I had the distinctive privilege and honor of designing and operating the sound for this production, that involved BOTH my two sons in singing roles AND my wife as Music Director, and so, so, many of my friends. It was a challenge; there were people that actually laughed when I told them we were planning on putting on Les Miserables. I had an unprecedented 18 wireless microphones on stage, and even many of those had to be shared because we had more actors/singers than we had microphones. Even though at the time I for about 40 years, had been running sound for all kinds of productions, Including major musicals, this one really moved me in so many ways … just watching this clip including that near-ending scene where little Faith Hearn, on her bended knee, sang to her father, (played by Pierre Minjauw, ,my good friend and fellow actor that I have shared the stage with more than once,) “you will live… Papa you’re going to live!“… Well, you can rest assured, I was up in the sound booth, trying to choke back tears, … Every. Single. Time. She did such an amazing job, and I felt so proud of her. There were friends of mine that never had been in any other show, but love this one so much that they made an exception, auditioned, and got a part… Even if it was “just in the chorus“; fulfilling something of a lifelong dream, and I can tell you, the huge chorus in this literally stole the show. … I could go on forever, but I’ll just say it was a singular moment in my long career as a sound engineer, actor, and musician, that I will treasure in my heart to my last breath. In my long association with this theater it continues to stand as the pinnacle production.

France is more beautiful than dream

I had the opportunity to see them perform in St. Louis, MO on two separate occasions. Their live performances were so much fun and energetic. At one point for many years, I had a special limited-edition T-shirt with their classic "MF" logo in yellow against a navy-blue background. Unfortunately, it was one of many articles of clothing that was stolen along with a suitcase of mine while visiting Seattle. Nonetheless, brilliant group.

Here is my take on this for what it is worth. That Sarah is one focused character. Did you notice that nothing got in here way. Intense and willing to do what ever it took to complete her task. As for you young man you can"t tell me there were no bars in the area.

This is the second or third clip that you have sent me and now detect a really layed back quiet style. The background music has a distinct rhythm and beat that is very clean and easy listen to. It was difficult to understand the speaker but that wasn't the point the point was the scenery and the music. I really enjoy listening to these short musical dies they are refreshing. Do not think you need to do them just when you are on trip. Try setting some of this crisp guitar flares to other things to.

Thanks Jack -- I am striving for more "indistinction" in my music! Actually, the voice file that I use in the music (the second half) is almost all pulled from a video clip seen in the first half (where he says "The lobby is to die for.") But admittedly, audio quality in a boat, in Chicago, on the river, and impromptu tends to suffer a bit. Listen again, and this time "Trust the force!" Nice hearing from you.
