In this video you will see a show we did with a total cap of 1200 people. The area was 25x35 meters, and turned all the way to max we had an average of 110 dB across the area. During showtime however, we tried to average between 95-100 dB over a 30 min period. Setup consisted of - 8x HDL30 (4 pr. side) - A inline gradient cardioid array of 8x 9006 subwoofers, due to space constraints at the sta...

RCF SUB 705-AS Mk3 Product Review
Просмотров 15 тыс.Год назад
Testing of the RCF 705 mk3 showed it was a very competent speaker, great output and pairs really well with most 10 and 12 inch tops. You should consider subscribing for more reviews and speaker testing etc.
How will they go with Yamaha dbr15 ?
I just got mine today. sound good but they give a fairly loud hissing at all times which i hate. THEY SHOULD NOT BE HISSING! I also don't like that they have no crossover. Lastly, RCF recommends to max out the volume which no company has ever said that for their speakers.
Great video thank you so much🎉
¿Que tal suenan esos altavoces? Los rcf nx910a
They sound amazing, very clear sound but needs to be pushed a bit before the tweeter comes in
godly
no front stage infill?
Watch out creamfields 😂
First off, thanks for the detailed video and tips. Recently purchased the RCF 905 AS MK3, but they do not have the holes for the caster wheels. Any tips for this, or do you have a video for installing those?
Hi, can I use only one RCF 705 mk3 subwoofer to connect both left & right RCF Art 932-A?
Yes, it has inputs for two channels to run as a single mono setup
If you set the breaks on it it would reduce the noise. if you have the kind blue Wheels that also stops it from turning the bearing then the noise is Totaly gone. Atleast that works for me.
Does it have a tone at zero signal?
@@peterndwiga4694 there is a slight hum
I have the same 8004 subs and I found that if you engage the locking mechanism on the wheel it usually stops that vibration you are experiencing.
How about 905mk2
Maybe put a rubber strip at edge to protect it from scuff
Clean Sound, thanks for the review
Looks expensive
Lol, you must be careful with subs 😂
Hi, I have two RCF subs with respective satellites, as regards the phase there is a button switch with the writing: PHASE 180° and 80°, to have the movement in the same phase for both speakers I have to set it to 180 ° or 80°? Thank you

Did you compare Art 900 series and NX series speakers as the only difference is plastic and wood cabinets
The woofer and tweeter is the same, but the waveguide and sound is different, and its noticeable. I prefer wooden cabinets for sure, less resonance but heavier.
Do you get high gain before feedback on this one? I sold my ART-910 to upgrade on NX-910
Gain before feedback only apply to microphones, at least to my knowledge. It tends to be related to the overall volume of the system, but many factors comes into play. If you want the NX version over the ART it should be because you like the sound better in the NX cabinet. For me the NX resonates less, a bit warmer, better rear cancellation etc. To answer your question, It doesnt have any effect on feedback, you should look at the 4 primary reasons for feedback. Speaker placement, room acoustics, mic technique and EQ.
@@HammersoundRentals thanks! Would you say co-axial like NX10-sma still works better than 2-way NX-910? Also, do you use effects like reverbs on your wedges for vocal? I was told that reverbs will cause feedback and is impossible to track the freq because it has a tail on it.
@@dynamix_ent1022Ah, I see I didn't know you assumed it was for stage monitors. In that situation the NX10-SMA has a 60x60 dispersion, which in some circumstances can affect the feedback. But if you use the 4 methods I posted, it shouldn't matter too much. I don't usually add any reverb on the monitors, had a few singers request that
That model is not stackable unlike the old version with round groove on the top
How many people would you be able to handle with 2 910s and 2 15s or 18s?
I recommend my clients 50-100 people, thats mainly a limitation on the 15" thats in the package, with 18" you could push it to 150 people easily. Its a very loud enclosure, but the 10" does need a higher crossover than I would like for situations that demand higher SPL. Very portable and very loud, great box for sure! I will try to record some outdoor sessions with the sub and tops combined
Do your NX910s have a static hissing noice from the high frequency driver? Had that with both NX and Art 910.
Yeah, they do seem to have some hiss on all volumelevels, and it does appear to get louder with a mixer plugged in and at max volume. I had some customers tell me about this hiss, and it does appear to be normal for them to have this. Even when plugged in through a grounded socket.
@@HammersoundRentalsThat's what I have thought. But this should not be that big of a deal, as its task is to play music instead of just sitting around.
@@philipp5014Exactly, you only notice the noise floor when its not got anything playing. Not been a problem for me, and I got 8 units ;)
@@HammersoundRentalsI bought one as a dj monitor and will definetly get another one at least. Will pair it with the Sub AX Series coming out at the End of Q2. That will have the Preset for this speaker so it is easier to set up!
Do these come with casters/wheels? If not, are they predrilled for available casters?
No wheels :(
There is a new RCF 905 mk3 active subbass. Novelty. It plays very nicely but lacks power. And I don't know if it can withstand many hours of gaming because it gets warm and there is no cooling. A better bass is the Yamaha DXS 15 XLF. there is no competition here in 15 inch speakers.
Amazing sub greatly recommended. Blows away the old mkii by far and sort of rivals the old 18" in the 80hz. I bought and can testify to it. Really good sub and compact as well for such an amazing sound. Deep for 15" 🔥

What tops you use ?
Whats the diff of this 705 vs the 8003a?
The 8003 its a 18" way more power but anyway this 15 mkiii sounds incredible. I compared it to the 18 mkii and it keeps up that bass motion control helps A LOT!
@@juan600 thank you for fast response!
How does it compare to 8003?
How would you compare them versus the art-910? Soundwise.
I bought both and noticed that the NX910 does not get you as much bass as the Art910 gets you. In Combo with a Sub i would definetly get the NX as the overall sound is better and its more robust.
Man, as incredible as it may seem, I noticed this in the NX 910.. The ART 910 really has some 'black magic' 😁 that makes it have a sound that I like more than my NX 910 which is made of wood, I'm going to have to change speakers 🤣😂.. Especially when you want to use the ART 910 without an active sub and don't want to carry a lot of equipment.
@@igorbassi3470 bro I was trying to find a word similar to describe how I feel about the 912a. its literal black magic lol. I thought nx would be warmer & cleaner
@@raccs600 Yes man, Rcf really did the unthinkable with Rcf ART in terms of sound.. I would never say that a plastic box would give a better bass response than a wooden box, it really is a 🦇🪄 Magic 🕸️ black ☠️🎩 that Rcf did in the ART line 🤣😂.. And the sound unfortunately better full, robust, defined with a lot of attack and pressure 🙊👏👏✊ Congratulations Rcf
You said that the 910 would be the best mach for this sub. You mean two 910 with a single 905 or two 910 with 2 905? I’d like to top to reach the maximum when the sub reaches its maximum. I don’t want the tops to overpower the sub
Depends on how much sub you want in the room, a single is fine for most gigs but if you love bass you should get two
Good stuff. Please do more videos :)
bisede they way it looks what´s the difference between AS II and MK3?
Mostly the look, plays the same, size the same, output the same. If you can get mk2 cheap, I would spring for that.
yo! thank you for the vid! wondering what your thoughts are on the MK3 vs the MK2 (AS-II)? looks to be the only major difference being the "Bass Motion Control" tech the MK3's offer, wondering if that will help the speaker stay together better at higher volumes over the MK2?
From what I've heard the mk 3 upgrade is mainly an aesthetic one, and due to parts for the amplifier not being avaliable. Its nice that it fits better with the 9 series NX and ART series as well. But spec for spec, its completely the same sub, same ratings almost 1 to 1 really. Its a bit lighter, which I'm not sure how to read. Could be that the amp is more efficient and the driver is lighter. You will be happy with either one, but the added benefit of BMC is you may get louder. Not sure how much you would feel that though.
@@HammersoundRentals gotcha, i was thinking similarly; thank you so much for the reply!
Can you add wheels to them?
No 🙁
Looking to upgrade to this sub from my current JBL IRX 115 that I’m running with QSC K12.2s. Thanks for the insight
They don t have the recessed feet , so they can fall when you stack them
I always have a strap around them through the cart, holding them firmly in place
Awesome vid! Can you do side by side by side comparison of the RCF 905 sub and the Bassboss BB15 subwoofers?
I have a 905 on order :)
@@HammersoundRentals Did you already receive it? Would like to have a comparison aswell!
Can you give us a review on the RCF 905? Its suppose to be the same as the 705 but with 133 db and heavier.
I will try and get one in to test 💪
+1 for 905 MK3
I am currently looking into getting these with NX-932s that just released. But undecided if this or the RCF Sub 905-AS MK3 would be the better fit together. I would love to run both speakers and the sub off a 4-Schuko PA-Powerstrip, but I don't know if that is feasible, especially considering the peak power ratings of the 905 sub. Might go with the 705 just because of that alone... The Dip on the 110 hz DSP is worrying me a bit though. The 110 x over would be the configuration I would want to use them in. I wonder if I should go with something else in that case. The 905 version has options I wouldn't use, for example the cardiod system and powercon etc. So that would make the 18 inch version of this a third option. Originally, I didn't wanna go that big though... mhhhhh
I run two 905ASII's with HD32 tops, those subs rock, you wont be dissapointed. And the size and weight makes them so much more portable for one person and a car. Great set for live music.
The tops have more headroom that could go unused with the 705 and the 905, where I would lean towards 8003 if you go above 100 people gigs. Any inside gig the 15 will match the top fine, but outdoor and longer throw situations it will run out before the tops.
@@HammersoundRentals I think I might be okay with that actually - I might only play bigger outside gigs occasionally anyways, most of my stuff is smaller venues. A question i still have left is between the 705 vs the 905 --> Theoretically I don't think I need more than the 705. I don't plan to use them in cardoid mode, don't really need all of the Crossover profiles either.
HI Im also deciding between NX32 and nx932, do you know if the 932 is as clear and tight bass?
@@yosefshkeidim5755 the 932 is a clear upgrade and the newer version of the 32, so definitely go for that one if you can swing it
Tooo goooood
Can you review also new rcf sub 8003 mk3 and nxl 24mk2 with it.
I’ll see what I can do
could you do a video of them playing with tops? im thinking about buying a pair but cant find anywhere to listen to them
I’m waiting on the NX910 to arrive, once they do I will test them with both. Any specific music you’re thinking of playing on them?
@@HammersoundRentals appreciate you actually caring about what people want to use them for, some rock, pop punk and mainstream type dance music would be great
@@Sg435 I made a video now, but I wasn't able to record any music playing through it without copyright sadly. May upload one later. Having spent some time with it now, I think it does really well with EDM and rock music, but not so well with Rap etc. It doesn't really have that low end you'd want to make that type of music really hitting lows work.
What do you think of the units? How do they compare to their predecessors or other subs in their class?
It’s nearly identical in output, mostly cosmetic upgrade
Wow thats crazy. So you haven't noticed any sound improvements? @@HammersoundRentals
@@mandelllouissaint5601 they say it’s had an increase in power, but all I noticed so far is they redline at 2 instead of 3 on the gain :/

Hello, can work with old generation, for example 705 as2?
Hi, They can, it’s mostly a cosmetic upgrade
Its actually a better upgrade. i bought it and sounds really good in the 80hz. Blows the mkii away and kinda rivals the old 18" mkii. Really good sub.
