and a battle hardened is a one day premier event. Prizing reflects this.
Agreed, it sure would be nice to redeem my thousands of xp for something nice.
You and me both!
I would have to agree World Tour is confusing because we already have the “World” event. Naming conventions are important, and anything we can do to cut down on confusion is a huge amount of value added.
Agreed as somebody who has placed in the midtier at two Battle hardens, and chatting with many of the "mid tier" competitive players. It sucks going x-2/3 not getting top 8 and not getting ANY prize, and many of these mid tier players travel with one player who could actually win money and they need their friends to help actually offsets costs of traveling; but their friends find it hard to justify spending a bunch of money for nothing. I never played in the Magic pro circuit but from what I heard players like me could actually cash out, which sucks to hear. I know before LSS did reward XP but it was during covid and people who either worked from home or didn't have a job were able to farm armories all day. Also, the XP reward system really rewards players living in a big city. But I do agree that $90,000USD could go to the mid tier grinders that LSS survives off of.
Yeah exactly. There is a harsh falloff. And I don’t think they should make it so everyone gets a prize but it would be fairly easily to have a specific promo or a class based prize as I mentioned and use that to reward mid-tier players.
@@SteelfurSpeaks Yeah I'm not asking for $1000 for getting 13th or something but at big events you can have the same record as the 6th seed player but due to breakers bubble instead. It's started to jade my play group a bit, before we used to travel to any event within like 6 hour drive. None of us have ever won the event but we have placed a few times, but now we are becoming "Calling or bust" and no hotels. We are lucky to live in a major city.
@@Lootaful As I said in the video, I've never been to a battlehardened that wasn't calling adjacent. Just not worth the money.
Good points - I think in regards to the "World tour" rebranding - it refers to the whole weekend of events. Saying "Calling Portland" is specifically referring to that one event on the weekend (even if it is the biggest)- when in reality there are multiple events during the weekend - Calling, Battle Hardened, Super Armory, etc - so I can see why they want to change it to "World Tour Portland"
@@Clads5 yeah but you can always assume that there will be side events to match the main event. Calling Portland is the event. Everything else is dressing.
So far there's only 5 classes in the game. Kayo, Azalea, Boltin, Dash and Jarl. I cannot be assed to build my own deck if I can just pay like 60 and have a deck built for me lol
Haha while I appreciate the ease of access they provide you might find the powerlevel of the deck quickly outpaced. But I’m glad you’re enjoying the out of box experience.
as a player maybe buying in, this is very helpful. Still not sure if i can afford a 2nd (maybe 3rd TCG) but i think i'm going to grab something. Was maybe going to get the Dash Armory deck, and was recommended to grab the other Dash Hero to use with it. But not sure if it's better to grab that, learn the game, than choose, or just try and figure out what i like/prefer. Which is kinda hard with so many.
Assassin, Rune blade, Illusionist, and mech all seem cool but am i just a guardian? who knows lol.
It can definitely be a bit intimidating, best bet is to find your local community and see if you can borrow a deck for an armory evening and see if you can try some things! Otherwise, pick the armory deck you like the best and don't upgrade it until you figure out if you like that class. The cards in the armory deck have decent secondary market value so you might not lose much taking the risk!
This video is so cool, please do more, we need history to be preserved!
Thanks. I have the script and a lot of recording done for 2021. Just need to sit down and finish it.
Light also has a "Yellow matters" subtheme to go alongside Draconic and Mystics' band matters motifs.
Oh, and that means Illusionist has to "catch em all." Red, yellow, and blue are all represented.
objectively this would be a bad choice but im not going to lie - if they released fab x street fighter or fab x guilty gear and had stuff like ira turned into ibuki or aurora turned into ky kiske i would definitely shill for it.
haha a surprisingly number of people have said 'No, but...'
Just worth noting a small error. There is in fact a talented Ranger - Lexi who is a lightning and Ice hero. She has been living legend for a while so she slipped my mind. Sorry. Next update I’ll add her in Light also has a strong “yellow matters” theme. 😂
That chart to disrespect Lexi completely by saying that ranger has no Talent. Boo!
Sorry. I’ll redo it at some point. 😂
Best FAB vdeos!
Thanks
Hodgepodge the Gathering
It does seem that is where we are going. When instead they should be paying writers to find the next Nico Bolas.
@SteelfurSpeaks exactly. I like all the Crossovers and stuff in fortnite and I don't care about the original characters are lore or setting of fortnite at all but I'm like you the main draw to Magic for me was the original setting the lore the characters and the art and it definitely does break up the cohesiveness of the game to have all this random stuff in it for me
I just want a draconic runeblade!
Can the game handle that much go again? 🤔
Lighting Runeblade shows that we indeed can't be trusted with that much Go Again 😂
Red matters + yard interaction + lots of go again + split DMG may be a little op I admit but think of the aesthetics! Lol
Not to be That Guy but there is a talented ranger, Lexi, Livewire she just got LL'd so technically Mech is the only untalented class
Oops.
@@SteelfurSpeaks Just sharing, the funny thing too is that Teklovossen does have a Shadow demi-hero Mech form from Singularity. It's also part of Demonastery lore tidbits that some Mechanologists go there to experiment without restraint, so it is exciting if we get a Shadow Mech in the future. Especially since they do banish by boosting.
Listen I’m not confusing the new player videos by talking about a shadow Demi hero that doesn’t influence deck building. 😂
@@SteelfurSpeaks Oh that's understandable hahaha
That's pretty cool using the Talent Plus Class to create an archetype instead of bloating the system with extra classes and making it more complicated than it needs to be or running the risk of the new classes not having enough support or supporting the new classes and forsaking the old ones in a set
Yeah exactly. And while grumpy people like me won’t be happy until I get a card that says the word “Druid”. Even I have to admit that verdance and Florian are basically types of druids.
Love these videos I can send to new players. Awesome!
Happy to do my part!
This is 17 minutes far to many to say NO
Boo, you're no fun.
@@SteelfurSpeaks i know i know, even as we disagree great content as always
Thank you for the great video, still learning FaB and I've been loving Florian since his release. He's my main go-to Hero until a Necromancer Hero comes out. I love his theme and playstyle and this video has helped to understand him better. Thank you again
Welcome! He's one of my favourites as well, just love the earth vibes :D
FAb should do SpongeBob UB. I want to see Sponge Bob vs Patrick vs Mr Crab vs Squidward
Hmm. Now that would be weird.
I would hope that LSS would create a new IP/ spin-off if they want to do this
Honestly, the way I always thought about crossovers in FAB is if they do it, I hope it's in something like PVE if that ever comes out. I think the competitive 1v1 format should be 100% untouched by pure crossovers. Inspired art and mechanics are welcome and cool, FAB already has tons of that, but outright having, for example, a Marvel character as a hero should be a no go.
I think that ultimately, this kind of monetization is what is required to maintain infinite growth for a luxury product. IF FAB remains privately owned, then i don't see this happening, but almost all products follow a certain capitalistic progression
I do agree. I mean if you look at the trends from fortnite and other modern games. The only way to keep generating growth is to diversify and appeal to a broader base.
@SteelfurSpeaks Right? I don't necessarily feel positive about those trends, but I feel that LSS will be able to avoid them if they stay privately owned. At least for a little while...
The moment Flesh and Blood take this road I'll for sure leave. I abandon MTG with a lot of grief to be honest, I was playing since 1995 Ice Age just because the changes since Kamigawa, one decision after another was keep pushing me out the game, flavor and lore wise, everything got worse for me. This past year I'm playing FaB weekly at my LGS and it's really replaced MTG for me.
I wouldn’t but I have sold out of mtg mostly due to product overload and dilution of the original setting. The fact that a company with that much money won’t spend that money to create original, rich, settings is literally everything that is wrong with modern fantasy/games/televsion.
I love fab because it’s not magic. I still enjoy magic to a certain degree but it’s nice to step away and play other games from time to time.
Perfectly acceptable to play both. I was playing Commander 1v1 only last week (which is a curse game format I know, but its still a bit of fun) :D
@@SteelfurSpeaks yep! It’s still a fun game! And if I’m being honest, if fab did a crossover set with an ip that I really liked… (4 ninja armory decks based around the ninja turtles) I’d probably buy all of them lol
Haha see I’m the exact same. I would happily slam some cash down on a well thought out crossover. And I’d buy a crossover I didn’t like if it was competitive. That being said. I do believe in companies actually investing in originality rather than copy catting.
No Idea if this would be good for FaB in the long run or not if they did this, but I for sure would quit. Left MTG because of stuff like this.
For mtg the universes beyond I go between “yes please” to “don’t care” - and don’t care about the impact on competitive formats because I just play EDH with my friends. No time to be sweaty. Flesh and blood would be an ideal card game mechanic for a game like Monster Hunter the TCG for a PVE game system. I think it can do well as an ancillary product for pve/board game night rather than shoehorned into competitive pvp, which is FAB’s unique, specific niche that it excels at.
Potentially an idea. But a product that can only be played in one mode of the game is very limited.
Please god no, this is whole reason why I don’t play MTG anymore
What would IP products in FAB look like? As someone who hasn't ever played FAB because the aesthetics don't interest me enough, the minimum IP crossover that would be necessary to get me playing would be being able to make a deck that was mostly related to my preferred IP, probably at least 75%. And then would it run into the Weiss Schwarz "next time I buy cards is the next time an IP I like gets printed" problem? Also I think there's something to be said for "MTG can do this because it's MTG". Local turnout for universus, weiss schwarz, and the other IP games where I am is low and new players are rare. People just aren't *that* interested in IP, the name and overwhelming established presence of MTG does a lot for MTG's ability to pull interest.
Based on inner class synergy, you'd have a talent that applied to a certain universe. So you're crossover would be like Earth from Rosetta and 60+% of the deck would be from that universe with the other 40% coming from existing FAB classes.
Hell no. Fuck that lol
Definitely no, the very reason I quit MTG, please don't do this to FAB.
Ew no. Universes Beyond, and the bad management of their eternal formats, is what killed Magic for me. I can't lose another card game this way!
No. But I'd rather have LSS take the CCG IP for the Legend of the Five Rings (L5R)
A whole new Japanese continent comes to Rathe? :D
@@SteelfurSpeaks could be.. XD I'm more keen on the quality of their prints, the distribution system and added plus that some of the artists that worked on L5R have great pieces on FaB which got me into the game (Azalea forever). What I would really wish for is the revival of the game format while as an adjacent play having FaBs hero system introduced to L5R.. man, I just want more Rokugan.
@@arominized I feel that for sure. I still do some bits on the fan continuation of the LCG project, but demand has really fallen off sadly.
Pretty happy with where they are at the moment. I think there is plenty of scope for growth & new characters with out the need to branch out. At least at this stage!
I do agree, but its interesting to think that FAB's hero based gameplay is actually quite flexible.
Very true! That's not to say I wouldn't object to a steampunk vibe set in the future!!
if they want me to quit FaB, sure
What’s wrong, you haven’t touched your SpongeBob cold foil patty weapon
This is an excellent assembly of all the points, including points I've noticed myself but not seen other people mentioning. The one thing I'm not convinced by is the prediction that they'll use AI to fill out the art in these sets based on the idea that they can train the generators on the IP - art isn't that expensive, even £300,000 per set is nothing, and the risk in cutting this cost is that consumers don't feel they're getting a high enough quality product. We've already seen with the Hatsune Miku secret lairs the scalpers basically selling at-cost because the art is bad and no one is interested in paying a premium - if this becomes a regular thing, scalpers and distributors will get cold feet and think twice about buying everything WOTC offers. I think we're more likely to see Wizards drop their art price, commission artists from lower cost of living countries, turn a blind eye to individual artists who use AI to make the lower fee still time-efficient, and *maybe* use movie screenshots (possibly traced over). I'd also point out that while I'm sure this will all go fine for WOTC, I think it's going to end up with "UB" feeling like a different game to "MTG". Looking at the player profile laid out here, which isn't going to be far from accurate: A UB player is someone who doesn't feel their interests are represented by the various archetypes of MTG's existing card pool and someone who has different interests from the traditional MTG playerbase. That person might love the Spiderman set, but what is there to get him beyond Spiderman and into the rest of MTG? Some people will gradually trickle into MTG, I'm sure, but the majority of these players are going to stay in Standard where the set they're interested has a home, and pay little to no attention to formats like modern and pioneer that will require them to make a primarily non-IP deck if they want to be competitive. From a practical perspective, I expect to have very little in-person interaction with UB players due to format separation and different friend groups. And it's not just conversion to MTG that'll be a problem, chances are that Spiderman fan is as disinterested in the Final Fantasy set and the Assassin's Creed set as he is the Tarkir set. So once he's bought everything he wants from Spiderman, when's the next time he wants anything? That's a bit of a problem in Weiss Schwarz already - a WS set is typically a single anime franchise, and future support for that franchise is then rare. This means for any given set, each player either wants to buy a full playset of every card, or doesn't want anything at all (except the meta players). Now that I've finished making my deck, my total spend on Weiss Schwarz for the foreseeable future is going to be £0, because the upcoming sets happen to be for anime I haven't watched. And also for Pixar and for live-action Marvel because Weiss Schwarz is going UB too for some absurd reason.
So interestingly that AI point wasn’t even originally mine. It came from Donato Giancola who was writing about changes to MTGs policy on after market sales for new artists. His point about the impact of universes beyond was twofold. First, because its registered IP aftermarket sales will be prohibited for artists drastically cutting their income and two that AI art is easier to generate for well documented IPs. Doesn’t mean an artist won’t be involved but it means that they will be tasked with making an ai assisted piece of art that they just fine tune, and they won’t be able to sell playmats of the art or artist prints etc. I also 100% agree on what you said and the Weiss Schwartz example. Funnily enough I even considered buying some myself for some sword art online cards a few years ago. Then that set sold out and I never looked at the game again. The real question is. Do they stick around? Do they replace the members of he community that drop out due to life change or fatigue with the game? Or do they just buy their cards to collect and then never actually turn up to the LGS. It feels like there could be huge knock on consequences for this choice that aren’t properly understood. Also as you say. These cards are standard legal. What happens when they rotate? “My Spider-Man went from being worth 20$ to being worth 5$, I’m quitting”
@@SteelfurSpeaks Artists do have a pretty poor track record of being overly doomer about AI, so I'm not inclined to believe one on this. He could certainly be right, but I think it's more likely he's not. Going full AI with artist touch up would just be a weird move, since it's not a big cost reduction over just paying artists less, and we've seen that their approach to AI so far has been to leave it up to the artists they contract and turn a blind eye to those who use it, which seems to be working for them. It'll definitely be interesting to see what happens when standard rotates. They already have a big problem with player retention, especially in standard, and UB players have even less reason to remain interested after rotation because they're going to be more picky about the sets that interest them - no MTG IP will, and only a fraction of UB IP will.
Just got into the game and chose Dash IO. Looks powerful, price was great, but I didn’t know worlds started a couple of weeks after I got my deck and now it seems like my deck is getting banned. 😅
Welcome! Its a great deck and she is miles from being banned entirely. Though she might (and it’s still far from certain) have one card restricted to stop her current highest power turn. That being said, that might not happen and even if it does she is still a very solid hero with a card pool that is relevant to other heroes as well so I wouldn’t be concerned about the long term viability of your mech cards at all!
That's really good points, for good and bad. I'm the same, for me lore and mostly, coherence need to take place in any game. I was playing MTG since Ice Age in 1995, but I couldn't bear the direction it is taking. Now, for the last year I'm playing Flesh and Blood weekly, and just kept some Commander decks to play with friends about once per month. My budget for TCG went from MTG to FaB and others like One Piece, Grand Archive, etc.
That’s the thing as well. With the amount of MtG that comes out you could genuinely dip int 3-4 other games with slower release schedules and have more fun.
Just pick the hero that looks coolest
It’s a foolproof strategy!
I like your content, I listen to every episode and the following disagreement that I`ll write here means nothing against that. However, as frustrated as you are with CYB I am equally frustrated with their positions Here's why: -------------------- Skip this IF you really don't care how balanced CYB is -------------------- CYB math is 9 cards each for 2 mana net 54 life - that makes every CYB a 2 for 6 - a very fair rate especially considering that: 1) you need to cast all 9 to get the fair rate, otherwise its giga shit rate even if only the final CYB is missing 2) no block - it literally forces you to cast it only so it is inflexible af 3) severe deckbuilding tax - your deck becomes a CYB deck and its entire strategy revolves around it now 4) offers no additional value outside of vanilla lifegain, cards with rate 2 for 6 dmg have crazy upsides and block its only real upside is being an instant and pays for it with points 1-4 which are massive; Moreover CYB deck give you all the time in the world to pitchstack insane damage turns and get completely blown away by combo value that CYB has no way to match. Almost every aggro has a way to do this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now to the main points. 1) In every game with character expression there are strategies that few or many people find boring, annoying etc. However they are created for those who find them fun and interesting because the game tries to capture all player archetypes. I find it fun. I on the same exact line of thought - do not find fun whacking each other with DPS cards until one of us is dead. I like setup, I like varied strategies, 'boring' or not. I loved Oldhim and I can't wait to play Oldhim with CYB in LL. 2) It doesn't matter if you enjoyed or didn't enjoy worlds or the finals - I don't think it's ok to pressure people into submission with ultimatums like "I won't watch next finals again if its like this" or what I've seen online "I'm leaving fab unless this is banned" etc. Saying them out loud like this is just fearmongers people into agreeing. You can say you don't like it and move on without such wild consequences involved. You just said you didn't watch worlds - that's fine, I just want to mention that you shouldn't make a big deal out of it in future discussions because I don't think it's a cool way to add to it. You weren't particularly bad on this point I just wanted to make a note of it because many people on this camp are very very ultimative. 3) People who want CYB banned ignoring whether its balanced or not can't possibly care about everyone's fun because they're leaving out the people who actually like CYB. 4) And to your point about sideboard - literally everything works this way - you side AB for wizards, aura destruction and anti prevention against illusionists, Erase Faces and Weakest Links for the proper decks, Amulets of Echoes, etc etc etc etc I can go on and on There is NO difference except that CYB has historically been the most fair card that people want to 'hate' in the history of this game so far. With most decks you don't even need those hate pieces, you just need to pitchstack some good turns and you can threaten damage way beyond what CYB can heal. ---------------------------------- Hopefully by now I've illustrated how whether the card is balanced is actually the important issue - because the rest is an opinion and you can't convince me that it's boring and needs to go when I find it fun.
Thanks for watching and the detailed response I do agree on ultimatums. If I leave fab it will be because I don’t have time for TCGs not because of one card I don’t like or one worlds final I didn’t watch. Not to say there haven’t been straws that broke my back in other games but I rarely throw all my toys out. I will say on the value count. I can accept count your blessing being 2 for 6 value. My main challenge is that it’s not the only thing you do in a turn so those turns can usually go for more than 2 for 6. If you also play ward or you also disrupt with oldhim you can use the 2 for 6 to get more breathing room to set up further disruption. Also think one of the things I dont like is that it ramps up when most power in fab ramps down. Like by the end of the game it’s normal to be running low on reds and life but count your blessings upends that and says “I will gain the most life at the end”. On sideboards. The biggest issue is that it’s generic. So it can slot into any deck. If it was talented and you just had to sideboard against it in a few matchups I wouldn’t be as bothered. The fact that you can sit down against anyone and it can suddenly be a cyb deck is the issue for me.
9 blessings + 3 remembrance = -162 Life- Sounds balanced lol. Edit: Im stoopid, it's actually 405 Life.
Well if rememberance could target instants maybe. :P
@@SteelfurSpeaks I guess you're thrice blessed and im double stoopid haha. I thought it was an action for some reason.
