I have one of these I bought back in 2009 I think. The wheel is awful hard to get it onto the menu item wanted. The microsd card cover broke off in my hand. The sd card is ok but i need more gb memory so i ordered another mp3 player off Amazon coming tomorrow

In 2023 I have a 2gb X20 and it works excellent. A user replaceable battery is a big bonus.

not bad i just use the zoom h1 on it's own when I need extreme portable recording like this. 96khz wav. Normally though for portability I prefer to use the AT2020 usb with my laptop and the little tripod mini stand for it. I like to use my heil pr40 whenever I can though :3

the nano plus records in mp3 and is extremely easy/simple

I had one of these years ago in high school. It was a pretty cool device. Only kid in my school to have one. Used to get songs off people through the micro SD card.

It just fixed itself somehow so there was no communication with Apple. Perhaps switch it off and back on again

@cdn42 sorry for the late reply but yeah, it is disabled when using it as a line-in recorder.

That is all up to the manufacturer of the phone. Also It does save on costs thus a lower costing phone

Just an update, as I'm sure you probably know, the most recent firmware (2.0) allows you to turn the zoom H1 into a USB mic.

Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset should do the trick

@abhipod1 seems to be the rubber type all around. it seems a bit smooth but you can feel the slight resistance/friction from the rubber material.

I had a similar gripe - couldn't add my own music from Itunes - I'd found some nice Indian sitar music, imported it into Itunes in .MP3 format, but impossible to find it in Iphoto/Diaporama/Music. An update to Itunes 10,4 has solved the problem but why? Maybe Iphoto was looking in an OLD Itunes library from an earlier version - who knows, but if it has helped fine.

@iq8kai sadly I can't test the battery life has the review was done at a phone shop and the unit isn't mine. Though as I did mention in my blog post (in the video description) the battery life could be an issue being only 1200mAh. My Optimus One's is 1500mAh. I think if battery life is important, wait for some reviews from well known sites such as Engadget, TechRadar, AnandTech, GSMArena and the like.

@MrPixlas The Desire Z is a bit more expensive (B$548 on QQeStore.com) but it does lack a front facing camera and it's CPU is only 800Mhz while the Xperia Mini Pro is 1GHz. The Desire Z has a bigger and higher screen resolution and HTC Sense if you like it

Tankas. Nice overview. Good performance per price ratio in my opinion. Perhaps there are others in the same category but I can't think of any. Desire Z must be a lot more expensive right?

@Relix90 tap and hold the text entry field and a context menu should pop-up where you can select "Input method". From there select which keyboard you want to use. Depending on provider, they may not have the same keyboards, but you can always download 3rd party keyboards in the Android Market. hope that helps

@TheWheatField Regarding hiss - you can test it this way: play something rather loud - while it's playing hit record on your Zen - then abruptly turn off the music but leaving record on. Now - do you notice it takes a second or two for the hiss to show up? This is because devices like this and with my Canon HS200 digital camera have auto gain that raises the gain when the sound levels drop - in order to catch those quiet sounds. And when the gain goes up - you hear the noise floor.

@Censored4TRUTH mine is connected straight to the mixer output. Microphone and line-in levels are different, microphone levels are much lower thus if you want to connect it to a microphone you will need to use an (pre?)-amplifier I think to raise the level up. Also, I don't think the hiss is due to quiet bits: Before I press the record button, I monitor the input through the earphones and it sounds fine, but when I press the record button, the hiss is audible while monitoring it

On mine you can hit pause, then play, to start a new track. Also, the hiss is because the compressor is raising the recording level sensitivity during quiet modes. I think I damaged mine by sticking a pin in the mic whole - the levels are much lower - I wonder what the physical structure of the mic is - can it be easily damaged by sticking a pin into it's hole? @mohammedlovespork I believe quite a few of older Creative players have line-in. The Zen V Plus has recording in mp3 format though. The Creative Zen in the video only records to wma =(

@spadhial seems that the firmware I have isn't supported by z4root. I have used Launcher Pro and am now using GO Launcher EX, but thats for the heads up. Wanted to review the phone with the 'out of the box' experience. Will make another video of some customizations to make the phone more usable =)

have u tried something like rooting n flashing and all that stuff. u know it might just speed up ur device. also the lg interface seems to be pretty slow. have u tried launcher PRO.believe me it will get a much faster interface

@Hafiz9596 it is a budget device, so it's not the best gaming device, but always depends on what you're playing. games that have lots of graphics and lots of action may not work well on this phone. Games like Robo Defense and Air Control work fine. Tank Hero lags when the first shot is fired, but after that it seems fine. if you want a good cheap gaming device, I think the 8GB iPod Touch would be the best answer.

@prorogue1 Cool. It's a great phone. The only real customization I've done (and would recommend) is change the launcher to GO Launcher EX (there are other good launchers such as LauncherPro and ADW.Launcher as well. just test and see which is best for you) It works great out of the box and a Task Manager is not really needed (only use it for troublesome apps that don't close properly)
