How do you know when the water turns blue? What did you mean by rain runoff? You want little rain or a lot of rain?

It's a gamble really. The more rain there is in the region when you go the waters will be muddy. The less rain there is or no rain, the waters will stay blue. Look at the news for Havasu Falls right now. There were torrential rains causing the waters to flow muddy and flood. When there is no rain itll stay nice and blue. Same will apply for the Little Colorado. Plan carefully or just take a gander and enjoy the hike, if you love hiking.

@@bigacefilms Thank you. I love hiking, but that is a death march. People really need to be cautious on this one. I am experienced enough to do it, but the only way I will is when that water is blue for great photographs.

I would recommend mechanic gloves from an auto parts store or work gloves that fit well.
