Well this old bird got quite a story to tell this AH-1 Cobra first delivered to the 101st Airborne in November of 1972 at Fort Campbell Kentucky it was being used for training real for deployment at fort Campbell until 1980 where it was transferred to Amarillo Texas for modifications in November of 1981 it was transferred to Korea at camp eagle afterwards transferred to Army Air Support Unit in Whiteman Air Force Base August of 1993 In 1998 the airframe had over 3,000 hours on it with the last inspection being in the year October of 2000 with this aircraft officially retiring in July of 2001 where it was transferred to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tulsa Arizona for demilitarized now on public display everyone to see in Washington Illinois
