Thank you very much, haha yes I know the level you mean, it was an absolute shit bag of a level, probably the worst in the game so, I'm not sure if this is a compliment or not. 😂 Yeah the reverb is great! I'm wondering if the distant choir thing you heard though is the Digitakt, I had recorded the whole Perfourmer line into it and then halfway through fade it in, and its like pitched up and faster and in reverse and such! Anyway its a big mush of ambient smooshes so as long as it was enjoyable :) Yeaaah I love both kinds and all in between. Just having a hard time not doing ambient lately, I think because the Perfourmer has such a nice sound. I have determined I am getting a Labyrinth as well though, so that will filthy up the register eventually :) Thanks again!

@@hexwavemusic bahaha of course a meant it as a complement, and of course all the flying levels were a massive pain 🤣 👀 The labyrinth. Oh my! You know I'm super into that thing. Freaking can't wait to hear what you make with it. But there's no possible way you won't like it. It's so cool and it truly has a mind of its own, unlike your other gear. Plus you already have reverb and echo pedals which basically make it explode sonically. Oh man, coupled with the digitakt! This is dangerous.

@@larryk6853 Thank you! No, this is just all the pre made kits. The kits are made from the pool of factory samples on the machine, modified with effects and parameters to sound good together. But the machine comes with many more samples in the built in memory, giving you lots to work with before even loading 20 GB of your own stuff.

But then I just stop and do a Perfourmer jam and wonder why I'd want to swap it out when it does so much and sounds so good 🤷 It doesn't get quite as nasty as I like but man, I just love the sound of it, and I'm pretty good with it.

​​@@wilkkick if you're interested in something like Vermis but very weird, check out "Troika!" And "ultraviolet grasslands". They'll have rules for stuff, unlike vermis, but you can just look at the art and read the lore and ignore the gameplay stuff.

@@duende300000 Hey there! Not sure, I haven't seen an error and I've done this many times.. What do you mean "paste kit"? The kit isn't copied and pasted with the copy paste buttons, it's saved and loaded using the regular kit system, so just make sure you're doing it that way. The pattern is the part that's copied and pasted and that shouldn't have any issues. The only thing I can think is if the project you're pasting to is already full; does it have a lot of samples loaded already? Maybe you've surpassed the memory limit for it? Hope it works for you! Otherwise might be some kind of software bug you could report 🪲

@@GeorgeL909 That's really cool, I'm glad to have sparked some inspiration 😁 I do like harsh and atonal type stuff so that does sound neat, but I know what you mean, sometimes it's annoying to listen to when you were aiming for something more "pleasant". Ambient can be reaaaaal easy, but also sometimes it can be real hard to find a sweet spot. Honestly, 75% of it is just having a nice very lush delay and reverb 😂 The P4 isn't technically doing anything generative, though it's complex enough just because of how it works that it almost sounds like it. With each voice set to different settings, and each time a midi note is sent it rotates to the next voice, if like 3 notes are sent and then 1 and 1 and 3 etc it all cycles in an interesting way and then the next time through it might be different if it's an odd number of notes or something. Anyway, I hope you enjoy/enjoyed your chill session! While I would like to hear what you come up with, there's definitely something about specifically deciding not to record and just enjoying it sometimes! Thanks as always!

@@hexwavemusic the most lush reverb I've ever heard is probably the hologram microcosm. It calls to me... but it's practically priced as much as a full on synth and even used sells for like $400+. Still that thing could make a wet fart sound like Vangelis.

@@GeorgeL909 Yeah it's super expensive, so are both of these empress pedals 🙃 But I like having one really nice pedal that covers all the bases in an area, like some people have 3-4 reverb pedals for different occasions but that's too messy for me! Microcosm is quite nice, I've had it twice. I felt like it was doing something to lower the quality of my signal chain, but that was probably just in my head. But that's one of the reasons that I landed on these empress ones, because they make a big point of saying the signal chain will stay pure even when bypassed, it doesn't introduce noise or whatever which is nice. But everyone loves microcosm, I know tons of people with them (and my brother has my first one for guitar). Anyway, don't buy anything! Right? 😜🤑💀

@@hexwavemusic very interesting! Hasn't considered signals chain stuff. Since I don't do a lot of "live performance" besides pressing notes live, my next experiment after trying to turn my 2600 into a Moog Labyrinth, is to try and find some combination of resampling the sp404s janky reverb to make something lush. I know there's some combination of settings to make a huge lush reverb via resampling, I just have to find it. The 404 effects are wonderful, but the reverb is kinda tame. The delay algorithms are phenomenal though, especially tape delay with detuning and ko da ma delay (whatever that's doing). Ko da ma at high feedback and short delay times actually makes for a better reverb than the 404s actual reverb effect 🤣. Ok that's my plan. Don't buy anything. Fake a labyrinth. Fake a microcosm.

@@GeorgeL909 Yeah from my brief foray with the 404, I loved the FX a lot and really missed them after! The whole setup with that thing is actually really cool, with the customizable FX bus options and whatnot plus the performance controls right there in your face. Good luck and enjoy it!!

Thank you 😎 I'm just so annoyed at my panning on this so I hope you weren't on headphones 😂 I haven't used the A4 but it sounds nice. I'm sure its similar in some ways for sure. It usually is fairly smooth by "default", in fact if you search on RUclips probably 90% of jams are soft ambient things. It has a very smooth, warm filter and doesn't make harsh tones through most normal means, but then you have these oscillator sink switches and fm knobs that you can use to get it real gritty. It more than anything benefits from knowing what all the options are and when to reach for them. Something like the Labyrinth is going to be way more gritty and crazy as far as sound design than this, but I enjoy the mix of having 4 polyphonic voices all with their own controls. And the round robin style voice usage and different polyphony modes lets you kinda mess around and find a nice melody you didn't mean to make.

@@hexwavemusic ah I see, well excellent patching. I'll be honest, you're the only person I've watched that uses the perFourMer, but for sure I love what you're doing with it. Don't get me started on the labyrinth. I want it. I want to be inside it. But I mustn't 😬

@@helpmeiaminhell Well technically it can, but you won't want to use it without a midi controller. It basically has options for testing the sound, but it'll be the same couple melodies over and over and you can't change them because it's not meant for playing really. But to be honest, I would recommend not being afraid of midi, it's actually very simple once you get your hands on it. For instance a midi keyboard, you would just connect a midi cable from the out of the keyboard to the in on the Perfourmer, and then select the same midi channel on both units and that's it, playing the keyboard will then play the Perfourmer. Sequencers are pretty easy too, and if you want to make electronic music id recommend just watching some beginner tutorials because I promise you can learn basics in an hour or two and be able to make some fun stuff!
