There were three of them in this episode, as well as Stan the musician there was a guy who was a self obsessed financier solely driven by money, he was disappointed to find that money no longer existed. He was, however, a shrewd judge of character. Then there was the woman who had been a devoted wife and mother, Troi traced her family tree and was able to put her in contact with her current living relatives. It would’ve been nice to have a follow up episode to show what they were all doing and how they had adapted to their new lives..

Y'know... it MIGHT have been appropriate. Could you imagine being in space, bumping into an alien species, and inviting them over for music and booze? Yes, even the Romulans. Maybe we wouldn't be at odds with them for centuries.

Star Trek isekai episodes (or portal stories) allow for the writers to explore more of the universe/lore. Modern people don't normally spend time talking about internal combustion engines and fuel chemistry in their everyday lives, but something like this allows the writer to have someone ask about everyday items for the setting.

Well Stan was the right man for the job however he is an acquired taste 😂
