Hi, my name is Mr Bullfinch ! Im a 16
year old birdwatcher from County
Kerry, Ireland and have been persuing
my passion ever since I was 8 years
old.
I have always wanted to record
my experiences of birding so I decided
to buy a camera in June 2023. Now, I
make videos mostly about birds and
other wildlife that I encounter in my
local area or in other areas that I visit
so that I can share my birdwatching
experiences with you !

Recently, I went on holiday to Spain for two weeks ! During my time in Spain, I saw lots of cool bird species and picked up so many lifers ! Over the next few videos I will be showcasing all of the birds that I saw and where I saw them. Congratulations on your lifers, it looks like you had a wonderful trip - was there a particular species you especially enjoyed?
Thanks, Andrew ! There are a few birds that I'd consider my favourites of the trip, but they will be featured in a later episode. From this episode, definitely the Kentish Plover !

We have lots of birds, but nice.
We also have several species of Egrets in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR - Little Egrets, Chinese Egrets, Cattle Egrets and Greater Egrets .
Hi Mark, thanks for your comment. We also get the occasional Cattle Egret and Great Egret here in Ireland but they are much more common in the UK.
In both Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR, and Singapore 🇸🇬, we have the Oriental Magpie as well as the Red-billed Blue Magpie. The Spotted Dove is also very common in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR.
The Common Blackbirds in your backyard is what we call, Chinese Blackbird in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR, Singapore 🇸🇬, Japan 🇯🇵, and Malaysia 🇲🇾.

Hello Mr. Bullfinch. Wonderfull footage. The spotted redshank was awesome. You even filmed my favorite bird: the common snipe. 40 winter species is very solid. I am living at the coast of northern germany and I had quiet a lot winter guests as well. But I didn't count them. New subscriber here. I film wildlife as well. In my last video we found some long-tailed ducks which was really cool. Greets Stefan

Btw at 5:24 you had two Shags... not sure if you noticed them. You can see quite a significant size between the cormorant and the two shags- note as well the bill differences in bill shape and size as well. Seems that there's a 1st year (right) and a juvenile (left).

Another very nice video, surprised that the Little Grebes were a lifer. Are they rare in Ireland? I saw them regularly when growing up in Wales, and see them on nearly a daily basis here in Thailand.
Hi, Thanks for the comment ! I believe little grebes are relatively common here in Ireland, however I don't live near any locations with their suited habitat.
