I played Putt Putt in 72 and 73 in Fort Worth. Joel Baker started playing around that time and I dont remember him ever beating me as I won the Gulf States APA Region Championship in 73 at the Seminary South Course #3. Another PPA pro at that time and later was Curtis Taylor who was a good friend. I quit playing after 73 when I went to UTA and had better things to do like graduate college and hang out with the ladies. Good to see these guys make it as my buddy Mike Baldoza did in 73 winning the WORLD PPA Championship and $50,000 including a new Corvette he drove to the course one day

55:14 - Mike Baldoza wins 7 and 6? Talk about a BLOWOUT......That kid could really play and it's because he came from a GOLF background with solid fundamentals. Nearly all of the really good putters in PPA and APA were good golfers as well.

I played Putt Putt tournaments in Ft Worth from 1969-1973 and won 1973 APA Regional Championship on Course #3 @ Seminary the same summer my friend Mike Baldoza (from Camp Bowie) won the World Championship PPA in Tulsa that paid him $50,000! (We had both just graduated high school and were 18 yrs old.) Still remember the day he drove his brand new CORVETTE to the course on South Freeway to show us what he bought with some of his winnings. What a good and really cool guy. I also played with a number of other later to become PPA pros including Curtis Taylor and Joel Baker. A lot of fun back then. It's great to watch these videos. Thanks!

Why is it so much better to watch old footage of mini putt tournament's. I cant gwt through 5 minutes of todays tournament's. The commentating and footage is just brutal.

I played in that National Championship. Lubbock is my hometown, and it was an amazing experience.
