@@PoloFieldsLawnService the other thing to get use to is that the spreader is in a normally open position vs the Scott’s that was in a normally closed. So when you want to active Scott you just pull the knob. Takes some getting us to for sure on the spyker. Just wish it would roll easier vs me having to really push its like a workout.

Correct makes no sense. They are inflated vs Scott’s plastic wheels.

I graduated from a Scott's spreader, and I must say, the Spyker spreader is much easier to push. The wheels glide thru grass. Even tall, thick grass. I haven't had any issues with pushing the spreader thru tall grass. If you're a homeowner, you're only gonna use your spreader a few times a year. You should be good greasing it up once a year. On the other hand, a contractor like myself will use it several times a year so our situation will be different bit you should be fine 👌🏾

@@PoloFieldsLawnService I’m just going to Grease it today pump up those tires again and test. It’s the simple things I recall. It’s heavy but again solid built. A simple dial change is easier on older unit vs this unit where you have to get under the unit. Sometimes you want less material in different spots. That’s where the old unit just shines. Little things that could have been added to this unit to make it the best just left out my guess made by Eng but not used in the field. Also what happened to the angle for the end user who pushes it? I guess they predetermined one height adjustment for all 🤦‍♂️. Like the basics were missed, am I off here? I really want to love this beast of a spreader just seems to miss the mark in so many areas.. will be adding some fertilizer later I hope my forearms don’t get the work out like they did last time.

@@FD-dh2fu what unit do you have? You can change the handle to different heights for different sizes as well. When you say older unit vs. newer unit, which ones are you referring to?

Definitely! The Ice Melt agitator is a little more heavy-duty, but it will spread seeds and ferts just fine. You can also dial the opening to very slight if you're spreading very small granules. The only materials the unit won't distribute are large rock salt or mulch. We just recommend making sure to fully clean and dry the mechanics and hopper of the piece afterwards to avoid material cross-contamination.

Does it feel harder to move "push" than say a Scotts Spreader? I tried one the other day and it seems very difficult to push when fully loaded. Also the fact that the operation seems backwards. Meaning the default is normally open vs normally closed? Most spreaders are normally closed. Maybe the pro series 50 did not have any enough grease in the gears? But still the cheaper versions just seemd so much easier to move even when fully loaded.

Yes! The ERGO-PRO handle will adjust for users from 5'3" to 6'6".

Yes, a buildup of fertilizer dust can cause problems with accurate spreading.

You should be slightly overlapping the spread pattern to ensure full coverage.
