her career might have gone slightly further if she wasn't groucho's daughter. i think she got a lot of, "its weird that groucho marx has a young daughter singing. i'm turning the station." she never would have been a big star, but instead of making it into the top 100 she might have made it into the top 50.

The Youngblood's version was first released in 1967 as part of an album and went no higher than #62 on the Hot 100 chart. It got re-released in 1969, reaching #5 on the Hot 100 chart.

Wow, the song "Let's Get Together" sure got around, from Chet Powers to the Kingston Trio to We Five and then The Youngbloods (and after that by many other groups up to 2021 by Belinda Carlisle). The woman, Bev Bivins, is the only living member of the original group, and she only stayed in the group for under two years. I think she left in 1966. She was replaced by Debbie Graf Burgan (wife of acoustic guitarist Jerry Burgan). We Five went from a Grammy nomination in 1965 to disbanding by 1970.

It is a shame that the sound quality of this video is in the tank. If you want to hear this amazing song, sound the way it is supposed to sound, then seek out the soundtrack from the year 2015 "Legend" movie. You will be in for a real ear-candy treat. Apparently, the recording equipment in 1964 did a fantastic job, recording The Dixie Cup's hit song. Yet, it took 51 years, for someone with clout, that made the "Legend" film, to get his hands on the initial capture tapes, and release this song with great sound quality. Fifty-one fn years we waited to hear it sound great. Countless fans passed away, never having heard it sound so good. Who sat on those tapes for 5+ decades? Who held them back from the public? Did they have to croak before someone else was able to release those tapes? Who knows how many other hit songs are buried in someone's basement? Anyway, check out the 2015 "Legend" film's soundtrack release of "Chapel Of Love", and enjoy. I do not see it posted on youtube. So look for it via a good streaming service. I would like to post my copy. But I would probably get a copyright strike.

I never knew this song was done by him. The only version I heard was the version done by the Carpenters which was 7 or 8 years after this version.

They are singing the wrong melody to a song we all know. Not good.

I’ve just been listening to this gentleman sing “The Sound of Silence” on Sky 60’s music. It was 1965. What a truly beautiful voice and yet, I’ve never heard of him! What a terrible shame! June 24
