When Someone You Love Becomes a Memory (2022) - Short Film
Short Synopsis:

Successful AFTRS Application 2022 - My Story - Lewis Coote
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.2 года назад
This is one aspect of my AFTRS Application. The film lasts 3mins as I discuss my story and how it has affected my creative process as well as my reasoning behind my desire to study at the Australian Film Television & Radio School (AFTRS) for the Bachelor of Arts Screen (Production). I was accepted on the 6th of December 2021 and cannot wait to get started in February 2022
This may be some unintended reader response meta, but using gpt for this soothes my AI anxiety. One could assume it will help the inevitable “them” from achieving this even more successfully, but by simply inverting the script, like this inspires us to do, it could just as easily help us all out of this. Especially when it mentions “make you think you weren’t meant for anything more.” And that this life is basically “it.”

Got me tearing up on a Friday arvo
Nice Brother, Is their any possibility if you can share this chat?
You just earned a subscriber! I'm a muslim and I assume you are a Christian. I would humbly suggest you look into Islam with an open mind and by keeping all the pre-conceived notion you might have regarding Islam due to the fake media. In case you didn't know, Jesus and his mother Mary has been mentioned in the Quran and I strongly suggest you to look into Islam, give it a try and choose for yourself which is the true religion. May God bless you and I pray to god you find the truth.
Thank you for subscribing and for sharing your thoughts, brother. I am grateful to you. I have a deep respect for the Islamic faith and the sincerity behind it. I appreciate the open-mindedness in your message. I believe the one true God will answer the prayers of His followers. I'll pray to my God, you pray to yours; through this, the truth will be revealed as He guides us toward His light and truth.
@@lewiscootefilms May god bless and guide us! Ameen!!
I just looked at a picture of Virgin Mary and asked for help, your video was the first thing I saw. Thank you. I needed this.
I'm glad the video was there for you when you needed it. I’ll keep you in my prayers, and I trust God will guide you.
Knowing the enemy isn't enough. You need to *fight*. TODAY: 1. *Confession:* Not just a laundry list of sins, but a brutal self-assessment. Rip your heart open before God. Name your weaknesses. Own your crap. Then, receive forgiveness and move forward. No wallowing. 2. *Prayer:* Not empty words, but a struggle. Wrestle with God like Jacob. Demand His help. Set a timer. 15 minutes, no excuses. Focus on the Jesus Prayer. "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner." Let those words sink into your bones. 3. *Action:* Pick one thing from that list you’re struggling with - social media, video games, whatever your poison is - and cut it out. Cold turkey. 24 hours. Prove to yourself you're not a slave to your desires. Then assess and extend that. Small victories build strength. Fasting of the mind is as vital as fasting from food, understand? 4. *Service:* Do something for someone else without expecting anything in return. Visit a lonely relative. Help a neighbor. Volunteer. Get your focus off yourself. Humility, my friend, is the antidote to pride. Tomorrow, we build on this. No more excuses. No more delays. This is your life. Your *soul* is on the line. ___ TOMORROW: Ok, you think a few prayers and a day off Instagram makes you a warrior? This is spiritual war, not a weekend retreat. The devil laughs at your half-measures. It’s not "what" he does, it's "why". He targets the crack in your soul, the place where your deepest insecurities and desires meet. He whispers lies that "you already believe". *Dismantle his lies*: 1. *Self-Knowledge:* Not just "I'm a looser," but how? What specific, insidious whispers does he use against you? "You're not worthy." "You'll never be good enough." "Everyone else is better." Write them down. Expose them to the light. These are the chains he's bound you with. 2. *Spiritual Warfare:* This isn’t some metaphor. It's a daily battle. Every time you choose prayer over distraction, humility over pride, it's a victory. Every time you fall, it's a wound. Treat it as such. Confess. Repent. Get back in the fight. The Jesus Prayer isn't a mantra, it's a weapon. Wield it like your life depends on it. Because it does. 3. *Asceticism as Strategy:* Fasting, prayer, vigil - these aren't punishments, they’re training. They strengthen your will, sharpen your focus, make you less susceptible to the devil's tricks. Push yourself beyond your comfort zone. Embrace discomfort. It's the crucible where true strength is forged. Start small, build consistency. No excuses. 4. *Mentorship:* Find someone who’s further down the path than you. A priest, an elder, a spiritual guide. Someone who can see your blind spots and call you out on your crap. Submit to their guidance. Humility isn't weakness, it's wisdom. 5. *Action "with purpose":* Don't just do things, understand "why". Connect your actions to your salvation. Every act of service, every prayer, every temptation resisted - these are bricks in the foundation of your eternal life. Build wisely. It isn't about checking boxes, it's about transforming your being. It's about confronting your deepest fears and weaknesses and crushing them with the power of God. ___ NEXT: You think you’re ready? Now it's about death. The death of your ego. The death of your illusions. The death of everything you think you are, so that Christ can truly live in you. Forget that list of distractions. Those are symptoms, not the disease. The disease is *you*. Your self-will. Your pride. Your insatiable desire to be the center of your own universe. *Dethrone yourself and placing Christ on the throne of your heart:* 1. *Embrace the Desert:* Not a literal desert, though that wouldn’t hurt. A desert of the heart. Silence. Solitude. Strip away the noise, the distractions, the constant input. Face the emptiness within. This is where you meet God. And yourself. The self you've been running from. 2. *Radical Honesty:* No more pretending. No more masks. Before God, before your spiritual guide, before yourself, lay bare the festering wounds of your soul. The shame. The guilt. The fear. Expose it all to the healing light of Christ. This is excruciating, but necessary. 3. *Unconditional Surrender:* Surrender your will to God’s will. Not just in theory, but in every moment. Every decision, every thought, every action - offer it up to Him. This is not about giving up, it's about giving "over". Letting go of control. Trusting that He knows the way, even when you don't. 4. *Love as Sacrifice:* Love is not a feeling, it’s an action. A choice. A sacrifice. It's laying down your life for others, even in the smallest of ways. See Christ in every face, even the ones you despise. Serve them. Love them. This is the path to true freedom. 5. *Constant Vigilance:* The devil never sleeps. Neither can you. This isn't a sprint, it’s a marathon. A lifelong battle against the forces of darkness, both within and without. Be vigilant. Be sober. Be prepared. The moment you relax your guard, he will strike. It’s a path of pain, of struggle, of constant purification. But it’s also the path to true joy, to true peace, to true union with God.
