Samuel's Backyard Control Line Trainer
Holy smokes what do the neighbors say, LMAO
Awesome..used to do this all the time with my top flight combat streak!!
Ancient arts
Freaking amazing, seriously 😮 From RC ARF to control line, this needs to be a thing , this type of control line would be popular.
Man, my niece is the same age. Hopefully soon she will fly 🙏
Great job. Great Dad.
The young man has come a long way
He sure has. I’m very proud of him.
amazing!
awesome! Liked and subscribed!
I have a guy on the phone, he'll come up for roosters. It's free meat and you say they're too small for meat but I'll bet they're bigger then pheasant and they'll hunt those darn things.
Is it flying on single line? I am trying to get started with my young daughters.
Two lines. Cox .049 engine.
So impressive love it
Priceless grin on his face!!!AWSOME!!!
Nice U-control conversion.
Que rara situación! El motor funciona bien! Que paso!
Goes back to my childhood
I used to fly RC across the street back in 1997. Flew there for 3 years. I could hear these guys flying sometime. Detroit Aero Modelers?? Great time out there, went almost every day. I miss flying.
My father Gene Londke was a founding member of the Detroit Aero Modelers. We flew there until his death in 1986. We were active in both RC and CL. We flew up top and down by the river. I still go to Detroit twice a years for combat events.
To watch c/l is boring ! But flying them is fantastic , Better than rc 😄
Well done!
I remember going to the Detroit rouge park with my father in 67 when he returned from Vietnam. It sparked a lifelong interest in CL and now RC flying in me and got my father involved again as well. Very glad to see that you are keeping the hobby alive!
Excellent control line pilot I am so impressed, love your video
Air raid sirens how awesome sounds like attack but the plane keeps flying
What engine do you use?
What prop are you using? Seems like the plane wants to stay airborne just off idle. What are the specs--size, weight, motor, etc?
What a beauty. what are the specs?
a great competition, Greetings from Germany
Great job
Keeping the hobby alive 🙏🏼👍🏻👏🏻
So boring!
Jokers like you have neither the skill or brains to pursue activities like this, that's why you knock them. Build one and go win a National title if it's so easy.
This change from a H9 RC plane ? what engine use ?
Why no end? That sucks
Even one engine hauls it pretty well.
How does the throttle on that work? Is it run by the third cable?
Yes 3 line bellcrank, handle has a trigger for throttle
@@mlondke Woah, wonder if that could be done on a 1/2a.
I put on plans for a 3rd line setup on Facebook on the control line enthusiasts page. Just uses a couple of aluminum belcranks.
Twin engine airplanes sound so cool, full size or model.
Wow, Sam has really improved from the early days. And he is still so young.
Such a patient dad! Sam gets a lot of credit for wanting to keep trying, many kids would have given up after first crash.
Boring, RC is the best always will be, I gave up CL when I was 7, no more around and around and around, sad that people still fly these stay in a circle never go anywhere but in a circle airplanes, do you know that you can take a flat piece of wood and glue a straight stick to it and mount a motor on the stick and do the same thing, around and around and around boring !
You are an idiot. Control line stunt or combat or racing or speed are some of the hardest events in the world to fly and be competitive in. You gave up when you were 7 because you never learned to do anything more than fly around in a circle. Expand your horizons and see what else is going on in CL before you disparage us. I dare you to try to be a competitive stunt pilot. If it's so easy and boring show me how to do it.
I'll go out on a limb and guess your control line flying is limited to Cox half a, ready to fly plastic stuff like the PT-19 trainer. I've dabbled with RC planes and cars but have had the most fun with control line. As for going in circles, just for the heck of it, at the Navy base at Millington TN, I too a folding chair out to the flying circle. Once the plane, a Ringmaster .35 was in the air, I sat down and flew it while siting! Inside and outside loops and lazy eights. Didn't stand till I was running low on fuel. Used to build Voo Doo fast combat planes just to fun fly. Turn on a dime and with a Fox Combat Special on 25% nitro, close to 100 MPH. I still have a Baby Flight Streak powered by a Cox Tee Dee .049 I built in 1980 and a profile, Tudor with Fox .35. Just about ready to fly a .46 Super Tigre stunt plane.
@@scootergeorge9576 are you still in TN? We attended the Memphis Stunt Classic a few times before it ended.
@@mlondke - No. The Navy transferred me to San Diego in the Summer of 1980. Never made it back. By the way, do you know if Bluff City Hobbies is still there? It was about a mile or so from the airport. Best hobby shop in Memphis.
@@scootergeorge9576 lol yes I know what you can do flying CL, still boring, me I have built many planes from balsa kits, gliders, gas planes and scratch built many too, my collection of over 100 RC engines runs from .010 to 1.20 4 cycle and an OS 7 cyl. Radial 4 stroke, I have dozens of Cox engines along with Enya, Fox, K & B, OS, Titan, ASP, McCoy, Magnum, Webra, Super Tigre, Saito, OK, and many more, speed I have flown gliders with no engines at well over 200 mph, I still have 50 kits of planes that are gliders and nitro engine running planes many of which I purchased in the 70's and 80's, I have built over 70 planes not counting my own design scratch built planes of 23, so CL is not something I would fly, I'm sure many still like it and that's fine, it's good to see people keeping CL alive, it's just not what I like to do and RC is.
Beautiful ! What is the wing span of this model ?
It's a Hangar R/C ARF converted to CL.
Thank you very much for the info
Remember the old sterling kits of balsa and 049 motor. This plane is very nice, and does it have engine rpm control as well?
This is control line scale 👍👍👍
Gorgeous !!!! How much is the wing span and the engine used ?
AWESOME!!! I'm trying to pass on the hobbies to my son as well...
Is the pilot available next summer to go to Brodak... I need a pilot for 1/2A stunt?
We'll be there.
For those who wonder what is going on here, the fliers are given points based on the difference of the high speed and slow speed parts of the flight. Then, they must land in a limited space, preferably caught by one of the wires held by the sandbags. I remember when there was a structure to simulate an aircraft carrier deck for this event. Every thing except the deck was 'water'. Touching the 'water' was a crash and ended the flight.
kool
Tell us about the plane/engine/prop combo. Line length looks to be 35ft. Show us a pic of the model. Thanks, Tim
Tim those were home built foamies, running on 42' lines. The engines were Fora and Profi .049's on a bladder. It was 6 years ago so the design I fly is a little different but I'm still running the Profi engine. HP 1/2a combat is flown on 42's now. I think we were running the Yaro 125mm props back then. I've settled on the 118mm blue prop now for the Profi it likes a smaller prop.
that kid is an ACE great pilot lol.
Well done! The NATS are right around the corner.
