Recovering a Lost Recording from WW2
In this video I recovered what was left of a voice recording of a soldier from WW2 with the help of my dad. This record was made courtesy of Pepsi Cola during the Second World War and acted as a voice memo for families back home.

Hunting for Fighting Knives at the Tyler Gun Show
Просмотров 382Год назад
Hey y'all, today I visited the Tyler TX gun show to hunt for some classic military fighting knives. Unfortunately the show was a little sparse, but I was able to pick up a cool Western Shark for a decent price! Hope y'all enjoy the video, thanks for watching. #picking #gunshow #militaria #fightingknife
Fighting Knife Collectors BEWARE
Просмотров 717Год назад
Hey everybody, I wanted to make a quick video today looking at a couple of pretty convincing fakes I found on eBay. This is an issue for those who don't know what they're looking at yet... Buying a reproduction knife when you're looking for an original is an awful feeling and could ruin the hobby for newcomers. Hope everyone is having a great weekend! #ww2 #militaria #knife
Hunting for Militaria | Austin Antique Mall
Просмотров 1 тыс.Год назад
In this video I documented my visit to the Austin Antique Mall in Austin, TX. This is a large antique mall with tons of vendors. There was a surprising amount of militaria at the mall, but I soon found it was because their prices were on the very high side haha. Anywho, hope y'all enjoy watching. #militaria #picking #thrifting
These Pants Cost $10,000

I stumbled upon these camo m42 paratrooper pants on thedogtag.com and was immediately curious. What is the story on these rare pants? How many were made? And who were they issued to? I'll be doing more research on my own, but wanted to share these with y'all and see if anyone has any information or suggestions to point my research in the right direction. Thanks for watching y'all! #militaria #w...

The lazy dog aka the red dot bomb
Can anyone suggest a forum where the community can help me identify a knife my father left me? He was a Huey pilot in Vietnam and brought a knife back. He showed it to me once when I was a teen and said that it was made from a jeep or truck spring. I have searched a bit and find nothing similar - it is much beefier and heavy than any fighting or pilot's knife and came with a solidly made sheath. Thanks for any suggestions.
I'm curious how thick is the trip on the real MACV SOG. I just bought SOG Bowie 2.0, and the last inch, is very thin. Noticeably thinner than on the Ka-Bar. (And many of my other knives, but the Ka-Bar is just a good reference.) It gets down to maybe 2.5 mm about 1 inch before the tip. Despite the base of the blade on the Bowie 2.0 being almost 6mm tick. Did the original MACV SOG knife have similar blade thickness?
I thought this was an April's fool but nope, that actually exists
The Fairbairn Sykes Knife and the similar V-42 Stiletto are designed for one purpose. Sentry removal. Punch through carotid artery from left or right side, then push out through the front. 20-40 seconds. Use hand to cover sentry mouth. This is not morbid, this is history as the way it is and was done by the OSS and SOE during World War Two.
You literally just copied the reel, you just mirroed it
I remember
Those Camillus knives are trash though.
I have one too, well used and Razor sharp, with a Name on the sheath!
That horribly designed pilot knife made the list, but not the Camillus made USMC?
I have one of these from a yard sale years ago.. . Most of it anyway. Interested ?
Do you have a forum that can identify a Vietnamese era, possible montagnard multi directional blade knife? It has a bamboo handle and matching sheath.

I’m glad he went into a history depth with this knife
Need them.
It is a beautifull Dagger,i wish i could own one in my collection
5:17 I have that exact Knife and Sheath, that belonged to my Father. He was on the USS Omaha. '43-'44 (Not 4 Sale of course)
I like the honesty. It's not about utility, it's basically a dangerous fidget toy
2nd blade you open is called a sheep's foot.
I found the knife at my families house in SF! Beautiful knife
I have one that’s missing da bottom pommel !
Well that was a lucky buyer.
I'm not sure what prompted you to go so deep on the research of this knife but I'm so happy that you did~ Cheers!
Most Sog vets that ran missions ate the indidge rations so they did t smell like an American
If you see this please let me know, if you know, what they used to keep the pommels on the knife. I have this exact knife, marked too, and the pommel is missing the metal that would seal it to the tang. I want to re seal it but don’t know what metal it is. I don’t think it’s aluminum, the melting point would be too high and would melt the plastic and burn the leather when pouring it into the pommel to seal it. I only know it’s poured in because of how the remaining metal is connected on the tang of my knife where it fell out from
The M1 Sniperscope was used in WW2. M2 Sniperscope was being made as the war ended. It was pushed into service in Korea while the M3 scope was being made. Your case is for the M3. Nice Case!
I have the parkerized version in very nice condition my grandfather left me.
Not odd that it had USMC on it. MACVSOG oversaw units from all branches of the service. Marines under SOG would have been Force Recon. Most SOG folks were Army Special Forces. I will say though that if this knife were carried in the field, it is in remarkable condition. I was in SOG in 68, and the SOG knife existed then. I didn't have one, partially because no one ever turned them back in. I had the Air Force Survival Knife.
Bel pezzo
Loved the canted blade models very very nice knife. They did tuck into the body when strapped on a load bearing vest or wherever gear you wanted it on.
Great info. I was at SOG the summer of 68. No SOG knife was issued. The reason I heard was that NONE were ever returned. lol. So, my "SOG" knife was the Air Force Survival Knife (with of course a Swiss Army knife in my pocket.). An ugly but useful tool. No regrets.
Love people prepare to do a video. They don't. Look we don't need to know why you haven't done something just stop with the senseless chatter and get to the point of the video.
Searching on eBay for one with thumb grooves. Dont mind a replica, can’t afford an original. Any recommendations on where to buy one?
Awesomely video!
I have a Boker replica of the V-42 complete with replica sheath. I have never handled a true V-42 , but the balance of the replica is awesome. It's a beautiful knife.
I thought they were made from .50 bmg bullets??? Or were they actually just solid steel??? I would think a lead core bullet would have greater velocity and performance???
Metal detector friendly
Just found one in an original, but not correct for the knife M6 scabbard viner 1943. The USM6 in the leather is overstamped with XXXXXX. Would that indicate it was sold as surplus after ww2?
My grandfather's is locked in my safe. Made by case with sheath
Blade length is another deadly feature allowing you to reach the vitals organs 🫀🫁
My favorite would be the buck 119, 120, 122 and 124. In the era they were made by hand to a very high standard. They were popular for private purchase and some units issued them.
Excellent video!!!
Airborne!
SOG guys always make me feel short.
Airborne!
Ive got a post war civilian version. No bluing and brass guard, and makes a great hunting knife too.
One replica of battle knife maybe not be so bad.The problem is that they are selling that like a genuine knife that fought in the war with the money of the original. The cost of one reproduction knife is not so expensive, like the presentation who we see in the video.
Your knife same age as me . I’ve got the gerber command ll 1 of 1500 series. Don’t plan on using it , unless SHTF lol
I bought one from the 70th Edition. Do you have a bend or a strayed blade?
@@Hund540 I’m not sure? I’ve got him put away in safe place
That was awesome watching this video 👍🏻🇦🇺
Got some nice one there, sooo, play cards, ah, badly?
