That's interesting, with FC Groningen was it possible to sign any big players or did they struggle to attract them? I'll have to have a go at coaching, from what you said it sounds like it could be a fun but challenging place to coach at on FM 07! Who else did you enjoy coaching on that edition of the game?

@@ReteroFM I think they just don't get a great budget, just like 1.5m or something. Could be a decent challenge. In FM07 though, I mainly played Ajax, Spurs, Valencia, Athletic Bilbao. Bilbao is a lot of fun because of the Basque player rule. And there the opposite is true: they have very low expectations, but the squad is top 6 material, even CL qualification is possible if all the stars align. They get young Javi Martinez and Fernando Llorente. The defence could use some shoring up, but otherwise a great team with a lot of potential, as long as you can hold on to those two talents.

I bet that was a lot of fun! Which was your favourite edition to play of CM?

Tactics wise i'm not sure about that either, i tend to use a 4 4 1 1 to limited success. In all honesty i'm not very good at the game, have you looked on any reddit forums for 07? They potentially could have some ideas with how to set up your team

I run it through steam on Windows 11. That's strange it's not working, what issue are you having with it?

@@Johnsonjack7832 I'm not sure about running it directly from a disc. Yeah i don't think they list the game on Steam anymore, something to do with Licensing. What i did was buy the Disc, and then on the back of the Manual in the box there's a Steam Code to activate. I inputted that into Steam and it worked. If you're looking to buy a new copy i'd try get a brand new one, as if the Steam code has already been activated the disc won't work

I'm sorry to hear that's playing up for you, have you tried running it an compatability mode. Not sure what to suggest other than that, it must be annoying to say the least!

@@ReteroFM yea i have tried several compatability modes, and it helped a little but still looks like the game is running 30 fps in the 2-D matches, so sad cause i have played this game since 08 and never had performance issues, now i have a beast of a computer in 2024 and i can't get it to run smoothly :(

The way which i got it to run was following the instructions on here: www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/comments/ji5620/fm_2005200620072008_windows_10_fix/ For FM05, FM06 & FM07 you need a copy of the disc as usual, and then to install a patch. For FM08, mine seems to run okay without the patch so a little simpler to get running than the others... I agree with you there though! FM07 is one of the best too in my opinion. Let me know if you have any issues, can try to help if so!

I think he only shows up when you choose large database and open argentina/brazil league as view only. Carlos fierro is a legend of the game just like freddy adu. I remember renteria bcause i used to pair him with fernando torres, i never lose.

I think 2005 can be a little frustrating at times with it's limitations, but i think 2007/2008 the games start improving rapidly in my opinion. Do you have a favourite season of football from the 2000s?
