Medication or Therapy for Mental Illness?
Thank you so much for this video. Super helpful and well-presented. Your time and effort is most appreciated!
I'm glad to hear that my efforts are making a positive difference for people.
Zero it out Coffee is ultra processed That right there takes it off the table
I understand that you’re concerned about processed foods. Organic coffee might be a better choice (for those who want to drink it) since it’s less processed and doesn’t have synthetic pesticides.
There is no "i" in the first syllable of "dementia".
Noted.
I use tea enemas instead of drinking it for the added health benefits.
Interesting.
@dr.tedcorbould I have loved using tea enemas since 1995 for the health benefits and preventing the stomach acids from weakening the potency.
@dr.tedcorbould Chamomile tea is one of my favorites for relaxation, pain relief, insomnia, anxiety, stress relief, and better sleep, just to name a few.
I have heard and personally experienced that caffeine have a really detremental inpact on my mental health. I used to drink lots of coffee but i have stopped completely and dear not drink it again..
Many people find that reducing or eliminating caffeine helps them feel calmer and less anxious. Feeling better after quitting caffeine is a positive indication that it's working for you. Great to hear!
I quit a high paying job because it was too stressful. I gave two weeks' notice, the replacement found. The day after I resigned, I quit caffeine. Now I realize I could have kept the job and done well if I had quit caffeine first.
Leaving a job can evoke mixed feelings. I appreciate your sharing as it helps emphasize the importance of managing stress and making healthy lifestyle choices.
Thank you doc 🫡 its so helpful
Great to hear.
Hi doctor what about a patient that has history of bdd but they had an accident and broke their nose for example, would getting surgery lead to worse mental health or better since it’s going to be fixed ?
I recommend discussing this situation with a doctor who understands the intricacies of BDD and can provide a personalized approach.
*Hi, Please check your email.*
Try drinking it in the morning and not so much in the afternoon. In moderate totals!
Nice! Moderation is best.
Sorry, I need that first cup and a half, maybe one more. Getting things done makes me happy.
He also didn't mention better erection in men. Crazy bonners throughout the night.
Well, I’ve actually learned quite a lot so thank you so much good sir for all this information on caffeine
My pleasure. I appreciate your feedback.
I quit 9 days ago. My mental health has improved greatly. I'm no expert, but I feel like it's mostly due to me getting restful sleep now. I feel so awake and refreshed after sleeping, that it's like a new me. I used to toss and turn, not be able to fall asleep, now I'm out like a light.
Great to hear! I'm currently working on a video about the process of withdrawing from caffeine. Stay tuned.
Thank you. That's encouraging. Off caffeine 4 days. Too soon to notice any real benefits.
@@geraldinemckeogh hang in there. It's so worth it once you're through the bad parts. I've lost 7 lbs. From not drinking so much soda and hiking twice a week. I'm a new person.
@@geraldinemckeogh Nice to hear.
@@cheeseballs3825 Amazing. I also cut sugar and noticed a reduction in weight.
Coffeine makes me so anxious, after 3-4 weeks I can barely move, cause of high stress levels and low sleep quality. My muscles aches.
Try gradually reducing your caffeine intake over a week or two. This can help minimize withdrawal symptoms and make the transition smoother.
It's strange when I feel even more groggy after I drink coffee. The initial kick lasts for a few minutes. And for the rest of the day, I feel groggy and anxious. I can't think clearly.
While many people turn to coffee for its stimulating effects, it's not uncommon for some individuals to experience negative side effects like grogginess, anxiety, and impaired cognitive function.

Caffeine spikes blood sugar and is a vasoconstrictor. If you do like to have a healthy looking face, then quit, if you can. You don't like those bags under your eyes? Quit. Don't like those mood swings? Quit. Negative thinking? Quit. If you can. It takes Zen effort like with cigarettes.
Some good points are made here. Quitting (as with smoking) can be a challenge that requires significant effort and commitment. Approaching it with a mindful and dedicated mindset can make the process more manageable and rewarding.
It took me 35 years to quit caffeine (chai). Feel decades young. Age 78. Caffeine the poor person's cocaine.
Good for you.
I m not sure so far, but I link my DDD to caffeine and poor sleep quality caused by caffeine intake. I drink around 2/3 espressos trough the day.
Improving sleep quality can have numerous benefits for your overall health. Hope all works out for you.
Caffeine is not the problem in coffee it is the amount of pesticides and chemical .
That's a good point. Opting for organic coffee can help reduce pesticide use and ensure a cleaner product.
Coffee is a toxin that some plants produce to poison insects and animals that try to eat them.
I quit caffeine and after a bumpy start with headaches and body aches, I realised it was pure drug. About 10 days into quitting I was sleeping better, training better, and get there overall feelings of joy and happiness for no reason. Just my experience
I appreciate the comment-it reminds me of when I reduced my sugar intake.
I take caffeine besides my anti psycotic medication. I feel good
A pot a day for 60 years

Thank you for your kind words! I'm really glad you found the information helpful.
Fock the caffeine, fock that drug. I'm two months caffeine free, sleep much better and anxiety completely gone.
Good to hear.
Thank you for sharing
Happy the video helped you.
Did you get your doctorate from Starbucks?
People are not feeling better from caffeine people are anxious and neurotic
Caffeine can be quite the double-edged sword. Careful how much you consume. How about swapping that cup of coffee for a brisk walk or a splash of cold water? Sometimes, the best pick-me-up is just a change of pace!
I always said that cigarettes smell. Just vape instead if you are next to me
Absolutely, I get where you're coming from! While I'm all for making choices that keep the air friendly.
I'll just keep smoking and leave this Shithole a bit earlier.
These videos can be deceiving since coffee like anything else including prescribed drugs, will affect folks in different ways!

@@dr.tedcorbould I started drinking coffee au leit at age five, at home and in school!
I used to drink a pot full of percolated coffee; after I retired a switched to Folgers instant coffee and only one cup a day. Keeps my brain sharp at 87.!
That’s a brilliant shift! It sounds like you’ve fine-tuned your coffee routine. Keep thriving!
Oof... the "two packs a day" person develops a foot fetish... 😬
Plot twist. Now you love smelly stuff
😂😂
Drink a whole pot of coffee on an empty stomach and chain smoke till ya puke, then keep smoking and puking. You'll get a lot less weird looks from people. On the other hand you could research using psychedelics for smoking cessation, its highly effective. I have my own anecdotal experience but there are also currently proper studies being done slowly but surely as regulations are ammended for medical research. In my case it was a single use event, dosed some LSD and eventually figured id go out for a smoke. Soon as i took the first drag i essentially got nicotine poisoning and ultimately decided cigs were poison altogether. Ripped the pack in half in threw it away and quit cold turkey for 2.5 years until i picked it up again. Something about that experience was different as i wasnt chain smoking to the point of getting sick as i have done before, my body really just wanted to reject the cigarette and it was only the second or third one for the day. I digress as thats anecdotal however.
Couldn't say you ?
So you want me to walk around with a smelly shoe, some rotten eggs and some gone off milk every time i want to smoke.... And also to inhale each of these every time i take a drag? I think id be put in a nuthouse
Someone is clinically addicted
@@landonibud yes, well done Dr, smoking is incredibly addictive. Seems more like someone has pretty rubbish advice on how to stop smoking.
And you can't figure out something discreet? That's on you then. Could be a napkin in a zip Lock bag you'd sprayed fart spray on or similar.
idk fart then
@@AtotehZ that's hilarious 😂😂😂

Thanks, i needed to hear this.
Great to hear.
Thank God, nothing nothing has ever grabbed me by the nuts. I have never been attached or addicted to anything.
Me too, coffee does nothing good or bad for me, it's no different than if I drink water.
That's interesting! It must be convenient to enjoy coffee purely for the taste without worrying about it impacting your sleep or energy levels.
It's great to hear you’ve managed to stay free from any hooks or habits. It must give you a unique freedom to explore life on your own terms.
I successfully quit and then. . . well I felt bad about the left over coffee so I started drinking it mixed with Teeccino, not even half caf, more like 1/8th caffeinated, and I still feel it makes me less able to deal with stress, more baseline vaguely worried all the time
I understand
Thanks for the tips
No problem!
What a quack.....total rubbish... caffeine is always damaging. Doctor?
Caffeine certainly isn't everyone's cup of tea (or coffee)! It's all about finding what works for your body and sticking with it. If you've found that cutting out caffeine keeps your engine running smoother, that's great insight into what keeps you at your best -no quacks about it!
this guys a doctor?! lol
Psychology
I stopped all sugar and was feeling great then i stopped smoking and let myself eat sugar too curb the smoking cravings, i now am depressed and bloated and feel tired all the time. Sugar sucks.
Can take time for the body to readjust. Took me 2 weeks of headaches when I cut it.
How are you doing now? I just quit and went crazy with the sugar
@@oljaaaaaaa I am starting over with everything. I gave in to cravings and it snowballed. It's a struggle. I'll tell you the contrast of eating sugar and cutting it out was massive. My mental health plummeted when I quit smoking though. I wish I would have known how bad sugar was when I was younger. Years of depression and I'm right back there because I was weak.
@@-blahblahblah I hear you, and it's clear that you're facing a difficult journey. The impact of dietary habits and cravings on both physical and mental health can be profound, and it's not uncommon to experience setbacks along the way.
@@dr.tedcorbould thank you for validating my experience because I feel like there's something wrong with me sometimes. It's nice to hear that what I'm going through is expected and i guess, normal. Thank you 😊
