I don't think with a 84mph 7i clug head speed you should be using the Axiom XStiff. You should go a flex down I think. You should be swinging it at around 95mph for that shaft.
Thx ! Very Helpful :)
Why not an Axiom 105S, but 105X? Because graphite shafts are a level softer?
Didn't have a 105S at the time 😂
Excellent stuff!
Really appreciate you jumping straight into the numbers and analysis with no fluff! Thanks!
What is the rationale for comparing the axiom x-stiff vs steel stiff? I have been considering the axiom but not sure which to go with, playing DGS200 in most irons except for my 4i, which is a modus tour 105s. I love both, but prefer the weight of the s200s. Just not sure I have the swing speed to load a 125g X flex shaft
Wow, you launch a 32deg 7 iron low. That’s like tour level launch.
I have Recoil 95 F4 in a set of ZX5s. Club head speed is around 103 with driver. Would recommend trying the 75S or 105S in the Axiom shafts?
My driver CHS is around 105-108mph, the 75g Axiom shafts feel too light for me. I use a 60g driver shaft.
Interesting how different swings yield different dispersion. With the Project X IO I had 8 shots all within 5 yards of each other. I tried a bunch of shafts and chose this one because it was the best combo of dispersion, spin and carry. How are rifle shafts, and stepped steel shafts made? I hit oban and shimada and know that’s a different manufacturing process (for steel).
What’s the prices of each ??? Kina big data to factor
Can you describe the sound and feel differences?
Thanks for asking this, I'll be sure to include some video footage of shots and sound & feel comparison in the future. For now, this is purely my subjective feels: DG Tour Issue 105 S400 - There's a nice little vibration / feel / kick that comes thru at impact, sound is a very solid thud. NS Modus 105S - this feels a little stiffer and a bit boardy to me, the sound is a little less solid / thud compared to the DG. Project X IO - for me this feels a little bit in between the DG and Modus. Fujikura Axiom - there's a noticeable kick / tip activation, which one would think could mean a bigger dispersion, but the result is quite the contrary. Sound is quite muted.
@@shotsfactoryhk I think you are the first person that I ever heard describe a Modus 105S as "boardy"....thats one of the smoothest shafts in existence. Obviously anyone can feel anything but thats a really strange description that is contrary to about every golfer who's ever played a Nippon shaft regardless of model.
@@TheDeepsilver I'm with you on your evaluation of the Modus shaft. That is what I play would in no manner consider it boardy feeling.
Interesting. The modus and the axiom are similar with the axion just edging the modus in distance and north/south dispersion. The axiom is intriguing but not sure if it’s worth the extra cost. Would have to test them with my swing to see what my results would be. Nice video.
