@@whitetailskateboards no sorry Sophie if I’m still alive at 62 though I thoroughly intend to still be using a deck of yours if my knees haven’t completely worn out in the meantime following the five unnecessary knee surgeries that I was encouraged to have thanks to the British NHS not to mention the spinal fusion they wanted to tap on after ruining my knees and all of this started with a misdiagnosed busted clavicle…….. suffice to say I’m doing my own physio and health now🤷🏻‍♂️🤣👍 No, I’m 46 and 6 foot 2” But I could be heading towards being lighter as only eight months ago I was still on crutches and weighed in at about 23 stone fortunately I was a fitness instructor before they had a good go at destroying my mobility following that initial failed diagnosis of an AC break as a sprain took three nurses and two doctors to come to that conclusion and despite the protruding bone they still insisted that it was too much effort to switch on an x-ray machine🤷🏻‍♂️ So pretty much on average doing about three hours physio a day yoga Pilates course ability plyometrics and crawling activity hanging deep squats et cetera 24 hour fast but the weight loss is slowing down mind you I’m back in the gym doing some weights as well just not on a very regular basis due to poor Recovery and the impact of the wonders of mainstream modern medicine 🧐💊 🦄🦠🫣🔬💩🤷🏻‍♂️ Currently, I have been doing a couple of sessions a week of slalom on the hills around PENZANCE town centre and average of about 4 standard skater skate park sessions and a couple of bowl sessions a month at Mount Hawke skate park near Newquay in the UK….🇬🇧 I’ve got to admit, I love this smooth star on the flat the minute there’s a width of a hill it’s arguable if it’s quicker to walk down it 🤣 and I do a couple of hamboards 🫣🤷🏻‍♂️ they look good😎🤔 mostly too afraid to ride them until I’ve added the cam to the back truck for either the fish and or pescadito because without them, I fear I will be looking at being hospitalised again if only those boards had more give in the middle🤔🫣🤷🏻‍♂️ I have tried to explain this to hams unfortunately they are rather stubborn in their ways bless them lovely company otherwise! Currently, my main decks are the smooth star manta ray 34.5” and the smooth star connar O’Leary 34” go to admit I prefer the O’Leary I like the manta deck a lot sometimes I find that both front and back feet if not positioned right on the tail and as far up the nose as possible can sometimes wind up being either too much on the toe or too much on the heel however I would think that a lot of this is symptomatic of knee hip ankle sacrum lower back mid BANK upper back and shoulder issues🤣😂 But I noticed that Mark made mention of the fact that your decks seem to centralise a regular foot position that feels comfortable and channels your feet into the ideal placement🧐👍? I think it would be fair to say that in the last couple of hours worth of research I’ve come to the conclusion that I might want to try pretty much any truck with your deck at sometime or other but would still be very grateful if you had a list of say the top Five matchups? Your deck to specific surf trucks.??? So I’m heavy big old with questionable mobility if you saw the harbour wall video I’m the guy who looks exceptionally too happy considering it wasn’t even a barrel still the wave the Winter at that spot can get a lot bigger though! Just the easiest wave to get back into surfing or if you’re at a high-level for popping aerial 360s on as I’m sure you saw🤣 I think I can say thanks to the surf skates that I am a lot better than I was when the video was shot lighter too thankfully ….. What do I want a curve board white tail set up for??? Probably I may still invest in the standard deck set up for that light portable application but I would also like to be able to use the carve board trucks With one of your decks because of the potential for stability while laying down sliding snaps on quarter pipe turns which will aid with the surfing it’s still something that I’m having a bit of an issue with the smooth star set up purely because of the weight and the amount of lean? Any voice that you have Sophie Will Be embraced with the enthusiasm of an initiate listening to the words of a wizard or Great Sage! Your decks are amazing, truly a source of surf skate alchemy in the making🤩 blessings, kind skate wizard🧙🏻

Hi! Thanks for tuning in! The Cheetah tail offers a lot of pop as the angle of its rocker is really accentuated. Still, it's a big deck, so if you are on the strong side, it could be perfect. If you're smaller like me, for ollies, you might prefer something smaller like the FeralCat, which is 9 inches wide. In addition of being smaller and lighter, the distance between the pockets is shorter on the FeralCat, so your front foot will grab the nose more easily to level the board into the air. The other benefit of the FeralCat to ollie is the possibility to shorten the wheelbase to 15 or even 14 inches like on a regular skateboard. It will make ollies easier, as the truck will be closer (so less lever effect that makes the nose heavier) If you are down to try an even smaller deck, there's the BlackBird that is shaped like a regular popsicle but with wheelbase options from 14 to 17 so you can transition to regular skate tricks smoothly. It's up to 8.5 wide.

@@tauntPEANUTBUTTER great question, I should have addressed that for sure. Yes, I have to tilt the blade to do a better job. It also prevents the blade to cut through the wood, as it sometimes happens when the blade is very sharp. @@beerwine1000 I inserted a truck bolt from the bottom, so I would see throughout the griptape where the holes are, and then I pierced it with my screwdriver, from the top I’m sorry, I cut this part when I edited it to keep it short, I should have kept it 😅

@@whitetailskateboards I only have the Cheetah from your collection and it has been my favorite deck, I'm just in love with the shape and the concave. Now, I'm in the hunt for something even more nimble for transitions. One of the criteria I have is a shorter distance between the pockets since it feels like my front foot slides and moves to the front pocket more often. However, that means my stance widens and a bit of comfort is lost. I have been eyeing the Tiger Shark (I might actually just snag it right now haha) but it seems like the size is very similar to the cheetah other than the width of the tail. So I got very excited when I came across this video. I am confident you will be able to craft a shape that everyone will love and separates itself from the big boy sharks. I will definitely be one of the first to line up for that future deck! Sophie, your work just inspires us to skate more as we can all sense the passion you put in each deck you design.

@@ssemillawow I can’t express how I appreciate your detailed feedback and personal experience with your Whitetail, it’s so valuable to me and I’ll keep that in mind for my next designs. I totally get your point about the pockets distance and how the foot slipping up to the pocket might make the stance less comfortable. You are right that the distance between the pockets are the same on the TigerShark and the Cheetah, but I need to say that specs are like the ingredients in a recipe, although they can seem similar on paper, the feel of the final product can be very different, and that’s often what happens with skateboards. Riding it, just like tasting a meal, is the best way to feel the difference. I just wanted to mention it, I hope it makes sense. If you ever come by Montreal, I’d be happy to let you try and feel them 😊 Have you tried the FeralCat?

@@whitetailskateboards My TigerShark just arrived! Only ridden it once but I see what you mean that the feel is noticeably different from the Cheetah. The wide tail is heaven sent and super comfortable. Haven't tried the FeralCat yet which makes me wonder if I should have gotten that instead of the TIgerShark. I hope this shape you are experimenting on will be released into the wild soon. I'll definitely be one of the first to place an order. Question on the FeralCat, does it have the same pocket distance as the sharks?
