Hello, my name is Crystal (she/her). This is a place where I chat about reading, stitching and whatever else may come my way! I read all sorts of genres but lean into horror, science fiction, literary fiction, and fantasy. I love to stitch Halloween and spooky designs. I also love Kpop and chat about it sometimes as well.

Book recommendation for the members of Seventeen!
I have been eyeing Old Fashioned Cupcake for a while. Glad to hear you liked it 😊
✨📚
"I just wanted bee killings!" 🤣🤣🤣 I knew you would have such good answers for these!! Thank you for doing the tag. I'm definitely going to check out The Shape of the Eye.
@@ChristyLuisDostoevskyinSpace I mean I just felt like I was promised more bee attacks 😆
This was awesome and you’re doing so great with your challenge! 🤘🏻
@@DarkVioletDreams thanks!! I’m happy with my progress.
This vlog makes me want to read some translated books!
I've heard such good things about Hollow Kingdom. I'm adding it to my Zombiethon TBR for next year. That cover on How the Skin Sheds is stunning. Great wrap-up!
@@literarylove123 it’s a lot of fun. I think you’ll enjoy it!
Cat's Eye and I Who Have Never Known Men sound so good. I loved Thirst! Ling Hun is such a great book. The Haunting of Velkwood is my favorite book of the year so far😃 You have done a fabulous job with the Read What You Own Challenge. I hope the second half of the year brings you much joy in your reading journey!
@@literarylove123 thanks so much!!! I would love to know what you think of Cats Eye and IWHNKM.
TAEYONG!!! ❤❤❤ I don't really collect PCs, but I do get the appeal of it. I guess I'm not doing the ktropeathon this year. Oh well. All the books sound so fun.
@@sueysbookbanter Missing Taeyong so much!
@@fiberartsyreads Same 😭
Great vlog! Lots of books for me to look for 😊
@@matthewclarke thanks so much for watching!
I put the disaster tourist on my tbr. I’m intrigued. Fun vlog crystal!🎉
@@Melissa-dg9tm thanks so much for watching!! The Disaster Tourist was great, hope you enjoy it.
The Disaster Tourist sounds fascinating!
@@beautifulminutiae I was super impressed with it! Definitely recommend.
So jealous you have an H Mart! All your k-pop mail 😍😍😍 Also that sushi bake looks so yummy!
@@beautifulminutiae Love going to Hmart! The sushi bake was great and easy.
HYYYYYYPE 🎉
I absolutely love the intro!
I was laughing way too hard at the fact you described Jayne Eyre as thick and long, but not Cawk. 🤣😂🤣😂
@@claudesvlogs 🤭
✨🖤📚
Great variety for June. Cawk sounds like a wild ride. Love it!
@@SarahAsYouWish it was totally bonkers fun!
Lots of interesting reads. I need to get myself a copy of Lone Women.
@@matthewclarke Yes definitely recommend it!
wow very nice
Cherry Magic is so good!
@@claudesvlogs Yes!!!! I love it so much.
I recently started a project to read all of books in the Splatter Western series, and I read four of them in June, along with the four comic one-sheets that were published. "How the Skin Sheds," however, isn't one I have read yet. Glad to hear it was fun! I just finished editing the last of my splatter western videos, but it won't be live on my (brand spanking new) channel for another week or so. Which others in the series have you read? I still have 18 left on my list, but don't have any particular order in which I plan to read them, it is more vibes based on the cover art than anything else, at this point. If you have some you particularly like I would love to hear about them! Also, I am glad you liked "Lone Women." I thought that was phenomenal, Lavalle at the top of his game.
@@arockinsamsara I’ve read the Hailey Piper one also which was great. I’d like to read them all as well. The cover art is so good!! Going to check out your channel, thanks so much for stopping by.
The Hailey Piper one was the one that drew my attention to them in the first place, I thought it was great! I _think_ that I might the Chandler Morrison one next. He just released a new novel, "American Narcisus," and I thought it might be fun to read the two back-to-back, especially since some of the reviews suggest that the novel isn't in the same splattery, extreme, edgelord style that Morrison has shown in others stories like "Dead Inside."
@@arockinsamsara Having loved Dead Inside I’ve been wanting to read more Morrison but just haven’t gotten to anything yet.
I know nothing about K-Pop but I loved watching you go through your collection! I found it very relaxing and interesting! Thank you!
@@absolutetwaddle Thanks so much!
Great Tag Crystal! I love the movie Neverending Story, had no idea it was based on a book. I've heard about Dead Inside, will have to check it out. I've been putting off Maeve Fly for some reason. I really want to read The Reformatory this year. I have also heard The Haunting of Velkwood is amazing. I admire you for sticking with the challenge, great job!
@@CliffsDarkGems Just don’t say I didn’t warn you if/when you get to Dead Inside 😆
So much yes to A Simple Plan and I Who Have Never Known Men!
@@CriminOllyBlog Both were so good!
Great video. I thought Annie Bot was a pretty good read. I'm going to read I Who Have Never Known Men next.
@@matthewclarke I’m looking forward to checking out Annie Bot! I hope you enjoy IWHNKM.
How brilliant was I Who Have Never Known Men. Just an incredible book. Great video. Love the mid year freak out tag
@@RaynorReadsStuff Just perfection! Can’t wait to reread it at some point. Thanks!!!
Great tag video Crystal 🎉. My fave read of the year so far is Grey Dog by Elliott Gish. I think you may like it. I added Cat’s Eye to my TBR, I love a middle aged character too. ✨📚
@@Melissa-dg9tm oooh ok I’m going to check that out!
That freeze frame though 🤣🤣🤣 Excited for another garbage-filled August!
@@Kritz_Reads 🤪 looking forward to what you pick to read!
The read what you own challenge really does put things in to perspective. You’re doing great!!
@@Alicia-606 it goes! I don’t actually have to own every book. 😝
I ugly cried reading The Reformatory 😂 it's so good!! You're doing so well with read what you own!!
@@katrinabrown Me too! Such a devastating story. 😭
I Who Have Never Known Men sounds marvelous!! Just checked my library and may have to make an impromptu run for it! 🚗 Hard agree about Cat’s Eye. Maybe it’s my age but that one landed hard! 👁️ Will be super interested in your take on Bury Your Gays. I liked it okay but was expecting more from all the hype 📚 You’re killing the Read What You Own challenge! One thing that has helped me with book buying is to first read a book through the library before purchasing, unless it’s something I collect. It’s really helped with new releases I’m stoked for but that ultimately prove disappointing. ⭐️ So much great variety in your picks. Can’t wait to check out some of these titles!!
@@culturalcobwebs yes please read it! Cats Eye absolutely hit me perhaps a bit harder because of my age also. I don’t know if I would have felt the same way if I had read it in my 20s. RWYO has been great at making me take a minute to think that I don’t actually have buy every book in existence 😆
I Who Have Never Known Men is also my best book I’ve read this year. It has really stayed with me.
@@SarahAsYouWish yes!!! It’s such an excellent book.
Awesome intro! 🤣Loving these announcement videos. 😀Looking forward to reading some trashy books.
@@CliffsDarkGems Thanks!!! 😃 Can’t wait to see what you get into for garbaugust
