Test of Opening Titles
I was trying out an opening title sequence for the teaching videos I was making. I ended up not using one since it was quicker that the students having to sit through the sequence for each video.

In the Cardiovascular class we normally to a live demonstration of blood pressure regulation using a piece of equipment called a Finometer. This device measures blood pressure continuously using a figure cuff and is non invasive. During COVID however we can't have the whole cohort of students in a single room and we don't have any way of live streaming the demonstration from one room to other c...

    It’s a horrible test. If I can see a color, should be good to go. Not a bunch of dots used to confused you

    • @usydphysiology1017
      @usydphysiology1017 6 месяцев назад

      Hi, @christ_is_coming_back9118, The dots are not intended to confuse you, but are used to identify deficits in colour vision. To a person with normal colour vision the dots appear to be slightly differnt colours and so, and so numbers or patterns can be identified by the viewer. In individuals with deficits in their colour vision, depending on the deficit, no difference in colour can be detected and so therefore the numbers or patterns cannot be seen. The various tests in these ishihara test booklets vary the exact colours of the dots on the different tests. When the viwer identifies what numbers or patterns they can see on each page, you end up with a complete diagnosis of the type of colour vision deficit you have, if any. So the dots are actually important, because they are discreet patches of colour that are meant to be compared to the surrounding patches of colour, thereby identifying what type of colour vision deficit you have. It is not the point to see if you can see in colour, even colour blind people think they see in colour. The aim is to compare the coloured dots with the surrounding coloured dots. I hope that helps.

    There's an even easier method, use a screen with a black background and a white square or dot in the middle, a shadow of the white figure will appear on screen and you'll be able to correct it way easier that way

      My life using dark mode on almost every single website in existence. Every test I've had post cataract surgery is black dots or whatever on a white background and they aren't nearly as pronounced as when it's a black background with white anything (text, cursor, blank space, etc). Almost every website that has a dark mode, I use dark mode. And it's obvious AF that I astigmatism going on post surgery. It was never visible before, only after.

    • @usydphysiology1017
      @usydphysiology1017 2 года назад

      Hi raynac224, you are quite right, it is not the purpose of this video to actually test astigmatism. This video was made to wallk the students through a series of activities that they would be doing in a class looking at various tests of the visual system. The astigmatism test is just one of the tests they would be looking at. You can sort of see the effect when looking at the image in the video, but ideally there should be nothing between your eye and the test diagram you are looking at.
