Leaking Lay-Z-Spa Pump Repair
This is how I stopped the water leaking from the pump. After storing it for winter rebuilt and there was a problem. Clearly a common issue given the amount of people uploading questions. Hope this helps. Remember switch off the electrics!

2015 Nissan Qashqai - 1.6 dig t tekna crunching gearbox
Просмотров 9 тыс.8 лет назад
Fancy a new Qashqai.....? Apparently the new one comes with an additional feature - crunching as standard. Well, that's according to Nissan who can't find anything wrong with my car. That's despite a new gearbox and numerous days off the road in the garage.
I separated my pump halves, applied a very thin coating of RTV silicone, and reassembled. 👍
I replaced all the seals today they seem to degrade pretty quick I'm guessing because of chlorine, the heater ones were shredded
Any one using super glue as my screws are to far gone
Magic!!
Yep, "that little bracket" I'm sure was the culprit here too. The male section with the two o rings seemed very loose, I layered on loads of PTFE tape and same result. Also the jubilee clip might have been loose too, so worth nipping those tight too. photos.app.goo.gl/ofz7f8q7FCCzhccv6
Thanks for this!! You’ve saved me from buying a new one!! Kids are happy!! Thank you so much
Than you. One screw is difficult to access but I’ll get it sorted. I was wondering how you would know the o ring is thin?
You are the man thank you so much I’m hot tubbing again cause of you
I just did mine with a seal kit off ebay, unfortunately its still leaking from the bottom, any ideas anyone??? ☹
Trying to do as you did. How on earth did you get the screw on the left off none of my screwdrivers fit at that angle lol ?
You need a long screwdriver then it goes in almost straight, i used a long small flathead, not ideal but it did the job.
Mine has started leaking so I will try this, thanks.
Thank you. They started to use low quality rubber for O rings and rings themselves, looks like they were cut by a drunk with scissors. After 2 years I had to replace them all on every joint.
I just replaced mine with #18 O-rings and still leaking. Not sure if I have the right size or something else is going on. I am about ready to seal the pump halves with silicone and seal the fitting with silicone as well. I have capped of the A tube as the valve parishes. What a piece of crap this tub is!
Tried this and did not work me 😢. But kinda hard to find the leak when the cover is off and no water running threw it.
Hi my Vegas pump is leaking from the bottom of the pump. It indicates no error and works perfectly. There is no leak when using jacuzzi but only when switched off or on filter? Any suggestions for this? Is it the and part or the other part with the spring that is leaking?
I reckon its the same problem. Mine did that hence replacing those o rings. Hope you get it sorted.
Brilliant! Thank you so much, that fix has saved us a great deal of money!
This worked for me as well on the SaluSpa in America. Thank you!!
Thanks, worked perfect
Cheers chap, saved my leaking spa!
Thank you for this. I was on the verge of paying a few hundred quid for a replacement Hawaii Hydrojet Pump. Came across this article and figured i'll give it a go as Bestway aftercare said it would be requiring a replacement pump. What do you know - for a quid (the cost of two of the small circle rings) my leak has stopped and my tub is running again. You've saved me a fortune.
Nice one! Glad it has helped...
We had they same problem with our spa pump. Never thought of the o-rings being the problem. Thanks for your awesome hint and fix!!!
Anyone know what those o rings are called so i can buy them
Thank you
Very helpful, thank you. Do you know the size/diameter of those o-rings?
Thank you for your thoughtful video...helpful
I am just about to start this repair but I figure I should say thank you now. I don't want to forget. You are a hero!
Thank you so much this really helped
Thank you! Fixed the leak so far... 29p 😁
I’ll shall be giving this a go in the morning as a leak occurred on set up today; same symptoms as yours. I’ll pop a comment up once I’ve done mine 💪
You done mate?
Thank you Steven! You're a genius.... worked perfectly and no leaks. We saw your update also and know what to possibly expect. Thank you again.
Was this out of either tube A, B or C please? I have water leaking out of tube A which is the larger tube (air pump). The one way valve is intact and seems to be working when I place the main cap on it - no water leaks. When I connect the air pump to it, it starts to leak which makes me think it’s the pump side which is broken as opposed to the liner return valve
Thx you just saved my pump
You’re a bloody genius, thank you!
Hi, I have also had the same problem! When I opened it up there is also a gasket seal that perishes. This is also why it leaks, I am finding it hard to get the part! Has anyone else had any joy looking for the seal? I’ve still to contact Bestway but it shows no information regarding the part on the website.
Graham Goodwin you can actually make your own gasket not too hard. m.ruclips.net/video/mX24w6v53LE/видео.html And any type of boat sealant, or jb weld might do the job as well
Thank you very much for the help! Appreciate it. 👍🏻
Thanks Steven that saved me some money mate ( just seen your update I'll see how it goes )
Good to know. I have the Lay-Z-Spa Miami which is just a slightly smaller version of this. I am on my 3rd season with mine.
Bestway really are a crap company, they make an unreliable product and refuse to support it. All they want to do is sell a whole new pump unit rather than spares to fix the one you have. I’m going to save my money and get a proper one.
and for other leaks it could be your non return valve in the blower pipe!! the seal hardens with the heat of the water and then fails as a seal there are 2 of them in the blower pipe u can swap them around as the water never touches the top one.
Update - the tape didnt work for long. So I took off that entire part (just 2 screws remember) and went to a plumbers merchants and purchased 2 replacement O rings. Now put back together and working perfectly. Total cost 50 pence....
I have exactly the same fault with my pump and have effected a 'Temporary' repair with the PTFE tape but I hope to get new o rings soon. Can you advise me as to what size o rings you used?
Hi Chris, I took the part (with the O rings on) to a good plumbers merchants. I unscrewed the pipe connector and that slips off very easily. The guys in the shop had a big box of O rings and just found the correct size that way. So far so good - probably tempting fate - but still working...
Thanks for that Steven. At the moment all is OK but I will probably follow your example and head for a plumbers merchant soon. The trouble is my pipe connector seems to be welded on!
can get them on ebay!!
Great News! What are they listed as?
Hi, I am keen on getting the 1.6 DiG-T as well. Is the crunching of the gear box fixed? Or should I just get the 1.2DiG-T?
Hi. Sadly this remains unresolved and has got worse. Nissan and their UK finance partner (RCI Financial Services) have not progressed this matter and now ignore my emails - even video was ignored. I sent it to both the CEO of Nissan James Wright and Steve Gowler the CEO of RCI. The car is booked into the garage again as it now crunches between 1st and 2nd. I cant say what you should do but I for one will not buy another Nissan. The customer service is appalling and they have little interest in helping you once locked into a contract with them.
@@stevenharmer9904 the problem are solved now?
@@joaquimmelo7633 no idea mate. Got rid of the car. Nissan took it back eventually.
