Is it just me who thinks that the beginning is quite significantly "inspired" by Schumanns cello concerto?

El cello se escucha bien pero relega al piano. No creo que sea una buena versión. La música de cámara no se trata de un solista con acompañamiento, es trabajo de equipo; solo escucho lucimiento del cellista.

wohlan welch ein < g'' > bei 0:55, n'est-ce pas? < das Publikum vergöttert Rachmaninoff, weil er den durchschnittlichen Spießergeschmack trifft. Es ist betrüblich, dass Rachmaninoffs ungewöhnliche musikalische Begabung nur eine Tangente zur Kunst bildet, ihre Sphäre streift, ohne je zu ihrem Kern vorzustoßen. > eine Rezension von Wjatscheslaw Karatygin aus dem Jahre 1913 Es ist dies wohl die allergrößte Unverschämtheit, derer sich je ein Musikkritiker erdreisten konnte. Ich persönlich finde, dass - rein musikalisch - im Prinzip nach Rachmaninoff nichts mehr sein kann, was die Stille, und wie ich sie empfinde, besser oder schöner oder präziser abbilden könnte. In dem g'' steckt doch die Traurigkeit allen Seins, so wie es sich als nonenergetisches Abstraktum darstellt, aus der Stille gehoben über die Möglichkeit den Druck in der Atmosphäre dergestalt zu beeinflussen, dass wir kurz und ephemer dieser Schönheit im klanglichen Ausdruck teilhaben können, weil Fermionen, die ihrem innersten Wesen doch sehr bosonal sind, es ermöglichen. Ich möchte aber auch noch einmal sagen, dass ich diese Traurigkeit, die in der Vokalise steckt, als dezidiert sehr schön empfinde und sofort Freude und Glück und Helligkeit anführte, so man mich darum bitten würde, meine Gefühle ob ihrer zu beschreiben. Es ist wohl so eine Art von Superposition, indem ich Freude sicher nicht ohne die Musik von Rachmaninoff empfinden könnte, wobei ich aber gleichzeitig genau die Traurigkeit als Freude und Glückseligkeit meine, die andere sicher nie als Freude beschreiben würden, wobei es in < normalen > Zeiten Momente gibt, wo ich aus reiner Freude an der Schönheit seiner Musik an solchen Stellen still und verhalten lächeln muss. Ich empfinde es genau nur so und wer mich nicht mag, der sollte mich tunlichst meiden, denn ich habe meine Engel ( ...schön, so ich die dann auch mal bald sehen darf... ...es ist nämlich zum K... ) ...und darüber hinaus bin ich ausgefüllt und suche keinen Kontakt und habe das auch nie getan... Eant vel pereant! Ea contra inimicos meos... Le p'tit Daniel ein Licht für meine 😇❤💖💘Engel💘💖❤😇, die ich so sehr vermisse...

Really good performance! A pity that this concerto is so rarely performed compared to the much more famous first concerto. Interesting how all of the piece is wirtten on two staves.
