The Whole Trail
Добавлен 2 апр 2007
The whole trail ridden from beginning to end. No yapping to the camera, no blind runs, no casing jumps, sometimes climbing.
Hipster trail at Heritage Trails Park, WI
Too busy running trains on this new line to set up a side shot. So enjoy the steez of this BMX racer I'm chasing. This is phase 1 of the trail, I'll make another video when the whole thing is complete. Super fun so far, I hope your natural hip is left!

Toad Road trail at Levis Mounds Recreation Area, WI

My favorite trail at Levis. Technical, scenic, and natural. Absolute must-ride.
Cliffhanger trail at Levis Mound Recreational Area, WI

The legendary Cliffhanger trail. Not to be confused with the trail that is actually built on the edge of a cliff, Sidewinder. Cliffhanger is cleverly benched into a steep slope, hugging cliffs and navigating natural tech. A trail rider's trail. Of course this video is hitting it going down hill. A little pro tip, climb Northface or Corkscrew, depending which side of the mound you are on. Go dow...

Skip to 12:58 for the fun stuff, otherwise hang out with me for the 326 ft climb and enjoy the whole trail. Gotta go up to go down after all. If you like tech, you will love this trail. While you're here, you have to also ride Big Rock trail. This is only my third time ever riding this trail (first time was 3 years ago), so not exactly expert level speed, but hopefully you get a full picture of...
Northwoods trail at Quarry Ridge, Madison WI

I used to skip this trail pretty often because until recently it was more of an xc trail. Now there are a couple option lines with sweet jumps to hit. I worked with the trail steward to plan and build that first option line that diverts to the right along the property line and ends with the step down between the trees. 00:56-1:15 on this video. I call it Northeastwoods. Thanks to all the friend...
Stein's 3 Mile Loop, Madison WI

This is one of our favorite loops to ride in our neighborhood. He's a bit slower and less motivated in his old age (hence 35 minutes to do 3 miles) but you can't deny that dog smile. Waddagooboy!
Schroen Train trail at Slaughter Pen, Bentonville AR

A lesser known trail, sort of on its own across the street to the east. Another dark blue trail with very fun tech at the end. Tech enough that my chest mount was flopping all over, GoPro stabilization 2.0 met its match on this one.

On the darker side of blue for the Midwest. Ride it really fast and make it a black. A few years ago I was actually one of the first to ride this trail as the builders were around just wrapping up. They were stoked to see someone ride it and I was stoked on the trail. Rogue trails I think their name was? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Very fun trail right in town. Watch for a bit of exposure on that left turn after a small drop.
Snaggletooth trail at Piedmont & Brewer, Duluth MN

The chunk to drop at the top is really fun. After that... not so much (and not just because I crashed). Someone got way too excited about a tiny boner log, and there's just too much of the classic trail building mistake of "then we turn here and then here and a jump and a turn and a jump" and it just rides twitchy. As such, not a very popular trail especially at the bottom where it was very loo...
Mejumpolis trail at Piedmont & Brewer, Duluth MN

A new trail in the Nimby section of Piedmont. Very fun short trail with sizeable jumps. The trail rides as follows: rock roll, small jump, right berm, medium steep jump with a larger option, left berm, mellow right shark fin, rocks, left berm, roller, big table, step up. Rated single black at the trail, blue on Trailforks. I'd say taking all the small options could be considered blue, but the b...

Area 51 trail at CamRock County Park

The best 100 yards of trail in Dane County are on this trail. In case the cutting back and forth for angles makes it unclear, the final jump section rides as follows: 5 ft drop, 8 foot gap jump, 12 foot gap jump, slight left to 14 foot gap jump (with a slight hip), roller, boner with a 14 foot gap, right berm, 10 foot gap jump over a spillway, and finally me swallowing a bug.

Very fun trial
Regarding measurements, I’m not sure… but I always like to use my bike as a reference. Then, anywhere I go, I always have a general idea, I.e. one bike length, two bikes, three bikes, etc.
Yea clean edit! I love this trail. Was excited when they added more to it.
I really like this edit
Swallowed a bug 😅
I loved these trails! Can't wait to go back. Lots of development plans for this place!
Fine.
when did you guys do this cat ?
Best looking trail in Wisconsin by far. Most trails I've found are either really technical or really loose and dusty. Nice to see a well made packed trail in Wisconsin.
Where is the drop?
James Postle Quarry Ridge in Madison. Trail is called Sandy Bowl, and this is an off shoot to the left with a big caution sign at the top.
How did you encouage your dog to only follow? Mine is always looking for a way to get ahead. Going on 6 months training with him. Thanks!
Same concept of teaching heel. Although I've had more success on the bike than the walk! He's a herder so it's super necessary to keep him behind, because he will definitely stop to look back at me and get run over. So I just start going and the second he passes me I stop and tell him "back" and point behind me. Right when he gets there I start going again. Repeat as necessary! Could be a lot. I was fortunate he learned quickly. Practice on singletrack with a lot of undergrowth around that forces him to stay behind. It's his favorite thing in the world and he really wants to run, so he learned being behind keeps him running so that's where he stays. We go out pretty long and i almost forget he's there sometimes, so i put bells on his collar to keep track of him. Good luck!
Where is this? Levis?
musisKat Blue Mound State Park. It's not groomed there, but the mtb trail is a popular snowshoe route, which often packs the snow down better than a groomer.
I didn't think the snow was good enough there this winter!
musisKat haha, it was a pretty rare occurrence this winter. Pretty sure it was too warm to ride the next day.
Nice edit! Cute dog
Looks like fun! It's a great park and is in Fitchburg, WI, not Madison.
The whole place is good and you can probably do it all in a session. 10 miles total maybe. Park at area 3. The furthest trail from the parking lot has the most features to ride. Everything else is flowy goodness, except the expert loop plopped right in the middle, that's just raw. Big sign for it on main climb can't miss it.
going to camrock in a couple days, which is the best area?
Love this trail system. Totally unexpected surrounded by corn fields its a diamond in the rough
you just pedal faster. actually, this trail is built mostly on the side of a river valley so theres plenty of up and down.
Looks like it's pretty fast for a midwest trail
Very cool!
best part 1:20-1:45, but looks so different on camera
Sick...nuff said. Illogic in the house, Ohio represent.
the bike which the camera was on, is that a SS? Didn't see any other clutter (derailleur cables)! If so, is it rigid?29er?
