Howdy everyone! In today's video, we will visit various spots along the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner to catch some of Amtrak's GE P32-8BWH in action.
Back in January, there was a huge fire in the valleys of Southern California that forced highways to shut down (with Interstate 101 being the primary route). The only convenient and safest way at that time would be taking the train along the coast on Union Pacific's Coast Subdivision. Ridership demand was rising because of that fire and Pacific Surfliner needed much more equipment to help people commute faster. CDOT (California Department of Transportation) sent 2 P32-8BWHs, CDTX 2051 and CDTX 2052, down the coast from Northern California along ...

Just 2 years ago, I saw an NS train with all UP power here in Virginia which wasn't highly unusual then. However it had one unit either a dash 9 or AC4400 that still was in its original but faded SP paint. It kills me to this day that I wasn't able to get a photo of it.
