    quite a lot of improvement since the last game , congrats , tho i suggest u to always think of tactics or traps that can be used , at this lvl its pretty ez to get people with tactical stuff so that will help you a lot , every 1000 ish player has the same thing , they blunder yes but they see tactics that are very tough to see . i suggest you to try getting to 25-30 in puzzle rush survival , since pattern recognition as i have said before is basically the key to chess . also in lichess there are courses for every checkmate pattern for free so check them out

    try learning some gambits and opening traps , at ~400-500 lvl to almost 1000-1100 lvl they are quite effective , also try out some counterattacks for common gambits like fried liver (i suggest levy's traxler video for this one ) . Also instead of london which sure is good for low rating try learning some openings like scotch or vienna gambit since they are also very helpful . A big part of chess is pattern recog , so try getting ur puzzles in and puzzle rushes , also you can try lichess if you dont want to pay for unlimited puzzles.

    To explain the blunder it was that he could've just taken your knight with either his knight or bishop and if you recaptured with your bishop he could take that too, resulting in a free piece and +3 material advantage for your opponent. And you couldn't stop it. You should've played something like d5 rather than d4xc5. Buuut GoldenTeddy2 just ended up not seeing that and ended up blundering their queen so it all worked out 🤓

      D5 seems bad, locks positions and stops whites queenside attack, this throws away whites advantage and allows black to make up for the wasted moves in the opening. Something better like Nd2 keeps the tension and defends the other knight from the bishop.

    • @realestedm1636
      @realestedm1636 11 дней назад

      @@sslugsYeah you're right d5 wasn't a good move. I was focusing too much on avoiding the material loss. There's also a discovered attack with black's bishop on the rook if that move is made. So yeah I agree Nd2 seems much better

    5:50 you should have just blocked the queen with your queen - or maybe knight but I prefer queen as it's more forcing. At that point you're up one bishop so having trades is good for you and increases your relative advantage.

      19:23 the easiest way is to simplify the game by forcing a queen trade Qe5+.Then save your bishop and you go to endgame the opponent having no pieces and you having a bishop and a rook. Now you got a fork because the opponent just kept on blundering.

      @@yorrinvdg At your rating, the most important thing is to find solid moves and not letting your pieces hanging - and also not blundering stuff for free. When thinking about a move, just remember to make a quick blunder check if there's something you leaving unprotected, is there something that can attack you immediately - or if there's a discover attack. So, don't ignore the bishop that have been sitting in fianchetto last 10 moves at the opposite side of the board. If you're ahead in points, feel free to go for even trades. That way you don't only increase your relative advantage but also minimize the risk for blunders. No need for fancy and complicated tactics - just wait for the opponent making a mistake or a blunder which happens almost in every game at 300-800 elo.

    Great vid . I think u should try spicing things up with a more aggressive opening. No problems with the good ol’ London system, but it can get stale and is much more positional. I recommend the Jobava London or maybe the scotch gambit. You can shred your way up the ladder easily, just learn some basic ideas and some common mistakes that black can make. Most importantly, have fun!

      @yorrinvdg 21 день назад

      Thanks for the reply! It is funny you mention it, I’ve been watching videos from the NM Alex Banzea about the Jabava london and I am trying it out since a couple of days. The Scotch Gambit sounds new to me, I will check it out. 😄

    • @jeffreyburrows9157
      @jeffreyburrows9157 21 день назад

      Agree. London system usually leads to rather positional game which can be hard to play when you're a beginner. Also trying out different openings help to understand them better when your opponent is playing them. I am not sure if that's a goal on sub 600 elo though. Maybe later when you have got familiar with basic principles. Opening itself isn't usually the deciding factor how your game ends up - as long as you don't play silly stuff like the bongcloud. The upside of the London is that you can pretty much play it brain dead never caring too much how the opponent responds - except Qb6 stuff taking advantage of the queen side bishop developed early. I was a fan of e4 openings and played Scotch and Vienna quite a lot. Nowadays I have enjoyed playing Jobava having some quite sharp games. The opponent most likely thinks that "ah, just another London player" but then chaos erupts if he doesn't know how to prevent some bishop & knight tricks.

    Move 26. you had possibility to take his rook with a skewer by your bishop.

      You’re right, I completely missed that one! 😮

    If he plays 7. g5 you capture with your pawn and if he recaptures, it's YOUR turn and you capture his rook. He cannot make two moves in his turn.

    • @jeffreyburrows9157
      @jeffreyburrows9157 Месяц назад

      On move 14. you could have played Bb5 and having a skewer against Q and K if he captures your queen you take his with check and forking the king and a rook on a8. If he captures your bishop, you simply recap with your queen. Both ways you would be up in material.

      @jeffreyburrows9157 Месяц назад

      On move 16. you should follow the idea of checks, captures and attacks. There's Ne5+ and then you can capture his bishop. When you eventually saw that it was too late.

      All solid plays and I should have went for it, might be the reason I am only close to only 400 ELO, haha. I need to be a little more on point the next games. 😂

      @@yorrinvdg I recommend doing chess puzzles as daily basis to help you see these tactics. I think the problem is that here's a lot of tunnel vision focusing only on certain pieces or sections of the board. It can be also helpful to watch videos of speed runs - my favorites are Chess Vibes and Eric Rosen.

    1:42 You rarely if ever play c3 on the third move, try to focus on the main chess principles, development for example. The theory here goes Bf4 first, although principles & tactics are most important for you now. If you’d like I could give you some more tips, feel free to reach out (I’m dutch as well)

    You could make these more interesting by putting on some kind of character. Like be the most cocky 300 elo rated player ever. Aggressively talk trash. That would be funny. Or something like that. It would keep my attention.

    • @yorrinvdg
      @yorrinvdg Месяц назад

      Thanks for the suggestion! I get that adding a character might make things more entertaining, but I believe in staying true to who I am. Playing a role just to keep people engaged wouldn’t feel authentic, and I’d rather connect with viewers who appreciate my calm and curious approach. It might not be flashy, but I’m focused on building an audience that resonates with that vibe. I know it’s not for everyone, but for me, it’s the right path. I'm still new to this, so my personality will shine through more with time. I’m in the adjusting phase right now, but stick around-you might end up enjoying it. And if not, that's okay too.
