Because your left hand is not moving and just holding the yarn it causes for cramping and is going to get more tired more easily. It kind of makes me think of how your feet get more tired when you’re just standing in one position, but don’t hurt the same way from walking. As for exercises I’ll usually hold a stress ball in my left hand to help stretch it.
