I heard a story wayback 2006-2008 in ragnarok online philippines. that there's a man that played on a internet cafe where there are many ragnarok players and the man joined a GTB hunt party. that man killed the GTB but the card that drop was picked up by a local of that internet cafe and did not want to give any share to the man.. The man returned with a gun and killed the local who had the card.
And to think that people farmed these things everyday, 1 hour at a time... Makes me rethink about all that time, hopefully at least they made good friends playing ro.
I remember around 18 years ago on the server I played on a Golden Thiefbug Card droppend in the transition warp for some people who then complained in the forum. Good times.
My personal favorite memories from Ragnarok when I was a child include looting AOL, Thara card, and Pupe card. Back then, I had no idea that these were valuable items, I just enjoyed killing those monsters.

Showcasing the grindy nature of RO...an MVP spawn was rare enough, and to have to got through that many kills to get it? For reference, in iRO, most MVPs spawn roughly once per hour somewhere every player has access to a known map. At 1254 kills to get 1 card, that is a drop every 52 days. Sure, certain Dead Branches, and the other one that definitely spawns MVPs make the occurrence of the monster higher, but that becomes hard to calculate. Still, that's a super low spawn rate for an entire player base. Simply put, anyone had certain MVP cards, they were known.

I just kill deviling and luckily got a card by using hunter and suddenly a guy came to me and he want to buy the card for 7k pesos I was clueless why so expensive that year 2006
Looks like he's using the forbidden special abilities "All monsters summoned!" and "All monsters killed!", which allows him to instantly spawn and eliminate all Golden Thief Bugs on the field- I mean, area. XD

@@v44n7I thought it was 10kk because you have to take 10k and multiply x10 10k x 100 = 100.000, well 10k its the same of 0,1% tô monsters drop the card, so you take 100k x 100 = 10kk, If u kill 10.000.000 (10kk) its same of 100% to get the card.

I remember my first card was Fabre. Sold it for 150k which jumpstarted my Agi Swordsman. Good ol days.

I remembered some party killed gtb and it drop a card. A poring card. Someone must be intentionally dropped a poring card to gtb 😂
