A great talk on a musical history we rarely hear. Thank you
Thank you for this! This is a great series.
Very good. I run an experimental electronic audio open mic event. Some of this I knew, obviously, but some of it is new to me. I'll be looking at more of your content. Youve named a way in which I work, which is subconsciously present. To not do the expected, the obvious Also I too introduce harsh noise, partly as introducing a contrasting texture, partly as a jump scare, to shock you out of the mindset youve immersed yourself in. Thank you.
Great feedback, thank you!
I suppose as an academic you might already be well aware, but nonetheless for others , for more context you might be interested in various projects presented through the TEI conference proceedings (Tangible, Embedded, and embodied Interaction - including a lot of experiments in musical instruments/interfaces and mapping). And this project of course reminds of such 'classics' like Michael Waisvisz' The Hands.
Thank you for this great comment @sytsew! Other viewers will certainly be interested in the TEI Conference. Alon talks about Michael Waisvisz' The Hands being an influence in the previous studio talk in this playlist: SU Studio Talk 72: Alon Ilsar - The AirSticks 1.0 ruclips.net/video/n0p6ACbp0lw/видео.htmlsi=ttAHlaJCjwSil1UG
Riveting; charming - a delight ! Thanks 🎉
Very wise women.
Super !!! Thanks
Very interesting. And also very well communicated. First class lecture in this brief format.
Loved this series! Thank you Victoria! Also wanted to suggest to ALWAYS listen what you're capturing - monitoring with your headphones at the very least before pressing record will teach you a lot more about how microphones work and how to work with the specific type of mic you're using, as well as how to listen in general. IMO, not monitoring the recording (again, at least before recording, while setting things up) is like taking photos or recording video without looking through the viewfinder - you have no clue what you're capturing until you listen afterwards. Once again, loved this series! Really cool to see that you use a similar process to what I do as well! Really enjoyed the more theoretical parts of the series, lots of inspiration/food for thought! Thank you for sharing!
This series of talks is SO helpful and inspiring. Thanks for making it available.
Cheap and lame.
very interesting, influence of Burrows & Fargion clear too
Wow. Your incredible
AAAAAGH ITS SO CREEPY
love it!
love it!
love it!
love it!
love your work!!
love your work!!
still love your work!
love your work!!
Maravilhoso..... conheci esse trabalho agora mas já sou seu fã.
Why are people laughing during John Cage's Water Walk piece? Thanks Jessie for the brilliant session
Wow, flute!
you are incredible
8:49 WOOOOW
Many suggestions to search his own instrument for sounds.
How come when Claire does this it sounds brilliant, but when I try it sounds horrible.
Because she is a composer so everything she does is automatically believed to be "good". That's modern art for you ....
Very interesting. Thank you!
Muito bom esses toques dele sobre o ouvido e olhos da mente. Eu nem toco piano, mas fiquei com ele o tempo todo. Achei um conteúdo muito epifânico. Me deu muitas ideias pra trabalhar na minha área que é o teatro. Valeu!
This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing!
When he said "Elliott Carter" my ears perked up. Very strong, intellectually deep, playing.
really interesting. thank you
all theory no soul.
that's nice, dear
Why does every subpar "musician" who doesn't practice their instrument say this
нет темы в импровизации , тема неконкретная и неточная нет композиции
Perfect teaching scenario I wish I had in school. Always wanted to play piano.....
Three Three Three Three
What's the second tune called? I know that's fairly known
That tune is called "Heart and Soul".
Fantástico!!!!!!
genius
what kind of percussion table is Greg using? or is it one that he made custom?
Hi Francisco - the percussion tables in this video were custom-made by a designer in Melbourne, for Speak Percussion's premiere performance of Pisaro's 'A wave and waves'.
Sounds Unheard oh wow! i’ve been trying to find something like them but maybe i should just custom build 😀 would they have any info on how they were built by any chance?
@@f.botello unfortunately not Francisco - that info would be with the designer, sorry!
man i'd love to see mark applebaum and robben ford get together and imrpovise some fun stuff
Vital information Eki opening doors for the explorer
I wish I had you as my jazz teacher!
